Abstract

This research aim to increase students’ critical thinking skill by using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). This research is class room action research which use the quantitative approach. Subject of the research is VIII grade students’ and object of the research is students’ critical thinking skill in SMPN 5 Narmada. The instrument of the research is the critical thingking skill test. The data collection technique in this research is test and observation sheet, the test is used to measure the critical thingking skill whether the observation sheet is used to measure students’ and teacher activity. The result of research shows that the application of Contxtual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach can increase students’ critical thinking skill. This can be seen from the data analysis result where the I cyrcle reach 49,91 and the II cyrcle reach 80,00 which involve in critical category.

Abstract

This study was aimed to analyzethe effect of project based learning model to understanding concepts  and critical thinking skills in optics lecture at undergraduate student of Physics Educational Program of IKIP Mataram in academic year 2013/2014. This study included in quasi experiment with posttest onlycontrol group design. All of 75 populations are included as sample. The datawere analyzed with multivariate analysis (MANOVA).The conclusion can be stated based on analysis result is (1) project based learning model having an effect on understandingconcepts of undergraduate students ((Fcal = 37,88 > Ftable = 3,91), with pvalue<0,05. (2) project based learning model having an effect on critical thinking skill of undergraduate students ((Fcal = 5,47 > Ftable = 3,91), with pvalue<0,05. (3) project based learning model having an effect on both understandingconcepts and critical thinking of undergraduate students ((Fcal = 34,86 > Ftable = 3,91), with pvalue<0,05.

Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk (1) meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa, (2) meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, dengan menerapkan pendekatan Sains-Teknologi-Masyarakat dan Lingkungan (STML) dalam pembelajaran Rangkaian Listrik dan Hukum Ohm. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X-C MAN Sengkol tahun pelajaran 2011/2012, dengan jumlah siswa 22 orang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 (dua) siklus dengan teknik pengumpulan data; (1) data aktivitas belajar dikumpul dengan pedoman observasi, (2) data hasil belajar dikumpulkan dengan tes hasil belajar. Selanjutnya data dalam penelitian ini dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) aktivitas belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dari kualifikasi kurang aktif dengan rata-rata 6,91 pada siklus I menjadi kualifikasi aktif dengan rata-rata 11,72 pada siklus II, (2) hasil belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dari kualifikasi belum tuntas dengan rata-rata 65,4 pada siklus I dan ketuntasan klasikal 57,78% meningkat menjadi rata-rata 74,16 dan ketuntasan klasikal 86,67% pada siklus II. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan STML dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran rangkaian listrik dan hukum Ohm.

Abstract

Science Process Skills have an important function in the process of student curiosity and scholarship, so it is necessary to do a description of students' science process skills. This study aims to describe students' integrated science process skills on friction material on a flat plane at SMPN 9 Muaro Jambi. The observed science process skills consist of ten observation indicators, namely experimental analysis, planning experiments, conducting experiments, describing the relationship between variables, defining variables operationally, making data tables, obtaining and processing data, making hypotheses, identifying variables and making graphs. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive type. The research subjects were students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 9 Muaro Jambi which consisted of class VIII D and VIII E. The sampling technique was total sampling where the total sample was 40 students. While the data collection technique uses observation sheets that have been validated by a team of experts. The data that has been obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques with the help of IBM SPSS statistics software. The results of the research on students' mastery of integrated science process skills in the friction practicum on the flat plane were classified into the good category with a percentage of 57.5%. This means that students have good science process skills, because most students are skilled at doing practicum based on experimental indicators. The conclusion of this study shows that the integrated science process skills possessed by students are categorized as good.

Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in physics student learning achievement which using the worksheet oriented thinking abilityinductive with deductive. This research is experimental research (quasy experimental design). The study population was all students of class X in SMKN 3 Mataram with the study sample consisted of two classes, X GEO B and X TSM B. X GEO B class taught using worksheet  oriented thinking ability inductive and X TSM B class taught using worksheet oriented thinking ability deductive. Instruments in this study using multiple-choice test. The results of post-test data analysis obtained the average value of the two classes of samples is 81.27 (X GEO B) and 72.25 (X TSM B) so obtained tcount = 3.56, while ttable = 2.00 at significance level of 5% so that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) accepted. These results show that there are differences in physics learning outcomes of students who use the worksheet oriented thinking ability inductive with deductive.

Abstract

This study is a quasi experimental study that aims to determine the effect of using direct instruction model with animation media to the academic achievement of physiscs in student class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Batu Layar. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Batu Layar that were 87 students. Whereas the students of class VIIIA which are 22 students as the experimental group and 22 students of class VIIIC as a control group. Sampling methode was random cluster sampling. The Research design using pre-test - post-test control group design. Based on Pre-test result, the average mark of class VIIIA and class VIIIC were 24.70 and 28.95, respectively. Post-test result gave the information that the average mark of class VIIIA and class VIIIC were 79.29 and 71.62 respectively. Research hypotesis was analyzed using polled varians t-test. It can be concluded that there was a different in physics academic achievement between experimental group and control group, where the experimental group using direct  instruction model with animation media as the treatment and the control group using direct instruction only. The academic achievement of experimental group were better than control group, it can be a reason to say that the treatment by using direct instruction model with animation media gave the positive effect to the academic achievement of physiscs in student class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Batu Layar.

Abstract

[Title: The Effect of Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving Learning Model Toward Student Physics Science Learning Outcomes]. This study aims to determine the effect of learning model Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving on the results of science learning Physics Class VIII SMPN 6 Praya Timur. This research is a quasi-experimental research with Posttes -Only Control Design research design. The samples of this research are taken using Purposive Sampling technique with class VIIIc as the experiment class is 24 students and VIIId as the control class is 24 students. The instrument used in the form of test description in the form of 10 questions that are tailored to the learning indicators. The result of data analysis obtained using t-test at 5% significant level shows that the value of tcount> ttable (tcount = 0.634 & ttable = 0201) then Ha in receipt. so it can be concluded that the learning model Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving can affect the results of science learning Physics Student.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) model on the students’ concept mastery in SMAN 6 Mataram, subject matter of harmonious vibration. This study is a quasi-experimental research with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population was all students of class X MIA at SMAN 6 Mataram in the 2018/2019 academic year totaling 172 students, with purposive sampling technique obtained by class X MIA 1 as an experimental class and class X MIA 3 as a control class. The concept mastery test instrument uses multiple choice questions totaling 25 items. The concept mastery data obtained were analyzed using t-test with a significance level (α) of 5%. Hypothesis test results indicate that the t-count is greater than t-table, that is 2.482 is greater than 2.020, so that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, there is an effect of the Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) model on students' concept mastery.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in SMKN 1 Gerung considered by some students is a difficult and tedious lesson. Learning is still teacher-centered and leads to reduced activity and enthusiasm for students in learning. The purpose of this study is to improve student activity and achievement using Jerold E. Kemp-based PQ4R method on the subject matter of linear program of students of class X-TSM SMKN 1 Gerung academic year 2012/2013. This study was conducted using classroom action research (PTK). The number of subjects in this study was 24 people. Observation data of student and teacher activity is qualitative and student learning evaluation is quantitative data. The instruments used are RPP, student and teacher observation sheets, LKS, and evaluation tests. The results showed that there is an increase in student activity and achievement from first to second cycle. Increased student learning activities can be seen in the results of the first cycle of observation I (the category is quite active) and at the second meeting (active category). In cycle II at session I and II (active category). The completeness of learning cycle I is 56.52%, because in the first cycle of classical completeness has not met the required ≥85% of students who got the value of ≥75 then the research continued into the second cycle. Finally, through the improvements obtained classical completeness in the second cycle reached 87.50%. It can be concluded that the application of Jerold E. Kemp theory based on PQ4R method can increase student activity and achievement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis dan persentase bahan perekat yang digunakan, terhadap nilai kalor dan laju pembakaran biobriket kulit durian. Bahan utama yang digunakan dalam pembuatan biobriket yaitu kulit durian. Bahan perekat yang digunakan adalah tepung tapioka, tepung beras, dan semen dengan persentase masing-masing 10%, 15%, dan 20%. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan kajian literatur yang dilakukan dalam tiga tahap yaitu preparasi bahan, pembuatan biobriket, dan pengujian biobriket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai kalor biobriket berkisar antara 2509,50 cal – 5771,85 cal dan laju pembakaran berkisar 1,80 gr/menit–2,62 gr/menit. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian diketahui bahwa penambahan bahan perekat menyebabkan laju pembakaran biobriket cenderung meningkat namun nilai kalor cenderung menurun.Effect of Type and Percentage of Durian Peel-Based Biobriquette Adhesives on Calorific Value and Combustion RateAbstractThis study aims to determine the effect of the type and percentage of adhesive used on the heating value and combustion rate of durian peels bio briquettes. The main ingredients used in making bribriquettes are durian peels. The adhesives used are tapioca flour, rice flour, and cement with each percentage of 10%, 15%, and 20%. This research is an experimental study with a literature review conducted in three stages, namely materials preparation, making bio briquettes, and testing briquettes. The results showed that the bio briquettes heating value ranged from 2509.50 cal – 5771.85 cal and the combustion rate 1.80 g/m – 2.62 g/m. Based on the test results that the addition of adhesive caused the combustion rate of the bio briquette to increase but the heating value tended to decrease.
