Jurnal Arrabona merupakan wadah publikasi ilmiah yang diterbitkan oleh Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (LP2M), Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Arrabona Bogor. Jurnal Arrabona menerima artikel dari semua dosen, mahasiswa, dan alumni di lingkungan Sekolah Tinggi Teologi, maupun institusi lain yang memiliki bidang kajian yang sama. Artikel yang dikirim haruslah belum pernah atau tidak sedang dalam proses dimuat dalam jurnal lainnya. Artikel yang masuk harus sesuai dengan petunjuk penulisan atau format yang telah ditetapkan. Editor akan menolak artikel yang tidak memenuhi persyaratan tanpa proses lebih lanjut. Artikel yang telah memenuhi persyaratan akan dinilai kelayakannya oleh reviewer melalui proses blind-review. Focus dan Scope Jurnal Arrabona, yaitu: Biblika, Dogmatika, Misiologi, Apologetika, Historika, dan Praktika. Jurnal Arrabona terbit dua kali dalam setahun, yaitu pada bulan Februari dan Agustus, serta menyediakan akses terbuka langsung ke isinya (content).

Abstract

Redemption is God's saving work for mankind. Redemption in the Old Testament leads us to one book that tells of redemption, namely the book of Ruth. This study uses a qualitative research method with a literature study approach, namely, the Bible against various data sources and texts that support and have a correlation with this research. The author examines the theology of redemption in the book of Ruth and its implications for today. Redemption in the book of Ruth shows the story of "the redemption of the family" which in Hebrew is called Go’el which means "one who redeems". The redemption in the Book of Ruth is the immediate family who has the right to deliver his relatives from misfortune. If you look at Boaz's redemption of Ruth, it shows that Boaz' redemption was not an element of compulsion, not an obligation or responsibility that Boaz had to do, but out of love. Likewise, God redeems not out of obligation, but love; not forced, but willing. Christ as Goel of believers today, like Boaz to Ruth. Christ's redemption for us He accepted us into His family and we became His children in the new creation.

Abstract

The background to this research is to provide a foundation for Christian religious education based on a philosophical basis. Understanding the principles and practices of Christian religious education requires a solid foundation in eroding the secular philosophy that greatly influences the church and students. So it does not achieve the goals of Christian religious education. because the philosophy that enters Christian religious education places great emphasis on the autonomy of reason rather than the authority of God as the causality of all things. Philosophy is very systematic and critical in drawing conclusions. It is not uncommon for this rationality to result in the Bible losing its place as the main source in explaining metaphysics, epistemology and axiology, which is replaced by logical thinking which often even opposes the contents of the Bible. So, through discussing the philosophical foundations of Christian education, it will contribute to the implementation of Christian education today. To find detailed data in this discussion, the author uses a qualitative method, a descriptive approach, the findings of this research are, the reviewer examines the meaning of the philosophical foundations of Christian Religious Education, to obtain results that can be applied in contemporary Christian education.

Abstract

The political polarity in Indonesia raises the need for values that can unite society. 1 Corinthians 13 offers a perspective of love that can be grounded in politics. This study aims to explore how the values of love in 1 Corinthians 13 can be integrated into political practice to reduce polarization and improve the quality of democracy. Research Methods Using qualitative analysis of the text of 1 Corinthians 13 and related literature studies, this study evaluates the application of love values in the Indonesian political context. The results show that this study confirms that the values of love described in 1 Corinthians 13 have significant relevance in the Indonesian political context, especially ahead of the 2024 elections. An in-depth analysis of this text suggests that love, which includes patience, generosity, and truth, can be the basis for more ethical and constructive political campaigns. The implementation of these values can reduce political tensions, promote constructive dialogue, and create more inclusive and equitable policies, which in turn can improve the quality of public services and build stronger democracies. Thus, the integration of the value of love in political practice can be the key to overcoming polarization and strengthening national unity in Indonesia.

Abstract

The Colossian congregation lived in a Greco-Roman household culture that was thick with the hegemonic masculinity of the head of the family, so that wives, children and slaves experienced arbitrary treatment. Christianity certainly does not allow this kind of thing to happen in Christian households. This article attempts to prove that Colossians 3:18 – 4:1 was used by Paul to deal with hegemonic masculinity at that time. The method used is epistolary genre hermeneutics. A study of Colossians 3:18 – 4:1 by paying attention to structure, grammar, and cultural context shows that Paul uses an inferior-superior formula in the structure of household rules, gives new values to the roles of each member, and bases all actions on the superiority of Christ. Paul still respected the existence of the existing social hierarchy but modified it in terms of values and practices.

Abstract

The development of the current era is characterized by increasingly advanced technology that makes humans live in an instant. Of course, apart from the positive impact, there must be a negative impact produced through the development of technology, one of which is the distraction of short videos on the concentration of doing assignments for students, especially Christians. The purpose of this study is how or what is the role of Christian religious education to be able to handle Christian students who experience short video distraction which makes it difficult to concentrate on doing academic assignments. Through research with literature analysis with a qualitative approach, it was found that the role of Christian religious education in dealing with the distraction of short videos on concentration on assignments for Christian students is first, to bring students closer to God through worship so that they love God and hear the voice of truth. Second, providing an understanding of the awareness of the dangers of short videos on learning concentration. Third, controlling students to divide their time between doing assignments and watching short videos. Fourth, the awareness that students have does not stop at themselves but results in sharing with other students so that they experience change together. These roles will be able to be carried out if accompanied by examples or examples from Christian religious education teachers and lecturers who have finished with short video addiction, so that the students will be able to change their behavior together. These roles can only be fulfilled if accompanied by the example of a Christian education teacher or lecturer who has overcome addiction to short videos, so that students can find a good role model.
