Abstract

The use of Information Technology (IT) in distribution companies plays a crucial role in supporting operational efficiency, data accuracy, and business continuity. PT VWX is a stationery (ATK) distribution company that procures goods from factories and distributes them to suppliers in large quantities. The company relies on a centralized application provided by the head office and utilizes Microsoft Excel for data input processes. This dependency creates several IT-related risks, including human error in data entry, dependency on centralized systems, limited IT human resources, and outdated hardware specifications. This study aims to analyze IT risk management at PT VWX using the COBIT 5 framework, specifically the APO12 (Manage Risk) domain. The research method involved interviews with IT personnel and an analysis of the As-Is and To-Be conditions. The results indicate that the current IT risk management capability level is at Level 2 (Managed Process), which has not yet reached the targeted Level 3 (Established Process). Therefore, formal procedures, risk registers, and improved risk mitigation mechanisms are required to achieve more systematic and proactive IT risk management.

Abstract

This study aims to design and evaluate the MAVA (Malang Vacation App) prototype using User-Centered Design (UCD). MAVA is an integrated digital tourism platform providing information on destinations, culinary, and events in Malang City. The research includes five stages: plan, analysis, design, prototype, and evaluation. Data were collected through interviews and questionnaires involving tourists, business owners, and Malang Tourism Office representatives. The prototype was created using Figma and evaluated using System Usability Scale (SUS) with 20 respondents. Results showed MAVA obtained an average SUS score of 79, categorized as "Good", indicating good usability and adequate user experience. This research contributes to developing user-centered local tourism applications and supports digital transformation in Malang's tourism sector.

Abstract

The cocoa processing industry in Indonesia faces increasing challenges in maintaining production efficiency due to fluctuations in cocoa bean prices, rising operational costs, and stricter product quality requirements. One of the main issues encountered by cocoa processing companies is the occurrence of unplanned machine downtime, extended setup times, and the potential for product defects, all of which directly affect productivity and overall profitability. This study aims to analyze the efficiency of cocoa production machinery utilization at PT. XYZ, an Indonesian cocoa processing company, and to identify the primary sources of inefficiency in order to formulate sustainable improvement recommendations. This research employs a quantitative approach using a case study method. The analysis techniques applied include Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), and machine utilization ratios. The study focuses on key production machines, namely the cleaner–winnower, alkalizer roasting machine, fuel end unit, and liquor tank, based on realistic hypothetical data that represent daily operational conditions. The results indicate that the OEE value of the roasting machine reaches 79.28%, consisting of an availability rate of 81.25%, a performance rate of 100%, and a quality rate of 97.44%. This OEE level remains below the industry benchmark of 85%, with unplanned downtime and setup losses identified as the dominant contributors to inefficiency. These findings suggest that implementing preventive maintenance, optimizing setup time through the Single-Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) approach, and enhancing real-time quality control can significantly improve machine productivity and support the long-term profitability of PT. XYZ amid volatile cocoa market conditions.

Abstract

The use of technology in the business sector can significantly improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency. A waterboom is one of the tourism businesses that is highly popular among the public. One of the main problems encountered in the manual ticket purchasing process is long queues, especially during long holiday periods when the number of visitors increases, resulting in ticketing congestion. This condition leads to inefficiencies and reduces visitor convenience. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a waterboom information system that not only provides information about waterboom facilities but also enables online ticket purchasing, so that visitor queues can be reduced and ticket accumulation can be avoided. In addition, the system can assist management in monitoring and managing ticket sales more effectively. In designing the infrastructure of a mobile-based application system, Unified Modeling Language (UML) is used as a design modeling tool. UML is a visual modeling language that supports the system design process and helps minimize errors during application development. The proposed ticketing application is developed using several technologies, including Eclipse as an integrated development environment (IDE) for smartphone platforms, PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) as the programming language, and MySQL as the database management system.

Abstract

The quality standards in the assembly process of hoses and connectors for drape products at PT XYZ still face issues related to the high number of non-conforming products (NG), caused by difficulties in assembling the hose to the connector due to uneven and imprecise hose cutting results. This condition leads to increased customer complaints due to installation difficulties on the user's side. Additionally, the variation in hose cutting results causes inconsistencies in product quality, increasing the risk of production cost wastage. This study aims to identify the main causes of defects in the hose and connector assembly process and formulate a systematic improvement proposal to reduce NG levels and enhance the production process quality. The method used is Quality Control Circle (QCC) with an eight-step PDCA approach. Data collection techniques include direct observation in the production area, interviews with operators and related teams, and analysis of historical NG product documentation. Root cause analysis is carried out using the Seven Tools of Quality, particularly the Pareto chart and fishbone diagram, to determine the dominant factors causing the issue. The results show that the main cause of defects comes from the manual and imprecise hose cutting method, which complicates the connector assembly process. The proposed improvements, including the design and implementation of a hose cutting machine, the use of cutting jigs, and operator training, have proven effective in reducing NG levels and improving the consistency of the hose and connector assembly process quality.
