Abstract

Character education is an important aspect of developing students’ moral and spiritual values, particularly in fostering attitudes such as patience and forgiveness within the school environment. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers and the school environment in shaping students’ patience and forgiveness characters at SMAN 19 Surabaya, as well as to identify supporting and inhibiting factors in the character-building process. This research employed a qualitative field research approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving PAI teachers and eleventh-grade students. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, including data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that PAI teachers play a central role in developing students’ patience and forgiveness through exemplary behavior, contextual learning strategies, and the habituation of positive attitudes during the learning process. A supportive school environment and religious culture also strengthen the internalization of these character values. However, several inhibiting factors were identified, such as differences in family backgrounds, the influence of social environments and social media, and limited time allocation for PAI learning. Overall, the development of patience and forgiveness characters can be optimized through collaboration between teachers, schools, and families.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) policy for elementary school teachers within the context of civil service management reform, with a focus on teacher professionalism and educational governance. A systematic literature review was conducted using the PRISMA framework, supported by bibliometric analysis through VOSviewer to identify research trends, keyword networks, and gaps in the literature. The findings indicate that the PPPK policy has contributed to strengthening teacher professionalism through improved employment security, reinforcement of the merit system, and expanded access to competency development. Bibliometric results show a significant increase in related publications following the enactment of Government Regulation Number 49 of 2018, particularly on issues of teacher assignment, performance, and ASN governance. Nevertheless, policy implementation faces persistent challenges, including regional disparities, unequal teacher distribution, and the absence of standardized performance evaluation mechanisms for PPPK teachers at the elementary level. This study highlights the need for comprehensive empirical evaluation, stronger central–local policy alignment, and an integrated career management and performance monitoring framework to enhance the effectiveness of ASN reform in the education sector.

Abstract

This study examines trends in the development of Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL)–based student worksheets and their relationship with collaboration skills in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level during the 2020–2025 period. The main issue is the limited integration of collaboration skills in student worksheets, particularly in lower grades, causing learning to emphasize cognitive aspects. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer software. Data were collected through the Publish or Perish application connected to Google Scholar and Scopus. An initial search identified 300 articles, which were filtered based on inclusion criteria to obtain 100 eligible studies. From these, 25 representative articles were selected for qualitative analysis. The results show that: (1) TaRL effectively improves basic literacy-numeracy skills; (2) student worksheets development focuses mainly on cognitive domains, with limited attention to social and affective aspects; (3) collaboration skills among lower-grade elementary learners remain underexplored; and (4) comprehensive integration of TaRL, student worksheets, and collaboration skills in Grade I Indonesian language learning has not yet been comprehensively addressed. These findings indicate a research gap and opportunities for developing collaboration-oriented TaRL-based student worksheets to support 21st-century skills.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the necessity of Smart Apps Creator-based interactive learning media for teachers and students within the context of Natural and Social Sciences  instruction in elementary schools. Employing a descriptive research design, this study involved 5 classroom teachers and 25 elementary students from the Watukumpul District, Pemalang Regency, as participants. Primary data were gathered using Likert-scale questionnaires to objectively map the needs profile, followed by quantitative descriptive analysis. Empirical evidence reveals that the urgency of teachers' requirements for interactive learning media falls into the very high category, achieving a mean score of 4.28. Key aspects highlighted by educators included concept visualization, media usability, and efficacy in stimulating student engagement. Correspondingly, student responses reflected a very high level of need, with a mean score of 4.58, specifically emphasizing a preference for interactive quizzes, audiovisual content, and an engaging user interface. The alignment of these findings underscores the critical need for accessible and visually rich media for Natural and Social Sciences subjects. Consequently, developing media utilizing Smart Apps Creator is proposed as a relevant solution to enhance the quality of elementary education.

Abstract

The contemporary landscape of Islamic education is characterized by increasing legitimacy pressures, encompassing regulatory, normative, and cognitive dimensions. Islamic educational institutions are required to respond to modernization and market competition while maintaining their Islamic identity. This study aims to examine organizational legitimacy strategies implemented by SMA IT An-Nahl Jambi through the integration of privatization, educational technology (EdTech), and data management systems. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews with key informants, and document analysis, and were analyzed using the interactive data analysis model proposed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings indicate that privatization provides managerial autonomy that enables curricular innovation and service differentiation, thereby strengthening regulatory and normative legitimacy. The adoption of EdTech functions as a cognitive legitimacy strategy by projecting the image of an Islamic school that is modern, adaptive, and responsive to digital-era demands. Furthermore, data systems and information management enhance transparency, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making, contributing to stronger regulatory and normative legitimacy. This study concludes that sustainable organizational legitimacy in Islamic education cannot be achieved through isolated strategies but requires an integrated approach combining privatization, EdTech, and data systems within a coherent educational management ecosystem grounded in Islamic values.
