Abstract

Introduction:Shoulder impingement is a symptom of pain arising from trauma, namely narrowing between the acromion and the humeral head resulting in inflammation or inflammation of the rotator cuff tendon (generally affecting the supraspinatus tendon). The typical symptom of this problem is a painful arc at 60 – 120 degrees of movement in the shoulder joint.Case Presentation:A 76 year old woman who works as a housewife complains of pain in her right shoulder. The patient has been complaining of pain since 2 years ago, the pain reappeared in November 2022 after the patient did sports activities. Examinations carried out include examination of vital signs, inspection, palpation, specific examination, examination of basic movements, measurement of pain, examination of muscle strength, measurement of joint range of motion, and measurement of functional activity.Management and Outcomes:The patient undergoes therapy at Esa Unggul Clinic Jakarta, 2 times a week. Interventions provided by physiotherapy include SWD, manual therapy, and exercise therapyConclusion:The physiotherapy program provided is in the form of SWD, manual therapy, and exercise therapy for Mrs. A was diagnosed with shoulder impingement syndrome and was treated 4 times and showed quite good results, namely decreased pain, increased range of motion, increased muscle strength, and increased functional ability.

Abstract

Introduction: Pregnancy-related Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGPP) is the most common condition during pregnancy that affects the quality of life, and a previous study has found that between 17% to 64.7% of pregnant women reported PPGP worldwide. The physiotherapy management of PPGP has varieties among countries, especially in the low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) group setting which are dependent on their country’s situations. The topics that need to discover more in the LMICs were the vulnerable maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality risk factors. This could be the inadequate health service quality, lack of information, limited coverage, and low quality of antenatal care. Case Presentation: A literature review from five databases (PubMed, Pedro, Science Direct, Cochrane, and Web of Science). A mix of keywords has been used in the search or Medical Subject Heading (MESH) terms related to "pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain" or “Pelvic Girdle Pain AND Pregnancy” and combine with OR treatment and "low and middle-income countries". The inclusion criteria of the articles were that pregnant women aged 18 years old suffered PPGP and all studies assessed the published in English within 2000-2020. The methodological quality of the included studies in terms of internal validity was assessed using CASP (Critical Appraisal Skills Program). Management and Outcome: lumbopelvic belts could improve functional status, decreased the level and intensity of pain, and raise the quality of life among pregnant women were the benefit of physiotherapy management for solving the PPGP problems. Discussion: Four articles have been selected from five databases with 80% of quality assessment for each research. The studies mentioned 3 to 10 weeks exercise program, a specific exercise program (pelvic rocking technique, back care, routine prenatal care, home-based pelvic stabilizing exercise), and lumbopelvic belts could improve functional status, decreased the level and intensity of pain, and raise the quality of life among pregnant women were the benefit of physiotherapy management for solving the PPGP problems. Conclusion: Physiotherapy management in the LMICs group setting use the three to ten weeks of exercise program. The specific technique of exercise and lumbopelvic belts were used to treat the PPGP problems among pregnant women.

Abstract

Introduce: Data from the 2019 Global Burden of Diseases study shows that lower respiratory tract infections including pneumonia and bronchiolitis affect 489 million people worldwide. Children <5 years and adults >70 years are the populations most affected by pneumonia, according to the 2019 GBD study. Purpose: Knowing the physiotherapy management of pneumonia cases in the ICU Methods: using the case report method taken at PKU Yogyakarta Hospital Conclusion: Providing intervention in the form of passive rib torsion in patients in ICU care with the use of ventilators due to pneumonia is considered capable of increasing chest expansion.

Abstract

The growth and development of children aged 0-6 months is an important stage to achieve optimal quality of life. Parents have an important role in stimulating child growth and development early on in child growth and development. Problems that occur in children of this age, one of which is gross motor development due to parents' lack of understanding of child development. Education in the form of health literacy discusses growth and development and how to stimulate according to age so that parents can apply what has been taught. The aim is to determine changes in the level of understanding of parents when given growth and development education about gross motor development of children aged 0-6 months. This study used a quantitative research design with a type of quay experimental research, a one- group pre-test-post-test approach. The number of samples was 44 respondents with the purposive sampling method. The variables of this study are independent, namely parents' understanding of child growth and development measured by questionnaires, and dependent variables, namely gross motor development of children aged 0-6 months measured by ASQ (Ages and stages questionnaire). Data analysis techniques used were univariate test, normality test, and effect test. The effect test using Wilcoxon showed the sig result (2-tailed) was 0.000 <0.05, meaning there is a significant effect. It can be concluded that there is an effect of growth and development education on parents' level of understanding about the gross motor development of children aged 0-6 months.
