Abstract

The annual implementation of the Qurban requires efficient and transparant administrative management to ensure the smooth distribution of meat. To this end, a Qurban Management Information System (SIM) training was held on May 29-30, 2025, at the Roudhatul Jannah Mosque, Jayapura Hajj Dormitory. This community services aimed to improve the capacity of mosque administrators and Qurban committees in digital administrative management. This training combined theoretical and practical approaches, covering the basic concepts of the Qurban Management Information System (SIM), meat distribution strategies, and hands-on practice using digital applications. Participants included mosque administrators, Qurban committee members, and representatives of religious institutions in Jayapura. Evaluation results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding, with testimonials expressing confidence in managing Qurban digitally. The training's impact is expected to include increased transparency, time efficiency, and data accuracy in Qurban implementation. Going forward, similar training is planned to be expanded to other mosques and institutions in Papua to encourage more professional and technology-based Qurban management. The implementation of the Qurban Management Information System (SIM) not only increases accountability but also strengthens public trust in Qurban management institutions. Abstract

The church is a non-profit organization that is not oriented to seek profit but generates income which is then managed to run programs or finance church operations. The GKI Synod is the oldest Protestant organization in Papua that has a mission to spread the gospel not only to reach urban areas but also remote areas. On February 18, 1994, the GKI Synod released a technical guideline for managing church treasury which includes financial records, budgeting, financial administration, and inventory. The GKI church financial management system is called Dirham which then becomes a standard guideline for compiling church financial reports and must be used by all GKI churches in Papua. The use of Dirham as a financial recording system recognized by the GKI church cannot be fully implemented by the church treasurer. Lack of knowledge and experience is an obstacle in presenting financial reports. For this reason, this community service activity focuses on improving the understanding of basic accounting and financial transaction recording practices, using ISAK 35 as a guideline for financial accounting standards that are generally applicable in Indonesia. Implementation of community service activities at the GKI Salem Church, Kemtuk Gresi District, Jayapura Regency. The treasurer and pastor of the congregation admitted that the lack of knowledge and experience was one of the factors that hampered the process of presenting financial reports. In the future, the GKI Synod through the Classis needs to consider aspects that hinder the governance of financial presentation, namely by implementing routine financial training and socializing GKI regulations on treasury and church financial supervision. Abstract

This community service project, titled LIKE & EDIT PAPUA, was implemented with the aim of enhancing financial and digital literacy among indigenous Papuan women micro entrepreneurs, commonly known as “Mama-Mama Papua.” The program was initiated based on field findings that highlighted a lack of financial bookkeeping practices, inadequate separation of business and household finances, and very low digital literacy levels among local micro-entrepreneurs. To address these issues, the program consisted of participatory training and mentoring activities across three target villages: Abar, Skow Yambe, and Waibron. The financial literacy component (LIKE PAPUA) focused on equipping participants with skills in basic bookkeeping, such as maintaining cash books, preparing income statements, and understanding production costs. Meanwhile, the digital education component (EDIT PAPUA) trained participants to use mobile applications and online platforms to digitally market their products through social media and marketplaces like Shopee and GoFood. The project successfully empowered 62 beneficiaries by providing them with the tools to manage their business finances independently and market their products online. The measurable impact included an increase in business income, improved access to formal financial services, and higher confidence among the women in managing their enterprises. The use of culturally contextualized, participatory methods proved effective in facilitating sustainable behavioral change. This initiative demonstrates that integrating financial literacy, digital skills, and local wisdom can foster inclusive economic empowerment and has strong potential for replication in other indigenous communities in Papua and beyond. Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has created both opportunities and challenges in public health promotion, especially for Gen Z. This community engagement project, conducted by the One Health Collaboration Center at Universitas Cenderawasih, aimed to enhance digital literacy and health promotion skills among university students and the community in Hobong Village. A total of 88 participants, including 30 university students from diverse disciplines and 58 villagers, participated in a series of offline training and field surveys. The activities included training in video editing, Open Data Kit (ODK) usage, and education on gender-based violence. The outcome shows improved understanding and engagement in digital-based health promotion among participants. This project demonstrates how One Health initiatives can empower communities through interprofessional collaboration and digital tools. Abstract

This program aimed to strengthen the understanding and practical application of ethics and health communication among interdisciplinary students. Within the academic environment, effective communication and ethical behavior are fundamental in shaping students’ character as future leaders. The activity emphasized the importance of ethical communication, appropriate behavior, and dress code in campus interactions, particularly in relationships among students, faculty members, and administrative staff. Using a participatory approach, the program involved 57 students who engaged in lectures, discussions, and hands-on practice in composing academic messages. The material was delivered by three expert speakers in communication and health ethics. The results indicated an increased awareness among students regarding the significance of ethics and communication in building healthy, productive, and professional relationships within the campus environment. This article comprehensively discusses the background, implementation methods, and outcomes of the activity, which are relevant to strengthening students' interpersonal and ethical capacity. This approach is expected to serve as a cross-sectoral learning model for developing a socially, professionally, and ethically resilient young generation.
