Abstract

The research investigates how SMAN 5 Palu students build their historical knowledge through local history studies about Pue Lasadindi. The research is motivated by the low level of students’ understanding and awareness of local history, which is often less emphasized in classroom learning. The researchers utilized qualitative descriptive research method to investigate how the implementation process affects student learning outcomes. The research team collected data through observation and interviews and documentation work which included the school principal and one history teacher and students from class X Merdeka. The results show that using local historical knowledge in history education together with interactive learning materials and Problem Based Learning methods increases student participation and makes learning easier for them. Students demonstrate improved historical awareness reflected in their ability to appreciate local heroes, understand historical values, and develop a sense of identity and nationalism. The teacher establishes essential learning activities which help students connect their historical knowledge to their everyday experiences. The study shows that local history helps students learn both cognitive and emotional skills, so historians should use it more systematically in their teaching to enhance students' historical understanding.

Abstract

The relatively low learning outcomes of students in social studies highlight the necessity for instructional innovations that encourage active learning and meaningful knowledge construction. This research was conducted to examine the impact of the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) cooperative learning model on students’ learning outcomes regarding the topics of ocean exploration, imperialism, and colonialism among grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 07 Semarang. A quantitative approach was applied using a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group. The sample consisted of two classes, the experimental and control class, with 31 students per class. Data collection was carried out through multiple-choice pretest and posttest instruments. The data were then analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, an independent samples t-test, and N-gain analysis. The findings revealed a significant improvement in the experimental class, with the average score increasing from 67.61 to 88.26 (p < 0.001). Furthermore, the average N-gain percentage of 66.10% was categorized as moderate. The results suggest that the TSTS model has a positive and statistically significant effect on students’ social studies learning outcomes. Therefore, it can be considered an effective interactive learning strategy for classroom implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the management of the green school at SMP Negeri 8 Pemalang. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects include the principal, teachers, students, school janitors, school committee members, parents, and related partners. Data collection techniques involve interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The validity using triangulation techniques and confirmability tests. The results show that the management of the green school includes environmentally oriented school policies, an environment-based curriculum, participatory activities, and the management of environmentally friendly supporting facilities and infrastructure. This is evidenced by the following activities: (1) green school planning is carried out by incorporating aspects of environmental education and involving the surrounding community in providing input and suggestions; (2) organizing is conducted through the formation of a coordinating team according to work programs and respective roles and functions; (3) implementation is realized through various policies and activity programs, environmental-based learning, increased participation of school members, and adequate facilities and infrastructure supporting environmental education; (4) controlling is carried out through regular evaluation and monitoring activities in the form of written regulations, verbal warnings, appeals, guidance, and awards.

Abstract

This study describes the school financial management program through the stages of planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and optimization strategies to support the school well-being program at SMP Negeri 2 Pemalang. A descriptive qualitative approach was used in this study, with the principal, vice principal, treasurer, teachers, and school committee members as subjects. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observation questionnaire, and documentation. Data were then analyzed through the stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the financial planning stage was carried out systematically, based on data, and involved all parties and community elements. The financial implementation stage was conducted transparently and accountably using digital technology. The monitoring and evaluation stage used a continuous and tiered cycle encompassing formative, summative, and reflective approaches. Furthermore, the financial optimization strategy was implemented through efficient fund allocation and external partnerships to maximize priority programs. Further research is essential to explore this further and obtain more measurable results.

Abstract

College students are a group vulnerable to academic stress due to various academic demands. Academic stress can affect students’ emotional well-being, mental health, and academic performance. This study aims to examine the effects of dispositional mindfulness and social support on academic stress among students in the Guidance and Counseling Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako University. This study employs a quantitative approach using a causal-associative method. The study population consisted of 211 students from the 2018–2022 cohorts, with a sample of 138 students selected using simple random sampling based on the Slovin formula. Data collection utilized a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis with the aid of SPSS version 22 through classical assumption tests and multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study indicate that dispositional mindfulness does not have a significant effect on students’ academic stress (sig = 0.051 > 0.05). Conversely, social support had a significant effect on academic stress (sig = 0.049 < 0.05). Simultaneously, dispositional mindfulness and social support had a significant effect on academic stress (F = 3.936; sig = 0.022 < 0.05). The coefficient of determination indicated that the two variables explained 4.1% of the variation in academic stress, while the remainder was influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study. The results of this study indicate that social support plays a more significant role in helping students manage academic stress than dispositional mindfulness.

Abstract

Vocational fashion training requires effective instructional media to support procedural learning, particularly in pattern-making competencies that involve sequential measurement and construction processes. However, many training institutions still rely on conventional media that provide limited visual guidance and hinder learners’ understanding. This study aims to identify instructional challenges and analyze the needs for interactive learning media in women’s basic pattern-making competencies. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed using a needs analysis design adapted from the preliminary stage of the Borg and Gall development model. Data were collected through structured interviews with five fashion instructors at Pusat Pelatihan Kerja Daerah (PPKD) in Jakarta and analyzed using thematic analysis supported by descriptive statistics. The findings indicate that existing media such as PowerPoint presentations, printed modules, and general online videos are insufficient to support procedural understanding and independent learning. Trainees frequently experience errors in body measurement, pattern proportion, and line construction due to limited visual explanations and time constraints. The study concludes that the development of interactive learning media incorporating step-by-step visualization, simulation features, and immediate feedback is essential to enhance learning effectiveness in vocational fashion training.

Abstract

Despite broad recognition that skilled facilitation is central to Action Learning (AL) effectiveness, no prior systematic review has examined the facilitator’s roles, competencies, strategies, and challenges as its primary unit of analysis. This gap leaves educational institutions without an evidence base for developing and quality-assuring AL facilitation. This study aims to synthesise empirical evidence on how facilitators shape AL processes within leadership development contexts across four dimensions: roles, competencies, facilitative dialogue, and group dynamics management. A Systematic Literature Review following PRISMA 2020 guidelines was conducted. A structured Boolean query was applied to the Scopus database, yielding 25 empirical studies published between 2020 and 2025 after rigorous screening. Thematic analysis identified four key findings: effective facilitators enact multiple roles across a programme arc; facilitation competency requires set design knowledge, questioning mastery, reflective self-monitoring, and organisational navigation; productive dialogue depends on deliberate question sequencing and tolerance for silence; and psychological safety in AL sets is a facilitated achievement, not an inherent property of the format. The findings establish an integrated facilitation competency framework with direct implications for facilitator preparation programmes and institutional AL design. Future research should prioritise longitudinal and experimental designs to strengthen causal evidence for specific facilitation interventions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze trends, innovations, and research gaps in the development of job sheets for vocational education published in Scopus-indexed journals from 2018 to 2023. The methodology used is SLR following the PRISMA guidelines on ten selected articles synthesized to identify development patterns and methodologies. The analysis of these ten studies revealed five main trends: the dominance of the 4-D development model (used by 50% of the studies) and ADDIE (20%), increased integration of digital technology (such as AR, QR codes, virtual laboratories, and animated videos), comprehensive expert validation, emphasis on HOTS, and limitations in effectiveness testing, which was found in only one study. The analytical synthesis revealed significant research gaps, including the lack of longitudinal studies to assess long-term skill retention, limited dissemination stages, and minimal integration of Industry 4.0 competencies and smart technologies like AI. The study concludes that although job sheet development shows rapid advancements in technological and pedagogical aspects, strengthening empirical effectiveness measurements, utilizing immersive technologies, and fostering closer industry collaboration are essential. These findings provide strategic direction for future research to develop more adaptive vocational learning media that aligns with the needs of the global labor market.

Abstract

The quality of human resources (HR) of teachers is the main factor that determines the quality of education in a school. Teacher recruitment and selection is a strategic process to ensure that schools get competent educators, qualified both academically and character, and aligned with the institution's vision. This study aims to describe the teacher recruitment and selection process at the Ash Shiddiiqi Integrated Islamic School in Jambi City as a strategy for strengthening human resources. The research method uses a qualitative approach and case study method, data were collected through in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results show that a systematic teacher recruitment and selection process, consisting of planning and analyzing teacher needs, vacancy announcements through social media, administrative screening, academic tests, microteaching, Al-Qur'an tests, competency and moral or attitude interviews, and orientation or internship periods, can improve the quality of human resources (HR) and reduce the turnover rate or teacher turnover. Thus, structured teacher recruitment and selection plays an important role in strengthening human resources at the Ash Shiddiiqi Integrated Islamic School in Jambi City.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a figural creativity assessment instrument based on the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT) for elementary school students and to examine its validity and reliability. The research employed a Research and Development approach using the 4D model, consisting of define, design, develop, and limited disseminate stages. The participants were elementary school students in Yogyakarta. A limited trial involved 16 students, while the field test involved 106 students. Data were collected using the developed figural creativity test, supported by expert validation sheets and student response questionnaires. Content validity was evaluated through expert judgment, internal validity was analyzed using Spearman rank correlation, and inter-rater reliability was examined using the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC). The results indicated that the instrument demonstrated high feasibility in psychological, linguistic, and instructional aspects. Internal validity analysis showed significant positive correlations among stimuli and creativity dimensions. Inter-rater reliability showed good agreement for fluency (ICC = 0.646), flexibility (ICC = 0.754), and elaboration (ICC = 0.779), while originality showed lower agreement (ICC = 0.194). Overall, the developed instrument is valid and reliable for assessing figural creativity in elementary school students, although further refinement of originality scoring procedures is recommended.
