Abstract

This study presents the design and development of a Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) device aimed at improving the treatment of chronic wounds, particularly diabetic foot ulcers in patients with diabetes mellitus. The primary objective is to create an efficient, user-friendly, and portable wound therapy solution suitable for both clinical and home-based care. The device utilizes negative pressure to enhance blood perfusion, reduce exudate, and lower infection risk, thereby accelerating the healing process. The system is built using a NodeMCU ESP32 microcontroller, a vacuum motor pump, HX710 pressure sensor, solenoid valve, and a Nextion LCD interface. It supports three therapy modes—Continuous, Intermittent, and Dynamic—controlled by a PID algorithm to maintain stable pressure between -25 to -150 mmHg. Testing was conducted at three measurement points: battery voltage, sensor accuracy, and LCD interface functionality. Results indicate that the device performs effectively within expected operational parameters across all modes. The NPWT prototype offers a cost-effective, functional alternative for wound care management and shows promise for further development, including digital integration and broader clinical applications.

Abstract

Indonesia’s dependence on fossil fuels has resulted in significant environmental degradation and contributes to rising CO₂ emissions, despite the country’s vast renewable energy potential. Geothermal and solar energy, as two of the most promising clean energy sources, offer complementary characteristics that can be leveraged in hybrid power systems. This study aims to identify optimal configuration strategies for hybrid geothermal–solar systems and evaluate their operational advantages over standalone geothermal plants in the Indonesian context. Employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, this research synthesizes findings from recent literature (2012–2024) across major scientific databases. The review focuses on system design, working principles, thermodynamic performance, and implementation feasibility. Results show that preheating/superheating configurations using solar input can significantly enhance geothermal plant efficiency, increase brine enthalpy, and reduce scaling issues—common challenges in Indonesian geothermal operations. Hybrid systems demonstrate an average efficiency gain of 3–7% over conventional configurations. While these systems offer improved reliability, flexibility, and land use optimization, they also involve technical complexity and high capital costs. This study underscores the potential of geothermal–solar hybrid systems to support Indonesia’s clean energy transition by increasing plant efficiency, reducing emissions, and optimizing renewable resource utilization.

Abstract

Academic stress is a significant challenge frequently faced by final-year students and can negatively impact their mental health and academic performance. This study aims to design a user interface for a stress management application using Design Thinking methods and a biomimicry approach, an approach that mimics natural patterns and principles to create more intuitive and effective design solutions. The research process involved in-depth interviews and usability testing with final-year students as the primary respondents. The results showed that the application of biomimicry principles in interface design can create an atmosphere resembling a natural environment that supports relaxation and provides a calming effect for users. Testing using the System Usability Scale (SUS) yielded an average score of 89.38, which falls into the Acceptable and Excellent categories based on the Adjective Rating scale. These findings indicate a very good level of acceptance and a satisfactory user experience. The implementation of the Design Thinking method, starting from the empathize stage to the prototype and test, combined with the biomimicry approach, successfully produced an interface design that is not only aesthetically pleasing and functional but also effective in helping students cope with academic stress.

Abstract

Hattrick Online Game Cafe has branches in two cities, namely Pemalang and Depok. In addition, this cafe operates almost 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with cashier operations carried out on a morning and evening shift schedule. Furthermore, payments are still made in cash. These conditions have led to several challenges, such as the inability to monitor financial transactions in real time, which could result in fraud or manipulation of cash flow. Another challenge is the need for meticulous attention to detail in calculating payment amounts and cash refunds given by customers to cashiers. Cashier staff may make errors due to fatigue during their shifts, and there is also a need for cash inventory counts as a means of refunding in payment transactions. Finally, the main challenge is the need for transparent and precise financial reports for the café owner as a means of accountability to investors who have and will invest capital in the development of the Hattrick Online Game Café business. Therefore, research on the design and implementation of a backend API Payment Gateway system as a means of customer payment transactions at the Hattrick Online Game Café is expected to address all these issues.
