Abstract

This study aims to analyze the priestly culture of Christians today theologically and practically. The issue of the priestly function of Christians that has not been running well is a challenge for the lives of Christians today. This research uses a qualitative method with the type of literature study. The results of the study state that theologically, the text of 1 Peter 2:9 states the eternal existence of the priesthood of believers as a royal priesthood. This means that God guarantees the priesthood of believers with the intention that when God appoints His people as priests, He maintains the priesthood of His people, and He guides His people as priests in the present life and in the future.

Abstract

The problem that will be discussed is how the art of karugut culture can be used as a medium for teaching Sunday school children and conveying the values ​​of the message of Bible stories by making karugut art as one of the media that can be used. The aim of this research is to develop the karkut art media as a learning medium for how Sunday school teachers can use thekarkut art media when teaching Sunday school children. The methods used in this research include: interviews, observation, literature study. From the results of the research, it is proven that by teaching using the sackut art method there is a significant increase as previously the attendance of Sunday school children was small but when using the sackut art the attendance and enthusiasm of Sunday school children increased.

Abstract

Postmodernism is philosophy stream that emerged in late modern times, the core philosophy of postmodernism is the rejection of the basic assumptions and principles of modernism. Discussion of postmodernism is not something new, but has become a hot discussion among contemporary thinkers. The presence of postmodernism is a serious threat to Christian teaching. The concept of postmodern truth which is a resistance to modern truth has formulated a new view. Even though postmodernism has a different perspective from modernism, this does not mean that the views of postmodernism can be fully accepted. The view of postmodernism is a rejection of objective truth, rejection of absolute truth and rejection of universal truth. The purpose of writing this reach article is first, to explain the background and various concepts of postmodernism. Second, to explain the existence of the church in the form of its role and function as an agent of change in the postmodern era of society. The type of research used is a descriptive qualitative research of the literature with the steps of analyzing and synthesizing library data related to the existence of the church and the view of postmodernism. The benefit of this research is as material for study for students of theology study programs in the development of theology knowledge related to contemporary theological issues.

Abstract

This study compares the Toba Batak Mangongkal Holi Tradition to 2 Samuel 21:12-14's Biblical perspective. To understand the Toba Batak culture's Mangongkal Holi ceremony challenges, this study uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Researchers actively participate in the whole study process, from problem identification to findings, in this research approach. Purposive selection was used to select informants. Data was collected by interviewing respondents, examining the GMAHK community's views of Toba Batak Culture and Mangongkal Holi, and preserving historical data. A qualitative approach was used to accurately depict current situations in data analysis. Credibility tests verify data, while data processing involves interpreting and analysing data to determine its significance. The research shows how local rituals and traditions can include religious ideals like reverence for ancestors without spiritualism or prayer. Despite differences in practice, culture and religion can coexist and provide a moral foundation for society. This study concludes that intercultural discourse and religious understanding maintain social and spiritual balance in heterogeneous communities.

Abstract

The study aims to analyze the form of the pattern of implementation of premarital catechization in the Hosana GKE Buntut Bali congregation, Malan Island district, Katingan Regency. Methods used with a qualitative approach. The results of the study revealed that first, the implementation of premarital catechization in the Hosanna GKE Buntut Bali congregation was carried out ahead of the confirmation of marriage at the GKE Hosanna Buntut Bali church. Second, the meaning of premarital catechization in the GKE Buntut Bali congregation that for the church as a tradition and church regulation to provide teaching for adults before the confirmation of marriage so that the bride and groom are able to carry out the mandate as mature and morally responsible members of the church for marriage so as to become witnesses of Christ in the midst of the world through marriage. Third, the obstacles to the implementation of premarital catechization in the Hosana GKE Buntut Bali congregation, there are obstacles that occur in the implementation of premarital catechization from various parties such as: from the bride and groom who come from different regions and work factors. There are also brides-to-be who come from other faiths. On the part of the church, it is difficult to use what method is used to adjust to the material that is standard for the bride and her family with different backgrounds. Thus causing the church to give priority to the implementation of the marriage confirmation procession. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis bentuk pola pelaksanaan katekisasi pranikah di jemaat Hosana GKE Buntut Bali kecamatan Pulau Malan Kabupaten Katingan. Metode yang digunakan dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menungungkapkan bahwa pertama, pelaksanaan katekisasi pranikah di jemaat Hosana GKE Buntut Bali dilakukan menjelang peneguhan nikah di gereja GKE Hosana Buntut Bali. Kedua, makna katekisasi pranikah di jemaat GKE Buntut Bali bahwa bagi gereja sebagai sebuah tradisi dan peraturan gereja untuk memberikan pengajaran bagi orang dewasa menjelang peneguhan nikah sehingga calon mempelai mampu mengemban amanat sebagai anggota gereja yang dewasa dan bertanggung jawab secara moral atas pernikahan sehingga menjadi saksi Kristus di tengah dunia melalui pernikahan. Ketiga, kendala pelaksanaan katekisasi pranikah di jemaat Hosana GKE Buntut Bali, terdapat kendala yang terjadi pada pelaksanaan katekisasi pranikah berasal dari berbagai pihak seperti: dari pihak mempelai yang berasal dari daerah yang berbeda dan faktor pekerjaan. Terdapat pula calon mempelai yang berasal dari kepercayaan lain. Dari pihak gereja, kesulitan menggunakan metode apa yang digunakan menyesuaikan dengan materi yang baku pada calon mempelai dan keluarganya dengan latar belakang yang berbeda. Sehingga menyebabkan pihak gereja lebih mengutamakan pada pelaksanaan prosesi peneguhan nikah.

Abstract

There has been a recent phenomenon in congregational life where congregations have systematically started to leave their original church and switch to certain churches for various reasons such as the desire to have a preacher convey his motivation, enthusiasm and enthusiasm to live a happy life. Such churches and preachers have emerged in the Central Kalimantan region. This research system uses qualitative research through data analysis of interview transcripts, data display and verification. The results of this study present the theological reflections of Christian congregations from various circles, State Civil Apparatus, housewives, congregational youth, including entrepreneurs/self-employed. Additionally, persistently materialistic contrasts with the path of commercialization and desecularization of religion, clearly demonstrating the effects of prosperity and achievement on the field of theology. Finally, the research shows that prosperity theologies or prosperity gospel, teach that prosperity and success (being rich, successful, and in perfect health) are external signs from God for his beloved ones. Ada fenomena yang terjadi belakangan dalam kehidupan berjemaat, di mana jemaat secara sistematis mulai meninggalkan gereja asal dan beralih ke gereja-gereja tertentu dengan berbagai alasan seperti keinginan untuk memiliki pengkhotbah dapat menyampaikan motivasi, antusiasme, dan semangatnya untuk hidup dalam kebahagiaan. Gereja dan pengkhotbah seperti itu telah muncul di wilayah Kalimantan Tengah. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan naratif melalui analisis data atas transkrip wawancara, display dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian ini menyajikan refleksi teologis jemaat Kristen di Resort Gereja Kalimantan Evangelis (GKE) Kapuas dari berbagai kalangan, Aparatur Sipil Negara, ibu pekerja rumah tangga, pemuda jemaat, termasuk pengusaha/wiraswasta. Selain itu, materialistis yang persisten kontras dengan jalur komersialisasi dan desekularisasi agama, dengan jelas mendemonstrasikan efek kesejahteraan dan pencapaian semu pada bidang teologi. Kesimpulan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teologi kemakmuran atau doktrin kemakmuran/prosperity theologies atau prosperity gospel, mengajarkan bahwa kemakmuran dan sukses (kaya, berhasil, dan sehat sempurna) adalah tanda-tanda eksternal dari Allah untuk orang-orang yang dikasihinya.

Abstract

The challenge of the church with digital developments in the 20th century has amazed many church communities difficult to adapt to technological developments, especially in doing evangelism. Although there are churches that have begun to adapt to technology, it cannot be denied that there are still churches that still cannot keep up with its development in acting to preach the gospel to the congregation, and especially for young people or often called the zillennial generation (Gen Z) through social media. Ironically, technology is more interesting to Gen Z than theology today. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to offer an ideology about the essentials of the church and efforts to carry out evangelistic missions in the digital era. The result of this research is that the church can be clearly understood in the digital era and is able to do mission through the church's social media with the aim of not reaching people who do not know the church, but reaching people who do not know the true Christian faith. So that the responsibility of the church can be successful by carrying out the mission of preaching the gospel in the digital era along with its development.

Abstract

This research intends to analyze the strengthening of faith education in congregations in contemporary churches. It cannot be denied that the impact of globalization is a challenge and at the same time has changed the pattern of faith education in the church. The literature review method is used to discuss and answer these problems. The results of the study reveal that in strengthening the faith education of the congregation in the contemporary church, it is necessary to pay attention to the following important principles. The church must be able to transform from the traditional model to a more dynamic and responsive model. This is not only related to teaching methods, but also about how to convey religious messages so that they remain relevant to the context of the daily lives of worshipers. Then, the importance of utilizing technology as an educational tool cannot be ignored. Churches need to utilize digital platforms, social media, and other technologies to reach worshipers, especially millennials who are highly connected to the digital world. Effective communication and a deep understanding of the needs of various worshipers are key to overcoming the challenges of conveying Christian values.

Abstract

Entering the era of society 5.0 where digital technology is experiencing an increasingly rapid evolution in the midst of global competition, the Church in carrying out its services utilizes digital technology to provide information through social media, including during worship, requires human resources who understand and are able to run multimedia or IT (Information and Technology). The purpose of writing is to analyze in depth the Role of HR Management in Diakonia in the Digital Age. The method used in this writing is literature study, namely analyzing and classifying facts collected from research results such as journals, books, magazines, newspapers, and online databases. In conclusion, the Church in the modern era must be able to adapt and have the courage to make breakthroughs in diakonia. Through the role of HR Management who are capable and willing to develop themselves so they can innovate. Memasuki era society 5.0 dimana teknologi digital mengalami evolusi yang semakin pesat di tengah persaingan global, Gerejapun dalam melaksanakan pelayanannya memanfaatkan teknologi digital untuk memberikan informasi melalui media sosial, termasuk saat pelaksanaan ibadah, dibutuhkan SDM yang mengerti dan mampu menjalankan multimedia ataupun IT (Information and Technology). Tujuan penulisan ialah menganalisa secara mendalam mengenai Peran Manajemen SDM dalam Diakonia di Era Digital. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan ini adalah studi kepustakaan, yakni melakukan analisis dan klasifikasi fakta yang dikumpulkan dari hasil-hasil penelitian seperti jurnal, buku, majalah, koran, maupun online database. Kesimpulan, Gereja di era modern harus mampu beradaptasi dan berani membuat terobosan dalam diakonia. Melalui Peran Manajeman SDM yang cakap dan mau mengembangkan diri agar dapat berinovasi.

Abstract

In essence, secular music is different from church music. Secular music is the music industry, which built on the basis of a capitalistic system. Secular music is created and performed for the glory and benefit of the composer or singer himself. That is the reason secular is called worldly music. Not so with church music. The subject, goal, and message of church music is the person of Jesus Christ himself, so this music is spiritual. Based on Plato’s theory of idealism (which s related to Plato’s theory of the soul), it can be said that secular music is in the area of ephitumia and thumos, while church music is in area of logostikon. Secular music leads to something that is not eternal while the church music is directed to eternal goals. The goal of church music is ultimately divine intellect; rational but faithful.
