Abstract

This activity was carried out to develop astrengthening model of elementary school through theimplementation of School Based Management (SBM) throughthe availability of relevant school planning documents andimprovement community participation (PSM). The results ofproblems identification and potential for the implementation ofSBM at SDN 01 Pekkae in Tanete Rilau district of Barruregency shows that some activities needed beforeimplementing the program, such as 1) preparation of schoolstrategic plans based on its excellence and character education,2) preparation of excellence-based school programs, and 3)formulation of school programs based on character education.As a result of the implementation of this activity are 1) theavailability of the school strategic plan for the 2018-2023period, 2) the availability of school programs based on itsexcellence programs for the 2018/2019 academic year, and 3)the availability of school programs based on charactereducation for the 2018/2019 academic year. Through thisactivity, generally other results have also achieved: 1)Increased understanding of principals, teachers, schoolcommittees, and community leaders about school-basedmanagement; 2) Increased capacity of principals, teachers,school committee members, in implementing theimplementation of SBM in schools and in the community; and3) Increasing participation of the community in improvingschool quality.

Abstract

The majority of people in Benteng Village, SelayarRegency work as farmers and breeders. The problem faced bythe community (broiler breeder families) is the management ofthe chicken business that is still weak, especially broilerlivestock and inadequate management and ration availability.The solution offered through this service program wasintended to train farmers in Benteng Village about how toimprove the management of the chicken business, as well asthe management and manufacture of chicken rations,especially for chicken broilers. The target group of thisprogram was the chicken farmers. The activities consisted ofprovidingan understanding to farmers in terms of improvinginsight, knowledge, ability, skills, and confidence in compilingbroiler rations that will produce broilers that are low in fat andcholesterol. The method used in this training was to conductcounseling in the form of presentations and question andanswer, conduct training for participants in preparing broilerrations, and conduct discussions with participants to resolverelated issues regarding broiler feed that will produce low fatand cholesterol broilers. The community service program alsoinvolved partner institutions, the Government of SelayarIslands Regency and Community Leaders in Benteng District.

Abstract

Rice straw has not been assessed as a product thathas economic value. In a straw-intensive farming system, it isoften regarded as crop residues that disturb land managementand rice cultivation. Farmers burn straw at a place a few daysafter the rice is harvested. The main purpose of straw-burningstraw is to get rid of straw from the rice fields in a practicalway. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct training for thecommunity so that they can utilize rice straw into organicfertilizer. This community service activity was carried out for3 days in a row. The result of this training is that the farmingcommunity in Bonto Macinna village is able to manage orutilize rice straw into organic fertilizer.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship is one of medium to developstudents’ potential, creativity, and innovation. The maincharacteristic of entrepreneurship program in Faculty ofTeaching and Education, Universitas Cokroaminoto Palopo iseducation-based entrepreneurship. Warung Pendidikan orWarpen is one of innovations developed by our faculty, whichsynergizes business matters and education. Warpen coversseveral business such as Warpen Accessories, WarpenTutoring, Warpen Data Analysis, and Warpen Design. Theimplementation of entrepreneurship program in our faculty aretaken from students’ tenants who participated in Students’Entrepreneurship Competition, other entrepreneurshipactivities, and graduates from our faculty who run their ownbusiness. The purpose of this program is to develop andimprove students understanding and skills as entrepreneur andproduce five independent, competitive, and technology-basedbusinesses in our faculty.

Abstract

Dried prawn noodles is one of the foods that isfavored by Indonesian people since the taste is crunchy andtasty, healthy, and it can be used as a souvenir. Dried prawnnoodles have a long shelf life, but they are hygroscopic so theyare easily damaged and the additional protection is needed.Most of home industries, including dried prawn noodlesindustries in the Sandrobone District, Takalar, generally do notconduct a good way of packing. Thus, the noodles are easilydamaged and lose its taste. The aim of implementing theCommunity Partnership Program in packaging and labeling ofdried prawn noodles was to improve the knowledge and skillsof participants in the Sanrobone District of Takalar Regency.The activities included: (1) Implementation of the CommunityPartnership Program in the Sanrobone District on packagingand labeling training of dried prawn noodles was an effectiveand efficient way to introduce dried prawn noodle products,especially for the new entrepreneurs; (2) This training as partof the Community Partnership Program was not onlyincreasing participants’ knowledge, but also could improve theskills of participants in choosing the type of packaging thatwas suitable for dried prawn noodles and the participants ableto make their own product labels; (3) This packaging andlabeling training of dried prawn noodles was supported by thepeople in the Sanrobone District. It was evidenced by theratings obtained from questionnaires. The average score was3.49 or categorized as good.

Abstract

This training activity aimed to enable disabledparticipants to gain additional knowledge and abilities relatedto the field of electronics, especially repairs and maintenanceof household electronic equipment, which can be used as aprovision for independent living in the community. Thetraining process was performed using lecture anddemonstration methods as well as direct practice. After that,the mentoring program was conducted to evaluate theparticipants' ability to the material provided. As the evaluation,participants’ was given damaged household electronics to berepaired. The results of this training activity were that thetraining participants presented agreement statements with amean score of 4.20 from the four assessment criteria, includingthe competitiveness of human resources, application of scienceand technology, community values and implementation ofservice. In addition, questions about the entrepreneurial spiritgot a score of 4.11, an explanation of the work procedure bythe speaker is easy to understand (score 4.20) and the skillsacquired in this training are needed by the surroundingcommunity (score 4.40). Finally, the partner manager'sresponse to this activity was very positive. This activity wasalso beneficial for participants and partners. They hope thatthis activity will be continued in the following years with moreparticipants.

Abstract

This program aims to create access to the creation ofnew entrepreneurs by developing / training students to haveproduction process skills in the field of healthy food chemistryand chemistry and having the skills to run businesses based onlocal food products. The program also aims to encourage thedevelopment of lecturer and student research results to beutilized and socialized. One of the products produced in thisprogram is Sarabba Instan. Sarabba Instan is a traditionalBugis-Makassar health drink made from ginger Enrekang.Instant Sarabba is made through several stages of production,namely stripping, drying, extracting ginger juice, stirring, anddrying. In this program, the production of instant sarabba iscarried out until the taste and processing are stable with theselection of quality basic ingredients. Organoleptic testing isdone to determine the level of consumer preference for InstantSarabba. Organoleptic testing was carried out by panelistsfrom several circles on campus, namely lecturers, staff, andstudents. The results showed that the three groups likedSarabba Instan with a percentage of preference of 90.91%,85.72%, and 66.68% respectively for lecturers, employees, andstudents. Sarabba Instan is a superior food innovation productbecause of its more practical and healthy presentation. TheSarabba Instan PPUPIK program is an instant productioncenter for Sarabba conducting Training, Seminar workshops,entrepreneurial exhibitions for students who have and want torun a business and community who need coaching.

Abstract

This study aims to depict the ability of secondsemester students of Indonesian and Literature Study Programin Faculty of Language and Literature in Universitas NegeriMakassar regarding the subject-verb agreement in English andthe ability to make sentences in English correctly both spokenor written. The methods employed in this study werepresentation and training. The majority of the participants(90%) are able to apply their knowledge and understanding,express present tense sentences properly and correctly both inspoken and written and 10% of them still make errors.Participants activeness is indicated by their positive attitude,motivation, confidence, and responsibility in practicing anddoing their tasks, which support their knowledge andunderstanding in subject-verb agreement materials. Based onthe observations and evaluation, each assignment given to thetraining participants had a significant impact on theirknowledge and understanding of the suitability between thesubject and the predicate in English sentence structure.

Abstract

Folklore is a story that originates from thecommunity and develops in society in a descending way and itis delivered orally. The younger generation at this time hasbegun to be less interested in folklore because it is deemedirrelevant to the times of the modern era of globalization. Theydo not realize that there are many moral stories in folklore.Based on that problem, the community action program wasmade. The program title was “Creating Radio Drama by themembers of Literary Studio of FBS UNM". It aimed to makefolklore packed in audio media as an alternative medium.Thus, people who are involved in the activity do not onlyknow the contents of the story but also feel the events thathappened in that folklore. In the end, they will find out themoral stories of folklore that is made so that the story remainssustainable as a cultural wealth that is owned. The activity wascarried out at the Literary Studio of FBS UNM which tookplace at Daeng Tata Raya Street, UNM Parang TambungCampus. This activity resulted; (1) the radio drama becomes anew media to be done in the Literary Studio of FBS UNM, (2)through this activity, the members of the Literary Studio ofFBS UNM are familiar with radio drama and know the workprocess of its creation which is a creative work process thatprioritizes audio as an art expression medium, (3) the radiodrama is produced based on folklore and eventually becomesan alternative media for preservation.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to introduceMacromedia Flash software to teachers of SMK Negeri 1 Takalar and to train teachers of SMK Negeri 1 Takalar tocreate learning media. The output of this study is the learningmedia used in the learning process and the improvement of thequality of learning by clarifying the presentation of messagesso that they are not verbalistic, eliminating passivity on thesubject of learning, and raising motivation in the subject oflearning. The results of this research are learning mediacreated by teachers of SMK 1 Takalar by looking at their highenthusiasm and motivation to apply the learning media. Inaddition, adequate school facilities and infrastructure and someyoung teachers who already have initial media skillspresentation media, especially Microsoft PowerPoint.
