Abstract

This program aims to provide solutions and assistance in the utilization and processing of natural resources (Cyprinus) which are potential to have a selling value in Bantimurung, Maros. Assistance is given to increase knowledge and skills in increasing the durability or long- lasting that it can increase the selling price and can be used as an alternative source of new employment opportunities for community members, especially for farmers housewives and girls who drop out of school. The activities carried out were giving training with training materials, including: 1) processing of raw material for into sweet fish products processed by home industries and 2) counseling of product marketing, and the packaging process so that quality products are produced and able to compete. The implementation model of this activity was carried out directly (face-to-face) through training and demonstrations as was the case with the dialogue between the implementing team and activity participants, namely the Mawar Farmers Group and the Mekar Farmers Group in Bantimurung. The results of this programe, Mawar and Mekar Farmers Group leads to the mastery of knowledge and skills so that they can run continuously and can improve the economy of their members.

Abstract

Tamarunang is located approximately 10 km fromMakassar, and about 4 km from the border of Makassar Cityand Gowa Regency. As a developing area, TamarunangVillage is a reference for developers to build urbancommunities houses. The urbanization makes the growth ofhousing development more rapid. This has an impact onrainwater catchment areas turned into residential housing areas.The problems faced in this community partnership programsare: 1) the living area of partner 1 and 2 have poor drainageand reduced rain water catchment areas, 2) the impact of poordrainage causes water to overflow and pool on the public roadsand yard, 3) the garbage and sedimentation that accumulates inthe drainage causes clogged water flow, 4) due to thedevelopment of housing construction, causing the flowdirection and pattern of environmental drainage flow in thepartner area to be unclear. The method used in this communitypartnership program is mentoring method and participatoryrural approach (PRA) method. The mentoring method wascarried out to change the community's paradigm of thinking inhandling environmental drainage, increasing the community'sunderstanding of environmental cleanliness and structuring,and facilitating partners in making infiltration drainage, flowdirection maps, and environmental arrangement. The PRAmethod is carried out to arouse the partner's sense of belongingto the product to be developed, and the partner's sense ofresponsibility towards the products and environment thatsurrounds them. The main method adopted in this CommunityPartnership Program (PKM) activity is the time of presentationof counseling material, the method used is lecture, discussion,question and answer, and simulation, while during the practiceof making infiltration drainage, the method used isdemonstration. The results are the installation of biopori pipes,overflowing water and pooling on the road and the people'shome page has been reduced, and rainwater does not causestanding water on the road and downstream of the housingarea. And the construction of the drainage channel is intendedso that the drainage channel is not blocked again which cancause water to overflow into the highway.

Abstract

This Community Partnership Program (PKM)conducted at SDIT Ar-Rahmah Makassar. The purposes of thisactivity are to a) improve teachers' knowledge and skills inunderstanding mathematical concepts; b) increase teachers'knowledge and skills in utilizing learning media inunderstanding mathematical concepts; and c) increase teachers'knowledge and skills in learning mathematical concepts forlow classes. The teachers' problems are a) insufficientknowledge and skills about the use of media in learningmathematics; b) insufficient knowledge and skills inunderstanding mathematical concepts; and c) lack ofknowledge and skills in utilizing media in understandingmathematical concepts. The methods used in this program aretraining, mentoring, and discussion between team andteachers. This method is carried out to 15 teachers andsubsequently evaluation and monitoring session are carried outperiodically for 3 months. The results of this study showed that1) teachers' skills and knowledge are improved; 2) teachers areable to utilize media in understanding low-grade mathematicalconcepts; and 3) publications in mass media or journals withISSN.

Abstract

This Community Partnership Program (PKM) conducted at Bunga Asya Kindergarten in Makassar. The purposes of this activity are to increase a) knowledge and skills of parents and teachers of kindergarten (partners) on the importance of hygiene and health; b) partners' understanding on organic and inorganic waste in schools; and c) partners' knowledge and skills in understanding and utilizing organic waste. The identified problems are a) insufficient knowledge and skills about hygiene and health; b) insufficient knowledge and skills regarding organic and inorganic waste; and c) insufficient knowledge and skills in utilizing organic and inorganic waste. The methods used is this program are training, mentoring, and discussion between team and partners. This program involved 30 participants which then evaluation and monitoring are carried out periodically for 3 months. The results of this program showed that 1) skills and knowledge of the partners are improved; 2) partner groups were able to utilize organic and inorganic waste, and 3) publication in mass media or journals with ISSN.

Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to improve the qualityof local language learning. Therefore, the quality of locallanguage teachers must be continuously improved, both interms of curriculum implementation, preparation of learningmedia, mastering local language materials, implementinglanguage learning models, and learning assessment systems. Inthis program, several stages were carried out, namely (1)preparation: opening and distributing pre-tests and trainingcontracts; (2) presentation of materials; (3) practice andsimulation; (4) mentoring; (5) evaluation. This program wascarried out with a number of partners including the Head ofEducation, Culture, Youth and Sports Office in Takalar whohad given permission to organize this program in his workingarea as well as teachers in Local Language Teacher WorkingGroup in Takalar as a forum to improve teachersā€Ÿprofessionalism through joint trainings. Through this activity,the results showed that local language teachers (in primary andsecondary schools) in Takalar had adequate knowledge aboutthe Curriculum 2013 (K-13), especially the BasicCompetencies and Indicators of Makassar Local LanguageLearning; the teachers are skillful in developing syllabus andlesson plan based on the K-13 with scientific approach; andthe teachers are skillful in developing teaching materials basedon learning objectives, indicators, and basic competencies thathave been formulated.

Abstract

The most effective and faster direction forempowering rural communities to achieve goals through thepreparation of activities. The purpose of this communityservice is to increas the knowledge and skills of the villagecommunity in preparing activity plans, in relation to thevillage fund program in Arasoe Village of Bone Regency.Activities in this workshop covers lectures, question andanswer session, training and practice, discussion, andmentoring. This workshop involving members of communitygroups, youth organizations and village officials. The resultsshowed that the attendance during the workshop reached 85%,participants understand of the importance of empowering ruralcommunities through making plans for each activity and ableto make an action plan that could be realized. Most of themstill think that physical development is more important thanempowerment. Therefore, physical development is choose informulating activity plans. Community interest in makingplans for activities to develop the village means a lot to theimplementation of the village fund program.

Abstract

The problems in VMT program are 1) the partnerindustry does not know variety of motif designs and does notrecognize color dyeing techniques using Indogosol dyes thatcan last longer and do not fade and 2) the partner industry onlyused limited range of colors. The Multi-Year Vucer Programaims to improve the quality of product design and silkcoloring, to develop silk color variations as an effort toincrease sale production and to introduce color dyeing usingIndogosol which utilizing the sunlight in the process ofcoloring. This effort is carried out as an effort to increaseselling value and production of silk and weaving businesslocated in Sempange village of Tana Sitolo district in Wajoregency. The method used in this program were lectures,discussion, demonstration and question and answer session.The results showed that the small-scale industry can makevaried motif designs with coloring techniques using Indogosoldyes that are resistant and can increase their sale productionand they finally able to develop color variations according toconsumer needs and trends in market as an effort to increasethe sale value of export products.

Abstract

The Curriculum of 2013 (K-13) requires the teaching for every subject at an integrated level, known as thematic teaching, which means that on one theme may link several subjects to that particular subject. After evaluating the implementation of K-13, the revised edition provides exceptions for teaching mathematics. The main problem faced by Math teachers is their understanding of basic concepts in mathematics still low, there are still various materials that they do not know and they often difficult to solve particular math problems. This program aims to help upper class teachers in the 7th cluster of Ujung district in Pare-Pare in understanding the basic concepts of Mathematics, helping to solve problems that are considered difficult and Math modules that are difficult to teach. This program is an intensive workshop for teaching Math. The method used in this workshop is interactive coaching. The trainer and the participants are working together to solve Math problems and the participants also equipped with independent tasks which indicate their progress in knowledge and understanding of basic concept of Mathematics.

Abstract

Tomasaju village of North Galesong district inTakalar regency has promising potential in fishery andagricultural. However, this condition does not make thecommunity healthier and prosperous. The problems found thatthe community 1) lack of facilities in processing and utilizingfisheries potential, 2) lack of general knowledge in managingagricultural products, 3) lack of knowledge about businessmanagement, and 4) lack of skills in packaging design. Thismain purpose of this program is processing fish into variousproducts made of fishes (fish biscuits, nugget, and abon),exploring Moringa plant into other agricultural products withhigher economic value, teaching business management andpackaging design. Thus, by conducting this program, it isexpected that their quality of life and income will improve.The target groups in this program are fishermen/ farmers,groups of housewives, young women, youth groups, and smallindustries that live in the targetted location. The methods usedare training, mentoring, lectures, practices and demonstrations.This program also involves partner institutions such as,Regional Government of Wajo and community leaders inNorth Galesong district. The number of students involved inthis program is 50 students from varied disciplines. The resultsof this study showed that 1) the community able to producedvaried fish products such as nugget, abon made of fish, 2) fishbiscuits, 3) noodle made of Moringa, and 4) the communityestablished their business management system, as well as theirproduct packaging design. Thus, it is expected that theirquality of life in Tomasaju village increased including theirincome.

Abstract

This Community Partnership Program (PKM) were held at Paladang village of Pinrang regency. The purposes of this activity are to increase farmers' knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship, in processing eggplant/ banana into various valued products, in making expense book tracker, and in managing finances and marketing of the business. Problems found in the community showed that they lack of knowledge about entrepreneurship, lack of knowledge and skills on how to process eggplant/ banana into varied products with higher economic value, and the lack of knowledge and skills in managing finances and marketing. The methods used in program were training, mentoring, discussion and counselling in collaboration between the team and farmer groups. This method is carried out for two groups. The first group consists of 6 people and 5 people belongs to the second group. Evaluation and monitoring are carried out periodically for 4 months. The results showed that 1) the participants show improvement in skills knowledge in terms of entrepreneurship; 2) the participants improved their ability and skills in producing various products from eggplant with good economic value; and 3) the participants able to produce eggplant barongko and eggplant nuggets.
