Preschool age children will feel that being sick and being cared for is a form of punishment for children, because moral development is oriented towards punishment and obedience. Children who are cared for are considered as an event that can create stress in children. Stressors received by children during treatment can be in the form of an unfamiliar hospital environment, physical conditions such as pain and illness experienced, treatment procedures, and medical examinations. This can cause sleep disturbances, decreased appetite, and developmental disorders, so it can slow down the healing process. The results of the study at Raden Mattaher Hospital Jambi, found that 46.7 child respondents behaved poorly during the action and as many as 53.3% of the children showed good behavior during the action, with 36% of the respondents not accompanied by their parents and 63.3% accompanied by their parents during the action. Poor behavior shows the child being more aggressive, kicking, screaming. Parents as the closest people to children, have an important role in the hospitalization of children. The role of parents that can be done while the child is hospitalized is for parents to establish communication and collaboration with the health profession. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between parental participation and the impact of hospitalization on preschool-aged children who were treated at the hospital. The design of this study was a correlation study with a cross sectional approach which was conducted on 72 respondents. The research instrument used a questionnaire on the impact of hospitalization and parental participation which had been tested for validity and reliability. Abstract

Adolescent sleep problems should be considered as a longstanding health problem in society. One group that is at high risk of experiencing sleep disorders is adolescents. This is because in adolescents there are changes in sleep patterns including insufficient sleep duration, delayed sleep time, and differences in sleep patterns on weekdays and weekends, so the quality of adolescent sleep tends to decrease. The results of sleep deprivation can, among other things, affect the physical, mental, emotional and social development of adolescents, including brain maturity and decision-making skills. The problem of sleep disorders in adolescents is difficult to enforce, this is because sleep disorders are often not conveyed by adolescents. The purpose of this study was to identify the prevalence of sleep problems and the factors that influence the quality of adolescents (18-21 years) in Tegal City. Recommendations for adolescents need education about disturbances in adolescent sleep quality

Abstract

Old age is a natural process that has become human nature. Elderly is part of the process of growth and development. Humans do not suddenly grow old, but develop from infants, children, adults and eventually become old. This is very normal, and everyone can experience it. Various changes will occur when a person grows old, including changes in sleep patterns. Sleep quality is a state of sleep that a person does to increase freshness and fitness when awake. Most of the elderly, the quality of sleep changes, namely when sleep begins to shorten. These conditions can be overcome by pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. One of the non-pharmacological therapies is acupressure therapy which is a complementary therapy that can cure several diseases including improving sleep quality. The aim of the study was to determine the quality of acupressure in improving sleep quality in the elderly. The method in this study is a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test none equivalent control group. The number of respondents was 54 respondents who were divided into a treatment group that was given acupressure therapy and a control group. Data collection techniques using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire. The results of the different test with the Mann Whiteny Test obtained a p-value of 0.000 (0.05). So it can be said that pressure has a positive effect on improving sleep quality in the elderly. Acupressure can have a relaxing effect on the elderly so that it can improve the quality of sleep in the elderly. The results of this study can be used as a reference for choosing acupressure therapy to improve sleep quality in the elderly.
