Abstract

The research clarifies the consistent variables, including a statement of the impact of the relationship between the updated project risk management framework with its five components: governance and culture, setting objectives and strategy, performance, review, and communication and reporting, with the governance system in determining the organizational structure and responsibilities, improving transparency and reporting, and enhancing the culture of accountability and commitment, and the reflection of the relationship on enhancing the company's competitive advantage. To achieve the research objective, scientific research tools were used, including the design of a scientifically validated questionnaire prepared according to scientific research methods recognized in accounting and statistics. The most prominent conclusions reached by the research were the importance of spreading the culture of risk that accompanies the company's work and urging employees to play a positive role in helping the company transform risks and threats into opportunities that enhance and support the company's competitive advantage, while emphasizing the role of governance boards in establishing a culture of confronting these risks and managing them in recognized ways to achieve the set objectives, generate value, and enhance the company's competitive advantage. Among the most important recommendations was the necessity of having a supervisory and executive board specialized in corporate governance that plans and sets strategies and objectives consistent with these strategies, monitors the implementation process, and identifies the most important risks, gaps, and threats. Accompanying the company's operational work to contribute to enhancing the company's competitive advantage.

Abstract

This study examined the relationships between test anxiety, ambiguity tolerance and written classroom assessment performance among EFL university students. The data were gathered using Westside Test Anxiety Scale and Second Language Ambiguity Tolerance Scale along with a 15-mark written classroom assessment. Descriptive statistics were used to report the means and ranges of test anxiety and ambiguity tolerance; the results showed that most students reported high levels of test anxiety and that the levels of ambiguity tolerance varied. Correlational analyses indicated a small but statistically significant negative correlation (r = −.25, p < .05) between test anxiety and tolerance for ambiguity. Multiple regression analysis indicated that the combination of test anxiety and ambiguity tolerance explained 36% of the variance in written assessment performance (R² = .36). Finally, test anxiety was found to be a statistically significant negative predictor of students' written assessment scores, while ambiguity tolerance was a statistically significant positive predictor. Notably, students who achieved the highest scores exhibited the lowest levels of test anxiety and the highest levels of ambiguity tolerance. The results indicate that both emotional and cognitive factors are important predictors of written English as a Foreign Language (EFL) assessment performance.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the extent of people's participation in development, considering them both the means and the end, and to identify the most significant achievements in 2025 within the framework of human development in Iraq, based on the calculated index. According to the choices available to individuals, which are based on indicators (living a healthy and long life, acquiring education and knowledge, and enjoying a decent standard of living), Iraq was classified among the countries with high human development for 2025, after having consistently ranked in the middle of the indicators in reports for many years, despite the challenges facing these indicators.

Abstract

The letters inscribed at the beginnings of the Quranic chapters led the researcher to delve into their mysteries and secrets, prompting a serious investigation into the importance, significance, and sanctity of these letters, as well as the profound emotions, historical significance, and cultural references they embody. This includes exploring the ideas and stages these ideas have undergone to manifest in various themes within contemporary Iraqi art in general, and sculpture in particular. The experience of this art form has been a source of debate due to its theoretical and practical dimensions. The letters inscribed in artworks, whether as words, letters, symbols, or subtle signs, formed focal points that the researcher focused on, making them a central element in his research. The research, which includes four chapters, explores the relationship between individuals and artists, highlighting their creative abilities. The first chapter presents the problem, defined by the question: What are the manifestations of Arabic script in contemporary Iraqi art? The importance of the research and the need for it were presented. The aim of the study was to recognize the manifestations of Arabic script in contemporary Iraqi art. Chapter Two contained three sections: the first (the historical roots of Arabic script), the second (the use of Arabic script by Muslims), and the third (the formative features of Arabic script). Chapter Three dealt with the framework of the research procedures. The study population consisted of (25) works, and the sample amounted to five artworks. The researcher adopted the content analysis method as a methodology. Chapter Four: Results and Conclusions dealt with the results. The cultural and aesthetic importance of the letter lies here in the artist’s use of it, moving between diverse connotations and different forms of representation and colors that carry different meanings. In the face of all this great gift that the Arabic letter is adorned with in terms of continuity and freedom of movement, has the Iraqi artist in particular fulfilled his right and how did he derive from it the intellectual aesthetic characteristics in his artistic contribution.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the economic contribution of public spending to attracting foreign direct investment in Iraq during the period 2003–2023. Government spending is considered a key tool of fiscal policy that can improve the investment climate and boost economic activity. Public spending, particularly investment spending on developing the country's infrastructure, contributes to creating a suitable economic environment for attracting foreign capital. The research employed a descriptive-analytical approach to analyze the relationship between public expenditures and foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows in Iraq during the study period, using annual data from official bodies and international organizations. The study concluded that a relationship exists between public expenditures and FDI, as increased government spending contributes to improving infrastructure and economic services in Iraq. This enhances foreign investor confidence and encourages investment flows into the Iraqi economy. The findings also demonstrated that weak political and economic stability, coupled with heavy reliance on the oil sector, are among the most significant challenges hindering Iraq's ability to attract further foreign investment. The study recommended redirecting public spending towards productive sectors and infrastructure, improving the investment climate, strengthening economic and legislative stability, and enhancing administrative procedures and modernizing investment laws to increase foreign direct investment inflows and support economic development in Iraq.

Abstract

Groundwater underpins water security for households, agriculture, industry, and ecosystems across much of the world. Rising demand, climatic stress, and sustained abstraction have therefore increased the need for exploration methods that are both dependable and efficient. Remote sensing (RS) and geographic information systems (GIS) now play a central role in groundwater potential mapping because they allow geological, topographic, climatic, hydrological, and land-surface information to be examined together across large areas. More recently, machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and Google Earth Engine (GEE) have expanded the speed, accuracy, and spatial reach of these assessments. This review examines the recent development of RS–GIS-based groundwater exploration, with particular attention to the shift from conventional multi-criteria decision-making methods toward data-driven and explainable artificial intelligence (XAI). It evaluates commonly used groundwater conditioning factors, compares major predictive approaches, and discusses persistent limitations involving data quality, uncertainty, validation, interpretability, and model transferability. The review also considers emerging directions, including GeoAI, Digital Twins, cloud-based geospatial analysis, and hybrid modeling, and assesses their potential contribution to more sustainable groundwater management.
