Abstract

An IT governance audit at X Hospital was conducted due to various issues affecting service quality and system performance. Critical points included an overloaded database that resulted in suboptimal website information updates, inadequate server specifications to run the website when users were active, poorly managed network cables that made the server vulnerable to disruptions, and an under-protected IT unit in website management. The study aimed to identify critical points, elicit IT process capabilities, and provide improvement recommendations based on the COBIT 2019 Framework. The methods used included interviews, observations, business goal mapping and alignment, and a capability level questionnaire. The audit results identified five main domains, namely APO12, BAI10, DSS02, DSS03, and DSS04, all at capability level 2. Recommendations included IT risk integration, asset management, accelerated incident handling, improved service and satisfaction, and rapid adaptation to increase capabilities to levels 3, 4, and 5.

Abstract

This article discusses the role of BPS Surabaya in providing high-quality data to support urban development planning. As a key statistical institution, BPS plays a strategic role in supplying accurate, reliable, and up-to-date data for decision-making in various sectors. The study examines how BPS Surabaya implements quality standards, utilizes digital tools, and collaborates with stakeholders to improve the accessibility and credibility of statistical data. The method used is a qualitative case study through literature review and documentation analysis at BPS Surabaya. The result shows that data from BPS Surabaya has significantly supported evidence-based policy-making at the city level. The article concludes that strengthening digital infrastructure, public awareness, and inter-agency cooperation are essential for enhancing data quality in the public sector.

Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly transformed student portfolio creation in higher education. This presents an urgent problem regarding academic authenticity, yet the subjective student experience remains largely unexplored. Therefore, this study aims to understand the lived experience of students interacting with AI during this process. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with three university students. The results reveal a paradoxical experience: AI is perceived as both a practical accelerator and a source of anxiety concerning originality and the devaluation of personal skills. This experience unfolds through a systematic flow, beginning with functional adoption, leading to internal conflict, and resulting in a continuous negotiation of meaning. Interpreted through the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Technology Dependency Theory (TDT), these findings conclude that a pedagogical shift from mere restriction towards fostering critical AI literacy is necessary to uphold academic integrity.

Abstract

Public sector IT projects frequently encounter challenges that impede successful delivery, especially in decentralised environments. This study explores the key project management issues that emerged during the development of the Kelurahan Cantik (Smart Statistical Village) website in Palu, Indonesia. Employing a mixed-method case study, we combined the PMBOK 7th Edition framework with empirical ICT project failure factors to evaluate the project’s planning and execution. Quantitative data were collected through a structured Likert-scale questionnaire completed by 30 respondents involved in the project, while qualitative insights were drawn from document analysis. The findings highlight critical gaps in stakeholder engagement, project monitoring, and leadership support, along with inadequate user preparation and technological misalignment. These issues significantly affected project outcomes, particularly in terms of system utilisation and benefit realisation. This study offers practical recommendations for strengthening governance, planning, and stakeholder coordination in future local government IT initiatives

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of Run Length Encoding (RLE) for compressing digital images of Balinese carved ornaments as a representation of local cultural heritage. The increasing need for high-resolution digital documentation of cultural artifacts leads to larger file sizes and higher storage and transmission demands. This research adopts an experimental quantitative approach to evaluate compression performance based on compression ratio, file size reduction, and processing time. The results demonstrate that RLE produces compression ratios ranging from 17.04% to 79.08%, depending on the visual complexity and repetitive structure of the ornament patterns. Images with dominant homogeneous areas and repetitive motifs achieved higher compression efficiency, while highly detailed and complex textures resulted in lower ratios. All decompressed images were identical to the original files, confirming that RLE operates as a lossless compression method and preserves visual integrity. The findings highlight the strong relationship between visual structure and algorithmic efficiency, contributing to the integration of information technology in the digital preservation of Balinese cultural artifacts.

Abstract

This research discusses the application of diegetic sound effects as a key element in building suspense in a fictional film titled “NGERAKTA.” In filmmaking, sound plays a vital role in shaping atmosphere and influencing audience emotions. Diegetic sound refers to audio that originates from within the story world and is recognized by the characters—such as footsteps, creaking doors, or rocking chairs. The film explores local cultural issues and social phenomena, specifically the Kajeng Kliwon ritual and the trend of live streaming, to deliver a moral message about the dangers of pursuing popularity unethically. The research uses a case study with a qualitative approach, covering pre-production, production, and post-production phases. The process includes location surveys, audio breakdown planning, on-location sound recording, and editing with Adobe Audition and Premiere Pro, using techniques such as trimming, noise reduction, equalization, synchronization, and layering. The results show that strategically applied diegetic sound effects significantly enhance the suspense of film scenes, strengthen the audience’s emotional engagement, and enrich the spatial dimensions of the narrative. This study contributes to the field of sound design and supports the development of immersive fiction films with strong moral messages.

Abstract

Determining outstanding students at SMK Cokroaminoto Luwuk has been carried out conventionally, so the score recapitulation process takes a long time and is prone to subjectivity. This study aims to build an objective and efficient Decision Support System (DSS) using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. System development applies the Waterfall model which includes the stages of analysis, design, coding, and testing. The data used include six main criteria: attendance, report card scores, competency tests, school exams, non-academic achievements, and violation levels. The research results show that the developed web-based system is capable of accurately automating normalization and ranking calculations. Functional testing using Black Box Testing confirms that all system features run according to specifications. The implementation of this DSS has succeeded in increasing data processing time efficiency and providing transparency in determining the best students for the school.

Abstract

Abstract. Technology is currently developing very rapidly. The rapid development of technology in the modern industrial era has resulted in a wide variety of technologies, from newly discovered technologies to technologies that are developments of previous ones. Therefore, this research aims to design and build an automatic waste sorting system based on an Arduino Uno microcontroller, utilizing sensors as the primary tool. This tool is designed using several key components, including an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor as a distance detector, a servo used to control the trash bin lid or actuator, and a proximity sensor used to separate organic and inorganic waste. The automatic waste sorting bin has two compartments for organic and inorganic waste and a single entrance for waste disposal. This microcontroller-based trash bin uses a prototype method. The automatic organic and inorganic waste management model uses microcontroller sensors (Arduino Uno) to reduce indiscriminate waste disposal. Test results show that the system can detect and sort waste with a fairly good level of accuracy and fast response times.
