Abstract

Ensuring reliable the production of staple food is precondition to achieve food security, especially on the challenge of climate change and voaltile demands. Forecasting the production of food crops is essential for fabricating effective policies to maintain national food security in Indonesia. This study aims to forecast corn and rice productions using the Box-Jenkins methodology as additional information for supporting the decision tools for food security planning. Competing models were evaluated using information criteria and forecast accuracy measures such as Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE). The model specification used were: Corn production ARMA (2.0), while Rice production used SARIMA (0.1.4 )(0.1.1)12. This model generate the forecast of both commodities from late 2025 to 2027. The result of this study can be a consideration for policymakers in making policy on food security in Indonesia.

Abstract

The transition from dirty energy to renewable energy is a crucial solution to address the problem of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions that impact the global climate, particularly for manufacturing industries in Indonesia such as PT Chandra Asri. This study aims to analyze the effect of renewable energy implementation on the company's operational costs during the 2014-2024 decade. The method used is a qualitative approach with secondary data analysis from PT Chandra Asri's financial statements and sustainability reports. The results show that although the initial investment in renewable energy is relatively high, the company's operational costs have decreased significantly over time. Analysis using the Operating Expense Ratio (OER) and Return on Investment (ROI) shows that the OER fluctuates, but shows a downward trend after the implementation of renewable energy. Meanwhile, ROI increases rapidly within two years after the initial investment, indicating potential long-term benefits. This study concludes that the transition to renewable energy not only contributes to reducing carbon emissions but also optimizes the company's operational costs. Thus, the implementation of renewable energy is a strategic step that provides economic benefits and environmental sustainability for PT Chandra Asri.

Abstract

This research examines the influence of the Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) program initiated by President Prabowo Subianto on the local school-based economy, particularly canteens and micro food enterprises. The research stems from the concern that although MBG aims to improve students’ nutritional intake and learning concentration, its economic impact on surrounding businesses remains unclear. The purpose of this study is to explore how the program affects business income levels, students’ purchasing behavior, and the economic sustainability of small traders operating near schools. A qualitative approach was employed through open-ended interviews with school canteen managers, micro-enterprise food vendors, and stakeholders involved in food distribution. The findings reveal that most micro-enterprises experienced a decline in income because students no longer purchase food independently as they did before the implementation of MBG. These results imply that the program should not only focus on nutritional benefits for students but also involve local economic actors in the food supply chain to ensure that MBG contributes simultaneously to student welfare and community economic sustainability.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence continues to reshape the ICT sector in Pakistan, yet organizations differ widely in how and why they adopt this technology. This study explores the key drivers of AI adoption by focusing on national ICT professionals who work directly with digital systems and emerging technologies. A total of 110 valid responses were collected through an organized online survey using purposive sampling. The investigation was guided by Technology Organization Environment framework combined with innovation characteristics from Diffusion of Innovation theory. The variables examined include the perceived suitability of AI to current systems, the benefits and complexity of adopting AI, organizational technical capability, and external environmental pressures. Data analysis involved Smart PLS-SEM, which facilitated reliability and validity assessment along with hypothesis evaluation. The outcomes highlight that seamless compatibility with existing infrastructure plays a key role in encouraging AI adoption, offers clear operational value, and is not overly difficult to implement. Technical capability also demonstrates a strong influence, indicating that firms with mature digital systems are better prepared to integrate AI solutions. In contrast, external environmental pressures did not show a significant role in the adoption process. These findings highlight that internal technological perceptions and readiness are stronger predictors of AI adoption than external forces in operating ICT firms in Pakistan. The study provides insights that can help organizations strengthen their technical readiness and make more confident decisions when transitioning toward AI enabled transformation. This study contributes to AI adoption literature by isolating organizational technical capability and providing national level evidence from an emerging ICT economy.

Abstract

The concept of the blue economy has reemerged as a mainstream development paradigm, yet the optimization of seaweed potential in South Sulawesi remains constrained by structural challenges, particularly the limited institutional capacity of village-owned enterprises and coastal MSMEs to access sustainable investment schemes. In addition, the absence of effective collaborative governance continues to hinder the integration of key actors in developing the seaweed industry in Pangkajene dan Kepulauan Regency. This study aims to formulate an applicable development approach by integrating the Public–Private Partnership (PPP) model with a Blue Investment scheme as a strategic framework to strengthen the village-based seaweed industry. The integration of PPP and Blue Investment is expected to enhance governance quality, expand access to financing, and promote a sustainable seaweed supply chain. This research employs a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, non-participatory observation, and document analysis, with data validity ensured through triangulation. Thematic analysis is applied to identify patterns of institutional collaboration, financing mechanisms, and sustainability practices along the seaweed value chain. The findings indicate that integrating PPP and Blue Investment can improve institutional capacity, increase value chain efficiency, and encourage environmentally responsible cultivation practices. These findings support rural economic development and sustainable coastal MSMEs.

Abstract

West Papua can serve as a best practice for eastern Indonesia in fostering structural transformation in national development post-Covid-19. With the highest economic growth rate (20.80 per cent) in 2024, the province has also reported an increase in the literacy of the productive-age population in information and communication technology (ICT). Nonetheless, West Papua’s digital competitiveness remains relatively low, coupled with substantial challenges in transitioning the young workforce into employment or further education, as reflected in the escalating numbers of individuals classified as Not in Employment, Education, or Training (NEET). This study seeks to examine the impact of digitalisation on economic improvement within the community and evaluate the effectiveness of the pre-employment card program in facilitating job opportunities for youth in West Papua. Employing data from the August 2021–2022 National Labour Force Survey (Sakernas) and the 2021 Village Potential Survey, the analysis utilized Instrumental Variables (IV) Two-Stage Least Squares and Propensity Score Matching (PSM) econometric methods. The results indicate a strong positive association between digitalisation and individual income, with substantially higher earnings among digitally engaged workers, conditional on observable characteristics and instrument validity assumptions. Furthermore, the PSM analysis reveals that the pre-employment card program significantly increases employment opportunities for young individuals, emphasizing the need for continued governmental support in technology access and program benefits.

Abstract

The expansion of digital technologies has profoundly altered how organizations function, make decisions, and deliver value. As digital transformation becomes a defining characteristic of modern business environments, leaders must be equipped to guide their organizations through continuous change while maintaining stability and effectiveness. This article examines how leadership preparation and structured change management can support organizations in adapting to digital disruption. Using a qualitative synthesis of academic literature and a contextual case study from Gojek Indonesia, the study reviews theories related to digital leadership, organizational readiness, and formal change frameworks. Recent studies highlight that digital leadership and transformation are deeply interlinked, and that leadership behavior strongly shapes organizational agility and innovation capacity. The findings indicate that successful digital transformation depends on leaders’ ability to foster adaptable mindsets, encourage collaboration, and support cultures willing to experiment and learn. Beyond technology deployment, digital change requires clear communication, capacity development, and alignment across all levels of the organization. The implications emphasize the need for strategic leadership development, competency strengthening, and deliberate interventions to ensure long-term resilience in the digital era.

Abstract

The strengthening of sustainability and climate-related disclosures has become a global priority following the issuance of IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards S1 and S2. However, firms in developing countries continue to face challenges in aligning existing reporting practices with these emerging standards. This study assesses the readiness of carbon-intensive firms in Indonesia for the early adoption of IFRS S1 and S2 through a diagnostic analysis of sustainability disclosures. Using a qualitative content analysis approach, 89 annual and sustainability reports from the energy, chemicals, and construction materials sectors were evaluated based on 29 disclosure indicators across four pillars: governance, strategy, risk management, and metrics and targets. The findings indicate that overall readiness remains low, with relatively higher alignment observed in governance and strategy disclosures, while substantial gaps persist in risk management and, most notably, in metrics and targets. Climate-related quantitative disclosures, particularly those related to emissions measurement, financial impact assessment, and links to accounting assumptions, remain underdeveloped. These results highlight organizational and technical constraints that may hinder effective IFRS S1 and S2 implementation and underscore the need for regulatory guidance and capacity-building initiatives to support IFRS-aligned sustainability reporting in emerging economies

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of macroeconomic variables on poverty levels in Central Java Province during the 2018–2023 period, which captures the pre-pandemic, pandemic, and post-pandemic phases. Using panel data from 34 regencies/cities and employing a Fixed Effect Model (FEM), this research examines the effects of the open unemployment rate (TPT), minimum wage, Human Development Index (HDI), and Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) on poverty. The results show that TPT does not have a significant effect on poverty, while minimum wage has a positive and significant effect, and HDI and GRDP have significant negative effects on poverty. These findings indicate that improvements in human development and inclusive economic growth are crucial for poverty reduction, while minimum wage policies may generate unintended short-term effects, particularly in regions dominated by informal employment. This study contributes by highlighting post-pandemic regional dynamics and the importance of inclusive development strategies in addressing poverty under conditions of economic uncertainty.

Abstract

Study analyzed influence of inflation, national rice prices, and rice production on the exchange rate of farmers in Indonesia through the Aggregate Demand-Aggregate Supply (AD-AS) model. Exchange rate of farmers is one of the indicators of farmers' welfare. Use research data is monthly data 2020 - 2024 total of 60 observations. Analysis was regressed with Newey-West autocorrelation consistent standard error to overcome autocorrelation and all disstationary variables through the Dickey-Fuller Augmentation test to increase validity through the Ordinary Least Square formula. Using statistical tests of Stata software data processors in the analysis of time series data on inflation variables, rice prices, rice production and farmers' exchange rates on a national scale. Results of study show that inflation has a negative and insignificant effect on the NTP, rice prices have a positive and significant influence. On the other hand, rice production has a negative and insignificant influence this period on NTP because there is a possibility of an imbalance between supply of rice prices and market demand. Findings support understanding of AD-AS approach where inflation, rice prices play a role as a factor in market demand, rice production as a market supply. Studies contribute empirically to the context of agricultural economics.
