Abstract

This study aims to improve learning achievement by enhancing the Problem-solving learning model in science lessons on plant material in class IV students at State Elementary School 2 Segeran, Juntinyuat District, Indramayu Regency. This is a Class Action Research (CAR) conducted in 2 cycles. The research subjects were 29 Class IV students at State Elementary School 2 Segeran, Juntinyuat District, Indramayu Regency. Research data was obtained through tests, observations, and documentation. Data analysis used a qualitative descriptive analysis technique. The study results showed an increase in the learning achievement of Class IV students at State Elementary School 2 Segeran, Juntinyuat District, Indramayu Regency through the Problem-solving learning model. Improvement in learning achievement is indicated by an increase in the average percentage of aspects of student learning outcomes from 41% in pre-cycle to 51% in cycle I, then increased to 82% in cycle II. Based on these results, it can be concluded that there is an increase in student learning achievement in learning through the application of the Problem-solving learning model in the Natural Sciences subject matter Plants in class IV students at State Elementary School 2 Segeran, Juntinyuat District, Indramayu Regency

Abstract

Industry growth and technological advancement have increased concerns about the environment. These concerns require companies to adopt environmental practices in their business operations. Green practices in human resources are important. However, there was no study on environmental adoption in human resources in Cambodia. The research aims to assess the extent of green human resource management practices and the relationship between these practices and competitive advantages. Researchers randomly selected a total of 100 teachers from private schools in Siem Reap province, Cambodia, for interviews. A Likert scale ranging from 1 to 5 was used in this research, with 1 indicating "strongly disagree" and 5 indicating "strongly agree." A descriptive statistic tool (mean, frequency) and an inferential statistic (multiple regression) were employed. The data was analyzed with descriptive and inferential SPSS tools. A high degree of green human resource management was found to be implemented. Green human resource practices, including staff recruitment and selection, training and development, staff performance appraisal, staff empowerment, and staff communication culture, were found to significantly and statistically predict competitive advantages. Further research should be conducted on green practices in private schools and other sectors, as well as in different geographical areas.

Abstract

Parody is a protected free expression. It is a piece of writing or music that closely mimics the style of a particular author or piece for comedic effect. The main objective of this paper is to present parodies made during the pandemic as aesthetic expression and as literary, educational art as sources of contextual literary history. Specifically, it aimed to identify and analyze the parodies to distinguish the theme, message, and the parody songs’ purpose.  The researcher believes this paper may also determine the standard terms related to COVID-19 and the effects of the pandemic on society. This paper employed the qualitative-descriptive type of literary criticism as a research design anchored on the theory of participatory culture. The results of this study identified standard terms used in the pandemic parodies as COVID-19 neologisms. In conclusion, those widely used CoViD-19 terminology could reveal the pandemic's consequences to society. It affected the economy, commerce, education, entertainment, travel, human conduct, and religion. This paper recommends that song parodies be used to teach post-pandemic contexts for historical and literary references.

Abstract

The research explores the impact of AI-assisted tools on academic English reading skills in the classroom and personalized learning among university students regarding how AI tools complement students’ assessments. To conduct this research, 24 students were divided into two groups of equal size: a control and an experimental group, which will be involved in an experimental study: one group using solely conventional methods and another group using AI-assisted tools in addition to conventional methods. The goal is to gain evidence on the effectiveness of AI-powered tools in enhancing reading comprehension, vocabulary acquisition, and critical thinking while identifying potential damage, such as overreliance on AI and ethical implications. It employed a mixed-methods approach, which involved an experimental study, survey, and semi-structured interview with students who either have or have not utilized AI for English reading learning. In the experimental research, pre-and post-tests were used to compare the differences in English academic reading scores between two groups of students. The survey was used to determine the students’ opinions on the effectiveness of AI tools, and individual semi-structured interviews were employed to obtain more detailed information. The findings posit that the involvement of AI tools in facilitating traditional teaching and learning methods has a more significant positive effect on improving academic English reading skills in educational settings, offering better convenience and effectiveness for students. However, challenges such as overreliance on AI and ethical implications were emphasized. The research provides invaluable insights into the potential benefits and challenges of evolving AI tools to enhance higher education English reading skills in educational settings.
