Abstract

This study is an experimental study that aims to determine the increasing of concept mastery and the students critical thinking skills in Optical materials using Interactive Multimedia (MMI) based learning model. Optical materials in this study is limited to the Geometry Optics material. Research design using pre-test - post-test control group design. The population in this study were all students of class X SMA Negeri 2 Mataram Academic Year 2012/2013. Sampling using random cluster sampling, the students of class X-1 as the experimental group and the students of class X-3 as a control group. The increasing data of concepts mastery and critical thinking skills of students were analyzed using t-test formula two parties polled variance and N-gain test. At the significant level of 5% and dk of 79 obtained that ttest is more than ttable (5.198> 1.993). It is obtained for the experimental class N-gain of 71.338% with a high category, whereas for the control class derived N-gain of 60.261% with moderate category. Thus, it can be concluded that the increasing mastery of concepts and critical thinking skills of students in the material Optics, Optics Geometry in this case, in experiments class using the Interactive Multimedia-based learning model (MMI) is higher than in the control class that uses a conventional learning models.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve science process skills of students in learning physics through program using the inquiry learning model. This research is action research through the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection, its are implemented in cyclical form. The subjects were students of biology education courses that take the course Physics I in the first semester of academic year 2013/2014. The instrument in this study using the Performance Appraisal Sheet Process (PASP) based on woorksheet to obtain data of science process skills of students. The results showed that as many as 75 % of students have a science process skills with good category, 17 % of students with unfavorable category, 8 % of students categorized as very poor (bad). As for each component of science process skills, students appear to difficulties in conducting data analysis with a score of 59,8 but both in carrying out experiments with a score of 70,5. From the research that has been done can be concluded that the learning program using the inquiry model in physics learning can improve student science process skills.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a learning module to improve the comprehention of basic statistical concepts statistical analysis on physical education students the academic year 2013/2014. This research is a development . 4-D model of development is a model of device  development learning . 4-D development model consists of four main stages , namely : 1 . Define  , 2 . Design, 3 . Develop and 4 . Disseminate. The subjects of this study were students taking a basic statistics course in semester III . Data analysis using descriptive analysis and percentage . The results showed that the use of learning modules to improve comprehention of the concept is in the category of complete comprehention . While student responses to the learning module used in the results obtained 71.5 % strongly agreed , and 28.5 % agreed .

Abstract

Students are required to learn in solving problems in the form of tasks taken. This study aims to find the effect of recitation methods to improve physics learning outcomes and physical learning outcomes in grade VIII students MTs Nunggi. The method used is experimental research. The results showed that the students' activity in the experimental class was very active (average score 3.67) and the control class was quite active (average score 2.33). Teacher activity in the experimental class has been very active (average score 3.67) and in the control class is quite active (average score 2.16). Student learning result data that in experiment and control class is processed using t-test equation. The t-test value is 2.79 at the 5% significance level of 2.79 and the t-table (t-test> t-table). Therefore the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. We conclude that the method of recitation for improving physics learning outcomes in grade VII MTS Nunggi has an effect of 13.63%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) The effect of guided inquiry learning model based on real laboratory and virtual laboratory on students' cognitive learning outcomes; (2) Effects of guided inquiry learning model based on real laboratory and virtual laboratory on students' psychomotor learning outcomes. The study sample consisted of the first experimental class of 34 students and the second class of 33 students. This research used randomized post-test control group design. Data were analyzed using independent sample t-test statistic technique with SPSS 19 for windows. The result of statistical analysis at 5% significant level shows: (1) the t-test value for the cognitive domain of -2.407 at sig.0.019; (2) the t-test value for the psychomotor domain is -5.595 on the sig. 0.00. However it can be concluded: (1) There is a significant difference in the cognitive learning outcomes of physics learners using guided inquiry based inquiry model based on real laboratory and virtual lab; (2) there is a significant difference in psychomotor learning result of physics learners using guided inquiry model based on real laboratory and virtual lab.

Abstract

The research was conducted to improve the Critical Thinking Capability in detail: 1) Describe the thematic-integrative worksheet on integrated IPA Subjects, 2) Measure the critical thinking skills of students as the effect of the thematic-integrative Worksheet material, and 3) Describe the student's response to the teaching material Worksheet thematic-integrative. The resulting product development is an thematic-integrative Worksheet to support a learning process that can improve critical thinking skills. The thematic-integrative worksheets developed have met the criteria of validity and according to the expert. The test results have shown that the thematic-integrative Worksheet teaching materials are more effective. All learning tools used are in valid categories and are eligible for use. The results of the first trial showed that students' critical thinking skills were averaged 76.7 (critical categories), while the second test reached an average of 84.4 (very critical). Based on the analysis result, it is found that the thematic-integrative worksheet developed can develop critical thinking skill.

Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk (1) meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa, (2) meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, dengan menerapkan pendekatan Sains-Teknologi-Masyarakat dan Lingkungan (STML) dalam pembelajaran Rangkaian Listrik dan Hukum Ohm. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X-C MAN Sengkol tahun pelajaran 2011/2012, dengan jumlah siswa 22 orang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 (dua) siklus dengan teknik pengumpulan data; (1) data aktivitas belajar dikumpul dengan pedoman observasi, (2) data hasil belajar dikumpulkan dengan tes hasil belajar. Selanjutnya data dalam penelitian ini dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) aktivitas belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dari kualifikasi kurang aktif dengan rata-rata 6,91 pada siklus I menjadi kualifikasi aktif dengan rata-rata 11,72 pada siklus II, (2) hasil belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dari kualifikasi belum tuntas dengan rata-rata 65,4 pada siklus I dan ketuntasan klasikal 57,78% meningkat menjadi rata-rata 74,16 dan ketuntasan klasikal 86,67% pada siklus II. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan STML dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran rangkaian listrik dan hukum Ohm.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to know the information of the relevancy of civil engineering expertise study program on occupation obtained by the graduates of Secondary Vocational School in Lombok Barat regency. Data was gathered by using questionnaire analysis from 50 graduates of civil engineering expertise study program of 2007 and 2008 academic years and data was analyzed by using descriptive technique. The findings show that (1) the relevancy of occupation, expertise, and knowledge for steel construction technique has means of 12.20, 8.92 and 10.37 respectively and those three belong to irrelevant category; (2) the relevancy of occupation, expertise, and knowledge for wood construction technique has means of 38.86, 28.00, and 32.41 respectively, and those three belong to irrelevant category; (3) the relevancy of occupation, expertise, and knowledge for stone and concrete construction technique has means of 70.73, 54.88, and 65.85 and those three belong to relevant category; (4) the relevancy of occupation, expertise, and knowledge for construction sketch has means of  82.04, 65.32, and 81.15, and those three belong to relevant category.

Abstract

This study is an experimental study that aims to knows the influence of participative learning model used problem solving methode towards learning physics achievement of studens in SMPN 3 Batukliang. Research design using pre-test - post-test control group design. Sampling using random cluster sampling, the students of class VIII-A as the experimental group and the students of class VIII-B as a control group. The learning physics achievement data of students were analyzed using t-test formula two parties polled variance. At the significant level of 5% and dk of 53 obtained that ttest is less than ttable (1.66< 2.007). Because  that ttest is less than ttable  therefore H0 is accepted and Ha is rejected. Therefore, it can be  concluded that the participative learning model used problem solving methode is not influential significantly towards learning physics achievement of studens in SMPN 3 Batukliang.

Abstract

Media is an important role in the learning process which will give effect to the understanding of the concepts and the learning result of students. Expected with the development of animation media based macromedia flash containing music and image features can provide a learning environment that is different from the usual. The purpose of this research is to develop an optical media-based animation tools of Macromedia Flash on the subjects of Physics Optical. The method used in this research is a method Research and development (R & D). The results show the development of media-based animation Macromedia Flash is needed creativity that generated media interest. The contents in the media based on the assessment of the three experts said optical media content animation tools are very good and worth using.
