Abstract

Feminism is a theoretical approach and critical school of thought that aims to examine the inequality of gender-based power relations in various dimensions of social life. Ecofeminism emerged as a development of feminist thought that links the oppression of women with the exploitation of nature. This perspective holds that the logic of domination that positions nature as an object to be controlled and exploited is in line with the patriarchal perspective that demeans women. When feminism and ecofeminism are applied in the context of indigenous communities in Indonesia, women's experiences need to be understood contextually and in layers. In the Baduy Indigenous Community, the relationship between men and women in Baduy society is complementary, without patterns of domination or placing women in a subordinate position. This study aims to understand the role of Baduy women as ecological actors who play a central role in sustainability. By combining the results of previous research and an ecofeminist perspective, this paper attempts to view the Baduy as a concrete example of indigenous ecofeminism. This research is a qualitative ethnographic study with a descriptive and analytic approach. The main focus is to explore how the role of Baduy women in ecological activities is read from an ecofeminist perspective. The results show that Baduy women are the backbone of their indigenous community's food and economic security, carrying out vital roles that are closely integrated with spiritual beliefs and environmental sustainability. Baduy women, through their adherence to Pikukuh customary law and daily interactions that respect nature.

Abstract

This study evaluates the performance of Banjarmasin City's Regional Original Revenue (PAD) from taxes and levies, identifies optimization efforts, and formulates strategies to enhance tax and levy revenues for city development. A mixed-methods approach was used, combining quantitative analysis of tax and levy realization data from 2018–2022 with qualitative analysis through interviews with key informants from the BPKPAD. Results show that regional tax performance is generally effective, particularly for hotel tax, restaurant tax, street lighting, and BPHTB. However, some taxes, like the swallow's nest tax and billboard tax, show low effectiveness in certain years. Regional levies contribute minimally to PAD, with several levies no longer generating revenue. The fiscal independence ratio indicates that Banjarmasin City is still heavily dependent on central transfer funds. Optimization efforts include intensifying tax collection, digitizing payment services, and enhancing taxpayer socialization. SWOT analysis identified strategies: aggressive (SO), diversification (ST), turn-around (WO), and defensive (WT). The study recommends improving regional tax governance, increasing human resource capacity, updating tax-levy databases, and leveraging digital technology to enhance compliance and supervision.

Abstract

Slum areas remain a critical challenge in urban development, particularly in cities experiencing rapid population growth without adequate housing provision. This study investigates the characteristics and dominant factors contributing to slum formation in Tanjung Pinggir Village, Siantar Martoba District, Pematang Siantar City. The research employed a quantitative descriptive analytical approach with 78 respondents selected through purposive sampling from 347 households. Data were collected through structured questionnaires, field observations, and in-depth interviews and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) with Varimax rotation. The findings reveal that slums in Tanjung Pinggir Village are characterized by extremely high building density, poor building quality, limited access to basic infrastructure, and inadequate environmental sanitation. Factor analysis identified four dominant contributing factors: basic infrastructure (27.824%), physical condition of buildings (18.671%), environmental sanitation (13.162%), and socioeconomic factors (9.181%). The basic infrastructure factor emerged as the most critical element requiring priority intervention. Proximity to the Final Disposal Site significantly impacts settlement quality through environmental pollution and aesthetic degradation. This study recommends comprehensive and integrated slum management programs focusing on infrastructure improvement—particularly clean water supply, drainage systems, and waste management—alongside community empowerment initiatives to enhance economic capacity and environmental awareness.

Abstract

The management of community forests in the Babadan area is still relatively low, because judging from the survey, many are managed individually. The importance of cooperation between other parties with new knowledge will be able to foster good forest management. The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the relationship between community perception and community forests. The research was carried out on community land in Ngajum District, Malang Regency, East Java as the location for determining community forests in July 2024. Location determination is based on observations, studies and literature studies. This study uses a likert scale with categories and rating scales to determine the social and economic perception of the community. Vegetation analysis was carried out to calculate vegetation types as a step to obtain data on the distribution of community forest composition with the knowledge of important value and diversity indexes, then economic valuation analysis was carried out to analyze community forest income. Then the integration of the model in all elements with the community's economy is carried out, to find out how the income will be for the next 20 years. The results of the study showed that the perception of the community in Babadan Hamlet towards the community forest was high (62-70%). One of the sample lands had 1,585 trees with an average importance index of 300 and the highest diversity index of 1,960, dominated by mahogany,

Abstract

Military aviation safety is a critical element in maintaining operational readiness and protecting national strategic assets. One of the most significant human factors affecting aviation safety is fatigue. In response, the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) has adopted the Fatigue Risk Management System (FRMS) as an integral part of its Safety Management System (SMS). This research aims to analyze the implementation of the FRMS policy for aviation safety at Air Force Regional Command I (Kodau I), focusing on the aspects of resources, procedures, and compliance. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using a case study method. Data were collected through field observations, in-depth interviews with key informants, and analysis of policy documents and safety reports. Data triangulation was applied to ensure the validity and reliability of the findings. The results indicate that in terms of resources, Kodau I has adequate physical facilities to support FRMS implementation; however, limitations remain in fatigue monitoring technology and the coverage of FRMS training programs. Regarding procedures, FRMS policies and standard operating procedures have been systematically developed and integrated into the SMS framework, yet data recording and processing systems remain largely manual, limiting long-term analytical capability. In terms of compliance, most personnel comply with flight duty time regulations, but challenges persist in fatigue reporting and training participation due to cultural factors

Abstract

The increasing prison population and chronic overcrowding in detention centers have prompted law enforcement to seek alternative approaches beyond conventional punitive measures. Restorative justice offers a solution by focusing on reconciliation, victim-offender mediation, and community-based rehabilitation rather than incarceration. This study examines the implementation of restorative justice at the Jembrana Police Resort and its impact on the number of inmates in the Class IIB State Detention Center. Using a combined normative and empirical legal research method, this study analyzes primary regulations such as the Indonesian National Police Regulation Number 8 of 2021, supported by secondary legal literature. Empirical data were collected through interviews with investigators and detention officials, as well as analysis of case resolution and inmate population records from 2022 to 2024. The results indicate that restorative justice has significantly reduced the number of inmates entering the detention center, with 274 criminal cases resolved through restorative mechanisms during the observed period. This approach not only alleviates overcrowding but also enhances the quality of rehabilitation and reduces recidivism. In conclusion, restorative justice has proven effective as an alternative resolution model in the Jembrana region, supporting decarceration efforts and promoting a more humane justice system. To optimize its impact, recommendations include increasing investigator training, improving inter-institutional coordination, and expanding public awareness of restorative justice mechanisms.

Abstract

Indonesia, as an archipelago, faces logistical challenges in distributing aviation fuel for TNI AU operations, particularly in remote areas with limited infrastructure. The reliance on conventional methods (such as drums) leads to inefficiencies in time and capacity. The objectives of this study are to analyze the potential application of Bulk Aviation Transport Tank (BATT) innovation in supporting TNI AU aircraft fuel distribution, identify supporting and hindering factors, and provide effective recommendations for its implementation. This research uses a descriptive-analytical qualitative method with data collection through document studies, in-depth interviews with key informants from TNI AU and BRIN, and observation. Data were analyzed interactively using triangulation techniques for validation. The results show that BATT has the potential to significantly improve distribution efficiency: reducing distribution time from 3–5 days to less than 24 hours, increasing fuel utilization to 98%–100%, and optimizing airlift capacity. Key supporting factors include operational efficiency and flexibility, while obstacles include high initial investment needs, limited human resources and infrastructure readiness, and the lack of specific SOPs. Recommendations focus on strengthening policies, human resource development, infrastructure modernization, and partnerships with the domestic defense industry.
