Abstract

This study investigates the impact of modern technology on social research methods within educational contexts, with a focus on how digital tools influence data collection, analysis, and interpretation processes. Employing a quantitative research design, a survey was conducted with 200 educational researchers and educational employees in Yemen (K-12 education, higher education, educational policy) at Taiz city, Yemen, exploring their use of technologies such as social media analytics, big data tools, and digital surveys. The findings reveal that frequent use of technology significantly enhances research efficiency and data accuracy, providing educational researchers with expanded data collection capabilities and improved analytical precision. However, challenges such as data privacy concerns, ethical dilemmas, and the digital divide emerged as prominent issues that limit the effective integration of technology in educational research. Inferential statistics indicated a positive correlation between technology use frequency and perceived research benefits, with regression analysis showing that both the type and frequency of technology use predict research efficiency. Furthermore, ANOVA results highlighted disparities in technology adoption across educational sectors, indicating that higher education researchers tend to utilize digital tools more frequently than those in K-12 education and policy. These results underscore the need for enhanced ethical frameworks, data privacy measures, and equitable access to technology to ensure inclusive and responsible research practices. This study contributes to the discourse on technology in educational research by offering insights into both the benefits and challenges of digital tool integration and provides practical recommendations for future research in an increasingly digitalized educational landscape.

Abstract

The research examined the impact of Moodle on the academic performance and satisfaction of distance learning undergraduates in Environmental Education. A repeated measures design was employed, involving 113 purposefully selected environmental education students. Data were collected using the Environmental Education Achievement Test (EEAT) and the Moodle Online Learning Satisfaction Inventory (MOLSI), both of which underwent validation and reliability testing. Students completed two pre-tests and pre-satisfaction assessments before the intervention, followed by two post-tests and post-satisfaction assessments afterward. Data analysis was conducted using repeated measures analysis of variance. The results indicate that Moodle significantly enhanced students' academic performance (F (3,336) = 193.189, P = 0.00, effect size = 0.963) and satisfaction (F (3,336) = 154.112, P = 0.00, effect size = 0.957). Additionally, Mauchly’s test of sphericity showed no violations for either achievement (W = 0.741, P = 0.621) or satisfaction (W = 0.604, P = 0.572). The study also found that variables such as age, gender, location, and device type did not significantly moderate the impact of Moodle on students' achievement. These findings suggest that incorporating Moodle into distance learning curricula could benefit environmental education lecturers, researchers, and policymakers in Nigeria by fostering the development of skilled and environmentally literate graduates

Abstract

The development of social skills in early childhood can be achieved through learning activities with project-based learning methods. This study aims to determine the effect of the project method on children's socialization skills in Izzatin Lahat Kindergarten group B1. This type of research is quantitative and uses a pre-experimental research method. The research design used is the group Pretest- Posttest Design which invites a total of 12 children aged 6 years. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling and the data collection technique uses observation, tests, and documentation. Data analysis in testing the research hypothesis uses the t-test. The results of the study showed that there was a difference or positive influence of the project method treatment in learning children's socialization skills on children's socialization skills, this can be seen together the results of two pre-tests had an average score of 38.3 and the results of two post- tests after being given treatment had an average score of 74.5, and the results of the project method on children's socialization skills obtained Fcount < Ftable (2.83 < 2.98). This can be proven by the t-count value = 46.268, which is greater than the t-table value = 2.178 because the t-count value > t-table (46.268 > 2.178), then H0 is rejected, and Ha is accepted. This study provides information that the project method has a positive effect on socializing skills, especially in children in group B1 at Izzatin Lahat Kindergarten

Abstract

This multiple case study aimed to explore language teachers’ experiences with a focus on their strategies and challenges in delivering distance learning and transitioning to limited face-to-face classes. The study was conducted with six English language teachers from the College of Education at Jose Rizal Memorial State University in Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines. The data collection process involved semi-structured interviews to gather in-depth narratives of participants’ experiences. Thematic analysis was used, a method that involves systematically identifying, coding, and categorizing patterns in participants’ narratives to uncover recurring themes and insights. Key findings revealed that teachers leveraged flexible scheduling to increase productivity and develop innovative teaching methods. Despite these efforts, lack of internet access among students emerged as a significant challenge, requiring teachers to provide additional support outside of regular hours, often through text and messaging platforms. Further challenges included the late start of the school year and inadequate classroom space, which required make-up sessions and additional adjustments to meet academic requirements. Based on these findings, participants recommended further professional development opportunities, financial assistance, material support, and a reassessment of teaching modalities to improve learning effectiveness in similar challenging contexts.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze in depth the digital literacy of students, which refers to their ability to effectively find, evaluate, create and communicate information using digital technology in the education and teaching process in higher education. In the digital age, digital literacy has become an essential and indispensable skill for personal, academic, and professional success. Cultivating digital literacy in university students is not only an important component of promoting the construction of higher education programs but also a crucial issue in facilitating the digital transformation of higher education. The study surveyed  undergraduate students at Guizhou Normal University in Guiyang, China, using a structured questionnaire that covered six dimensions of digital literacy: information acquisition, communication and collaboration, digital content creation, security, privacy, and problem-solving. The results reveal that university students generally exhibit high levels of digital literacy, with no significant differences between genders. However, students from urban areas demonstrate significantly higher digital literacy levels compared to those from rural areas, particularly in security and privacy domains. The findings underscore the need for targeted interventions to enhance digital literacy in areas such as digital content creation and problem-solving. This study provides practical recommendations for higher education institutions to address these gaps and promote comprehensive digital literacy development among students especially in the fields of education and teaching
