Sexual violence is an important issue that must be resolved as quickly and precisely as possible. In general, many cases of sexual violence are experienced by women from various sectors. There have been many mental healing efforts provided by various parties to victims of sexual violence, but still few focus on disguising the identities of the victims. The Dayah that he leads is used as a safe house for victims of sexual violence and also provides various efforts to restore the mental health of the victims, one of which is by disguising their identity as victims. Departing from this topic, this article examines the communication strategies developed by the Dayah to fight discrimination against victims of sexual violence. This research was studied using a qualitative approach and data was collected by means of in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. This research uses Reflexive Thematic Analysis (RTA) to analyze the found data. The results of the research are that efforts to disguise identity can be used as a communication strategy to protect victims of sexual violence. Abstract

The phenomenon of baby shaming is common in our society. Baby Shaming is a form of bullying aimed at babies and toddlers. Although the impression of baby shaming only means joking and small talk, in fact baby shaming is a form of verbal violence that comes from words and comments on social media and is included as cyberbullying because it can offend and even hurt the parents of the baby or toddler who is the victim of baby shaming. Using the netnography research method in an online qualitative approach, this article looks at the phenomenon of baby shaming that occurs on the Instagram accounts of Indonesian artists, namely Tasya Kamila and Shandy Aulia. These two artists who have babies/toddlers experience cyberbullying in the form of baby shaming by netizens. Cyberbullying in the form of baby shaming occurs because society has ideal standards that are seen from body parts such as body size (too thin, fat, short, tall), limb shape (stomach, chest, teeth), skin color (black, white), to hair (thin, curly, bald, infertile).  Baby shaming in the form of cyberbullying that occurs through social media can be categorized as a criminal offense that has been regulated in Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE Law). This baby shaming will have an impact, especially for the baby's mother both psychologically and socially. There are several things that can be done if you experience this baby shaming, namely not blaming yourself, focusing on child development, and also closing social media accounts and also being ignorant. Whether the comments are in person or through the media, baby shaming can still be categorized as bullying so the culture of small talk that leads to baby shaming must be stopped. Abstract

Reporting on sexual violence, domestic violence, and various other abusive behaviors has become one of the concrete outcomes caused by the existence of "Toxic Masculinity". It is no longer unfamiliar that the prevailing social norms still dictate how men should behave. The social construct in creating a norm sometimes gives rise to situations that seem biased and oppressive for individuals who are compelled to adhere to and live by it for social acceptance. This research discusses how toxic masculinity is present, cultivated, and perpetuated in everyday life, examining it from the perspective of Social Psychology theory. The type of approach used in this research is qualitative-descriptive, explaining the phenomena that occur in the community. Primary data sources consist of five informants from Gorontalo, while secondary sources come from references such as books and journals. The research technique involves the use of interviews, and the analysis of results is conducted using content analysis. The findings of this research reveal that the formation of toxic masculinity can be observed through the process of social identity, social perception, and social influence on an individual. Abstract

The increasing presence of women in a manufacturing industry, highlights a significant shift in traditional gender roles while underscoring the challenges of balancing domestic responsibilities and professional obligations. This study investigates the dual-role conflicts experienced by female workers and explores the strategies they employ to achieve balance.  Using a qualitative approach with a case study methodology, the research delves deeply into the dual-role phenomenon. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation, utilizing purposive sampling for informant selection. Data validity was ensured through triangulation and analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model.  The study identifies two primary dimensions of conflict: time-based conflict and pressure-based conflict. Female workers implement five strategies to manage these conflicts: coping mechanisms for stress relief, leveraging social support from family and colleagues, effective time management through prioritization, ensuring meaningful quality time with family, and delegating domestic responsibilities to their children and spouses.  However, the effectiveness of these strategies is often hindered by inconsistent delegation and insufficient support from the company and colleagues. The study concludes that enhanced support from both family and the workplace is essential to help female workers achieve a sustainable balance between their personal and professional lives.

Abstract

Reproductive health implies that people are able to have a satisfying and safe sex life and that they have the capability to reproduce and the freedom to decide if, when and how often to do so. This study investigated gender power dynamics and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services among youth in Southwest Nigeria, using Connell's Theory of Gender and Power to explain the study. The study employed descriptive research design, in which multistage sampling techniques was adopted and questionnaire was used to gather information from 1200 respondents made up of youths aged 15 and 35 in Ekiti, Osun, and Ondo. Results: The findings from the study revealed a concerning lack of understanding of SRH services among youth, with knowledge often rooted in social myths and misconceptions. For example, 59% believed people with HIV always appear unhealthy. While most understood major SRH components like contraception and sexual violence, only 29% of males were familiar with periodic abstinence, preferring condoms. The study found low SRH service uptake among males, attributed to service-related barriers. Interestingly, while 78% agreed that either party can initiate condom use, 34% of males perceived a girl's suggestion as distrustful. Urgent policy reforms are recommended including establishing youth-friendly SRH centers, educational campaigns, and promoting equitable decision-making to empower youth and improve SRH service access. A gender disparity emerged, with females showing higher awareness of various contraceptive methods, potentially reinforcing traditional gender roles. This aligns with previous findings indicating greater HIV awareness compared to other SRH aspects. Societal norms dictate gender-specific risk-taking behaviors, particularly among males, impacting women's health. These behaviors include avoiding condoms, substance abuse, and reluctance to seek HIV testing and treatment. This can lead to issues like violence, STIs, and unintended pregnancies. Based on the findings, the study concluded that the gender disparity in the utilization of reproductive health services with females reporting higher usage compared to males. The study therefore recommends that there should be comprehensive and targeted educational programs that specifically address gaps in knowledge concerning sexual and reproductive health. Abstract

Women as single parents are one of the social phenomena that often cause negative stigma from society. This study aims analyzes the gender perspective on single-parent women and their destigmatization strategies in society, with a case study on the women head of household community in Mojosongo Village, Central Java. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative, with a gender perspective approach. The data of this study was obtained from observation, interviews, and documentation. The selection of key and primary informants used purposive sampling, while the selection of supporting informants used snowball sampling. The data analysis technique in this study is an interactive analysis model consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing stages. The results of the study indicate that there are differences in stigma for women and men when they become single parents, especially single parents, due to divorce cases (divorcee). They get a worse negative stigma than single parents because of the death of their husbands case (widow). Therefore, destigmatization strategies must be carried out by both divorcees and widows. One of these strategies is joining the women head of household community, which empowers single-parent women. The existence of the women head of household community can be an effort to reduce or even eliminate negative stigma in society because it can empower single parents socially and economically through various activity programs that improve their lives in society.
