Abstract

Jember Regency is a district that has tremendous potential in agriculture with a land area of 2,431 Km² and geographically located at position 6°27'9°-7°14'33° East and 7° 59'6° - 8°33'56 ° LS. This can be an opportunity for Jember Regency to have the potential for export commodities in the agricultural sector. The rice harvest area in 2021 is around 124,027.77 hectares. Agricultural waste such as straw which is usually burned can cause increased carbon emissions and air pollution which are harmful to health and increased greenhouse gas emissions which can cause an increase in the average temperature on earth. One effort that can be made to deal with straw burning is community intervention. Community intervention activities were carried out at the Farmer Group's house with socialization on the use of rice straw residue as organic fertilizer. This activity aims to add insight and knowledge to the people of Glagahwero Village regarding straw burning and can reduce straw burning which causes various impacts by using turning straw into organic compost. Socialization activities on the use of straw were carried out by displaying power points, distributing leaflets containing the impact, and how to make compost and also showing a video. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in knowledge by providing a question and answer session after giving the material and the number of audience present was 33 people, indicating that the level of attendance has exceeded the target we set.

Abstract

Abstract. Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an acute viral infection caused by the dengue virus characterized by fever for 2-7 days accompanied by bleeding manifestations, decreased platelets (thrombocytopenia), and the presence of hemoconcentration, which is characterized by plasma leakage (increased hematocrit, ascites, pleural effusion, hypoalbuminemia). It may be accompanied by atypical symptoms, including headache, muscle and bone pain, skin rash, and pain behind the eyeball. Community service aims to conduct a survey of larva-free areas and distribute abate powder. Observation of all water reservoirs in people's homes is the method used for this activity. From 17 to 21 May 2022, this activity was conducted for five days. The community empowerment was held in the working area of the Kelay Community Health Center in Sido Bangen and Merasa Villages, Berau Regency, with a target of 227 houses and 5 RTs per region. On the 18th and 20th of May, 2022, a larval survey and the distribution of Abate powder were conducted. The larvae survey revealed ABJ (larvae-free rate) results of 67.65 percent in Feel Village and 81.32 percent in Sido Bangen Village. Seeing the low ABJ after the implementation of countermeasures, it is necessary to implement PSN (Eradication of Mosquito Nest) Plus through community mobilization.

Education is carried out for teenagers to the elderly who are at risk of contracting non-communicable diseases in Tanjung Selor, North Kalimantan. The implementation of the activities ran smoothly and received good responses from the target. After the implementation of the activity, it was seen that there was a positive change in the target related to knowledge by conducting a qualitative pretest-posttest asking participants directly orally and awareness of the importance of health checks for the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases. Health workers are expected to be able to provide education and monitor the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases and the importance of paying attention to public health, especially for the elderly, who are a group at risk of experiencing non-communicable diseases.
