Abstract

The purpose of designing this tool is to create an alternative tool to install and remove the Valve Spring that is simpler and easier to use and more efficient, create a tool concept to install and remove the Valve Spring that is simpler and more effective which can then be used by the engineering tool manufacturing industry to create new tools, as well as to be able to help technicians as tool users by simplifying work and saving work time.

Abstract

Wind turbine is a tool that converts kinetic energy into electrical energy. For now it is important to improve the efficiency of wind power plants in generating electrical power through the use of wind turbines. Seeing the rapid growth of the human population, the need for energy has also increased drastically. But that population growth is not offset by the availability of energy. Because for now the availability of energy in Indonesia, in particular, still uses energy resources that cannot be renewed. Seeing these shortcomings can take a solution with the use of alternative energy derived from nature, one example is wind energy. The purpose of this study is to find out how much electrical power output from the use of wind turbine types. This research uses the literature study method by examining 15 journals or sources related to research. The data used in this study were taken from documents or sources related to the study.

Abstract

Cassava is a food ingredient that has a high carbohydrate content. Cassava farming products are widely available in Klaten Regency. Cassava is used to make raw materials for processed food which are relatively easy to process. However, it is a pity that the processing of these sweet potatoes is still done manually, especially in the process of cutting the sweet potatoes. So we need an innovation that can facilitate the community in the processing of sweet potatoes. Based on the problems faced by cassava chip manufacturers in Klaten, an alternative solution was developed by modifying and automating a semi-automatic cassava chip making machine with a push spring. With the design of this machine, it is hoped that it can help the production of cassava chips because if the cutting is done with a machine, the time needed is shorter and the shape is more consistent.

Abstract

Today the availability of energy sources in the future is a global problem that continues to be the concern of all countries in the world. Electrical energy is one of the most basic needs in a country, especially in Indonesia. In addition to the problem of the need for electrical energy, lighting in the bridge area is also still a polemic to this day. Based on the studies that have been carried out, it is necessary to maximize the utilization of renewable energy sources, one of which is wind energy as a supplier of electrical energy by applying the concept of a wind power plant (PLTB). Based on the problems that have been described, a creative and innovative idea was initiated to help lighting on bridges in an effort to reduce the number of traffic accidents with the design title Savonius wind turbines for lighting systems with LED strips on bridges.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the design of a stove (burner) fueled by used oil, along with its specifications and to find out the test results using a stove (burner) burning used oil. Departing from the lack of utilization of used oil waste and the absence of good tools to utilize used oil. On the other hand, when used as fuel, used oil does not produce complete combustion. This study uses the French design model. This study concluded that the designed stove (burner) has a large shape compared to the burner in general. The stove (burner) reaches a pressure of 3.5 bar with a temperature of 1127 °C. The flames produced by used oil are orange. Comparison of fuel results in data that LPG is 16 minutes faster than used oil in aluminum smelting. The highest flame length is 1.57 m at a variation of 3 bar air pressure and the lowest is 0.83 m at a pressure of 1 bar. There is an influence of pressure variations on the combustion temperature with a minimum and maximum temperature reaching the highest point with a pressure of 2.5 bar with a temperature of 118 °C and 994 °C while the lowest point is at a minimum and maximum temperature at a pressure of 1 bar with a temperature of 80.4 ° C and 662 °C at 0.5 bar pressure. Fuel consumption time with a distance variation of 2200 km produces a fairly short time of 12 minutes 25 seconds. While the consumption time obtained from the variation of the distance of 1800 km is 17 minutes 11 seconds.

Abstract

Stove design is basically made to achieve high combustion efficiency. The briquette stove performance test is also determined by several factors including time, temperature and combustion air quality. The type of briquette stove depends on the user sector, the type of stove that is currently on the market has an efficiency of between 31-33%. The briquette stove is not yet fully in demand by the public, this is because the briquette stove still has deficiencies, especially in the flame extinguishing operating system. Then a briquette stove was designed for households equipped with a fuel use control system so that what was left could be used for the next need.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain smoke gas through pyrolysis technology by processing biomass materials around us, as well as knowing the effect of increasing the pyrolysator temperature on the capacity of the smoke gas produced and the content in the biomass smoke gas. The combustion process in the combustion tube uses the pyrolysis method or combustion with low oxygen levels or does not use oxygen. This second concept uses additional distillation methods to improve the quality of the liquid smoke produced. The third product concept has a combined design of the two previous concepts. This third concept uses the concept of three phase changes using two condenser tubes and one distillation tube.

Abstract

Waste is one of the main problems in Indonesian industry. The utilization of metal waste is very much needed by the metal smelting industry to melt and reshape to become goods that have more selling value. There are many kinds of waste obtained from the metallurgical manufacturing industry, one of which is material evaporation boats. Refractory materials commonly used for crucibles have not yet produced good refractories and the price is still expensive, so research on Evaporation Boats is needed for more utilization and advantages. This study aims to determine the effect of the extrusion time of evaporation boats, graphite and castable cement on the density, porosity, and impact strength of crucible materials. Variations in extrusion time used in this study were 45 minutes, 90 minutes and 135 minutes. The materials used are 70% evaporation boats by weight, 15% graphite, 15% castable cement, and mixed with 15% water of the total weight. The test results showed the highest density value was 2.05 g/cm3 at an extrusion time of 135 minutes, and the lowest was 2.03 g/cm3 at an extrusion time of 45 minutes. The highest porosity value was 5.5% at an extrusion time of 45 minutes, and the lowest was 2.4% at an extrusion time of 135 minutes. The highest impact strength value was 0.005611579 J at an extrusion time of 135 minutes, and the lowest was 0.005117523 J at an extrusion time of 45 minutes. From the resulting data, it is known that 1.) there is an effect of extrusion time on the density value. The longer the extrusion time, the higher the density value. 2.) There is an effect of extrusion time on the porosity value. The faster the extrusion time, the higher the porosity value. 3.) There is an effect of extrusion time on the impact strength. The longer the extrusion time, the higher the impact.

Abstract

In an effort to overcome the problem of damage to the machine, it is necessary to have a maintenance process, so as to minimize the impact of the damage, repair the damage, and prevent the damage itself. Maintenance is the process of maintaining or caring for an object which aims to ensure the operation of machines, equipment or other assets can be used continuously and efficiently in the long term. According to the results of research conducted by micromain, maintenance can save up to 545% of the return on costs required during maintenance. PT Geodipa Energi, in an effort to prevent greater damage due to damage to the axial fan, carries out maintenance on the axial fan cooling tower. Taking into account various factors, the blades were replaced on several fans and the slope of the blades on the axial fan was corrected. This was done so that the service life of the axial fan increased, the performance was more efficient, and to avoid damage such as the axial fan breaking.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the design and working drawings of the fish smoking tool. To know the design stages of the fish smoking tool. To know the budget required in making fish smoking equipment. A fish smoker is a tool that functions to dry fish with the heat contained in the smoke. Fish smoking is an agricultural product processing technique that aims to preserve fish and increase the selling price of fish in the market. In addition to increasing the selling price, smoking fish also serves to improve the taste of fish. By making this design it can be concluded that this tool can utilize wood waste as a heating medium in fish smokers. The budget required for making this tool is Rp. 4,601,000.00 with the tool specifications listed in the attachment.
