Abstract

The increasingly complex and dynamic context of globalization requires Christian Education to adapt to existing challenges. Plurality and multiculturalism, global ethical challenges, technology and social change, conflict and tolerance and the influence of popular culture and consumerism, all these issues underscore the importance of integrating Christian religious values into the development of mission character relevant to the context of globalization. This research aims to explore the role of Christian Education in building mission character in the context of globalization. The research method used is a literature study. The results showed that Christian Education has a significant role in shaping the character of the mission that is responsive to the context of globalization, namely: instilling a deep theological understanding; strengthen the foundation of beliefs and values underlying the mission; help individuals to understand and appreciate cultural diversity in a global context; Plays a role in shaping the character of the mission that is able to adapt to the changing global environment. The mission characters that need to be possessed are love and mercy, example, service and social care, cooperation and harmony, humility, justice and truth. Christian religious education can also facilitate a deep understanding of cultural and religious diversity, thus enabling each individual to engage in mission in an inclusive and respectful manner.Keywords: Christian religious education; mission character; The context of globalizationAbstrakKonteks globalisasi yang semakin kompleks dan dinamis menuntut Pendidikan Agama Kristen untuk beradaptasi dengan tantangan yang ada. Pluralitas dan multikulturalisme, tantangan etika global, teknologi dan perubahan sosial, konflik dan toleransi dan pengaruh budaya populer dan konsumerism, semua masalah ini menggaris bawahi pentingnya mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai agama Kristen ke dalam pengembangan karakter misi yang relevan dengan konteks globalisasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi peran Pendidikan Agama Kristen dalam membangun karakter misi dalam konteks globalisasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pendidikan Agama Kristen memiliki peran yang signifikan dalam membentuk karakter misi yang tanggap terhadap konteks globalisasi, yaitu: menanamkan pemahaman teologis yang mendalam; memperkuat dasar keyakinan dan nilai-nilai yang mendasari misi; membantu individu untuk memahami dan menghargai keragaman budaya dalam konteks global; berperan untuk membentuk karakter misi yang mampu beradaptasi dengan lingkungan global yang terus berubah. Adapun karakter misi yang perlu dimiliki adalah kasih dan belas kasihan, keteladanan, pelayanan dan kepedulian sosial, kerjasama dan kerukunan, kerendahan hati, keadilan dan kebenaran. Pendidikan Agama Kristen juga dapat memfasilitasi pemahaman yang mendalam tentang keragaman budaya dan agama, sehingga memungkinkan setiap individu untuk terlibat dalam misi secara inklusif dan saling menghormati.Kata Kunci: pendidikan agama Kristen; karakter misi; konteks globalisasi
