Abstract

The presence of philosophy in society is still widely questioned because it is considered capable of undermining beliefs, leading astray, and even having no benefits. The negative view of society towards philosophy is due to the religious and devout culture of the community. However, the development of education, especially at State Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN) and the establishment of Aqidah and Islamic Philosophy Department, it has given rise to philosophers within the student community at PTKIN. Moreover, the unique behavior of philosophy enthusiasts often attracts attention within the PTKIN student community, prompting researchers to examine the perceptions of philosophy enthusiasts regarding the dimension of religiosity in the midst of Indonesia's predominantly religious and devout cultural environment. This research employs a qualitative approach using Glock and Stark's theory on the dimensions of religiosity. The results show that the perceptions of philosophy activists at PTKIN regarding religiosity encompass three aspects. First, of aqidah, philosophy activists may become doubtful about their beliefs or, conversely, strengthen their faith, as well as cleanse impure religious doctrines. Second, in terms of worship, the non-performance of religious rituals is not solely caused by philosophy, but there are other factors at play. Third, morality or akhlak, philosophy has a positive impact on the behavior of philosophy activists.

Abstract

The contestation of conversation about the Baha'i religious group in Indonesia continues from time to time. In valuable retrospect, there has been much debate that characterizes the existence of the Baha'i group. As a result, it is very unfortunate that there are many frictions caused by socio-religious friction in the social sphere. This has led to many assumptions about religious freedom in Indonesia, which are increasingly showing a repressive trend. The author is interested in analyzing the various frictions that arise between the gaps in religious plurality in Indonesia, both pragmatic and paradigmatic. In addition, the author wants to examine how the role of the government can break the deadlock of friction. The research was conducted with a qualitative analysis oriented toward a literature review and Maqasid Syariah as a theoretical perception. Exploration research focuses on various phenomena that occur around the presence of Baha'is in Indonesia and how potential conflicts can arise in them. This research proves that the state needs to be present to accommodate various religions and coexist by prioritizing the concept of benefit for all citizens. In addition, the role of society in maintaining multicultural values must be initiated more intensely and in a dialogical manner.

Abstract

Religion is present on earth to function as a medium to build harmony in life. On the other hand, life in this world is filled with people of different tribes, cultures, ethnicities, religions themselves, and the like. Thus, humanity needs an understanding and application of pluralism for such harmonization. This literature study article aims to reveal the urgency of pluralism according to six official religions in Indonesia. Data analysis uses content analysis by sorting data, classifying it, and analyzing it. The important findings of this study are as follows: First, the manifestation of pluralism is substantially in the form of an attitude of interconnection, which recognizes, appreciates, respects, maintains, and even develops or enriches plural conditions. Pluralism is very important to be used as a medium for building a harmonious life full of peace, harmony, and prosperity in a life of diverse cultures, tribes, nations, religions, ethnicities, and the like. Second, pluralism, in the view of the six official religions in Indonesia, can be used as a medium to build a harmonious life full of harmony and peace. However, local religions other than the six official religions are also very important to be used as a medium to build the intended harmonization. This is because all religions, both official religions and local religions, still have the principle to respect, honor, and maintain the existing diversity.

Abstract

This article attempts to show Mulla Sadra’s model of realism by tracing it through his philosophical principles, especially the principle of Ittihad 'Aqil wa Ma'qul (subject-object unity). Furthermore, the study of the Sadra realism model, which is based on the principle of Ittihad 'Aqil wa Ma'qul, is presented to respond to fundamental epistemic-ontological issues, namely the relationship between the subject’s consciousness and external objects, in order to strengthen belief in the nature and existence of external reality, which is independent of contamination of the subject's mental decisions (mind-independent reality). How does the subject's consciousness relate to external objects? This problem is still an anxiety and has not been resolved by modern philosophers who focus on the discourse of perception, giving rise to various schools of realism, which are represented by two major schools: direct realism and indirect realism. By overcoming these epistemic problems, ultimately, this effort leads to the confirmation of Mulla Sadra's more original and comprehensive model of realism. This paper is attempted using a critical-analytical method, namely analyzing Mulla Sadra's philosophical ideas on the Ittihad 'Aqil wa Ma'qul principles and the views of modern realism by focusing on the issue of perception. The conclusions drawn from the results of the analysis of the Ittihad 'Aqil wa Ma'qul were used as a basis for responding to modern realism as well as an affirmation of Mulla Sadra's style of realism.

Abstract

The existence of a monodisciplinary approach leaves no room for discussion between the sciences. There needs to be an interconnection and integration approach so that some sciences can reveal ideas to solve the problems faced. The focus of this research is on the comparison of the thoughts of M. Amin Abdullah and Mehdi Golshani on the integration of scientific interconnections. This research is library research through data collection techniques by searching for sources, either articles, books, or other sources relevant to the topic of discussion. After collecting the data, it is selected, analyzed, and conclusions formulated. The results showed that Mehdi Golshani supported the integration of scientific interconnection, but only for religion and science. In contrast to the perspective of M. Amin Abdullah, who created the idea of interconnection between religious science and general science, not only science was described through spider webs. M. Amin Abdullah assumes that religion and general science must be open to each other, even though each science has characteristics. With openness, it can create space for discussion so that what is debated as a problem can be criticized to produce a more comprehensive opinion.
