Abstract

Myocardial infarction is a leading cause of death, disability, and decreased productivity worldwide, particularly in relation to cardiovascular disease. The aim of this study was to assess the contribution of both modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors to the incidence of myocardial infarction in a large population (32,585 patients; 26,020 male and 6,564 female). An extensive search was conducted on databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, Scopus, Medline, and Web of Science, limited to full-text articles written in English and published from 2015 onwards, using keywords such as "myocardial infarction (MI)," "epidemiology," and "risk factors." We conducted a thorough search of databases and screened articles using PRISMA guidelines. Six articles were found eligible for the study's objectives, the majority of the 32,585 subjects were males (79.8%) and aged between 61 to 70 years (59.5%). 20.4% of the subjects had a positive family history, race and ethnicity included white (32.3%), black (28.1%) and others (36.1%) and the most common modifiable risk factors were hypertension (48.9%), smoking (42.2%), hypercholesterolemia (40.9%), and diabetes (24.4%). The Mean BMI was 19.6 ranging from 25.0-39.9. Hypertension was significantly associated with gender, age, and diabetes, while hypercholesterolemia was positively associated with diabetes and hypertension. In the large population, myocardial infarction is prevalent in men and patients with hypertension. Modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors, along with coronary artery occlusion, increase with age, highlighting the importance of healthy lifestyle training and early control of modifiable risk factors to prevent cardiovascular diseases.

Abstract

Immunization is an act of providing immunity to children against diseases that could have been prevented by immunization before they were 12 months old, namely tuberculosis, polio, hepatitis B, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, and measles. Complete and regular basic immunization by getting all types of basic immunization when a child is less than 11 months old can reduce the morbidity and mortality of children under five by around 80-95%. Incomplete basic immunization can only provide maximum protection of 25-40%. The role of a mother in the immunization program is very important, because the use of health facilities by infants/children is related to factors that affect the mother. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the factors that influence the mother's basic immunization status in infants aged 12-24 months. This study used a descriptive correlation design with a cross sectional approach. The number of samples in this study were 40 people. Sampling using the total population. This research was conducted in Baruara Village, Balige District, Toba Regency in March-May 2023. The instrument in this research was a questionnaire. Data analysis used chi-square. Abstract

The antebrachial radiography examination procedure typically uses two projections, namely AP and lateral. However, at the USU General Hospital's radiology installation, radiographic examinations of the antebrachium with clinical fractures are conducted using PA and lateral projections. This study aims to determine the procedure for clinical antebrachial radiographic examination of fractures and the rationale for using PA and lateral projections. This research is qualitative, employing a case study approach. Data collection was conducted through observation, active participation, documentation, and structured interviews with radiographers, referring physicians, and radiologists. The results of the study indicate that antebrachial radiographic examinations of clinical fractures at the USU General Hospital Radiology Installation use PA and lateral projections with the elbow in a straight position. The diagnostic information produced from these examinations meets the criteria as it effectively shows both the elbow and wrist joints.
