Abstract

Singapore cherry (Muntingia calabura L.) is a plant that has shady trees, is often used as a shade and is easy to grow in various places. All parts of the cherry plant, including roots, bark, fruit, and leaves, contain secondary metabolites that can be used as traditional medicine. The purpose of this study was to determine the phytochemical compounds contained in cherry leaf extract and to determine the level of acute toxicity (LC50) using the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method. Identification of phytochemical compounds was carried out by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and acute toxicity test (LC50) was carried out using the BSLT method using the shrimp larvae test insect Artemia salina Leach. The acute toxicity test (LC50) consisted of 6 concentration treatments, namely 500 ppm, 250 ppm, 150 ppm, 100 ppm, 50 ppm, along with negative controls, each of which was repeated three times. The LC50 value is obtained from probit analysis in Microsoft Office Excel. There are 3 groups of bioactive compounds with the highest peak area in singapore cherry leaf extract, namely groups of flavonoids, phenols, and alkaloid. The result of acute toxicity test (LC50) of singapore cherry leaves extract was 84,029 ppm.

Abstract

Land conversion in urban areas causes various kinds of problems. One of them is agriculture. This thing requires innovation and contribution of the millennial generation to develop urban agriculture (Urban Farming), especially hydroponics. There is one of the businesses engaged in the hydroponic sector in Denpasar Bali namely Gumineponik. This business engaged in agriculture especially hydroponics and culinary. It is located in East Denpasar, Denpasar City, Bali Province. The background of this business was established because of the large number of land conversions that occurred in Denpasar City, especially in East Denpasar District that resulted in reduced agricultural land. This business is a solution in the midst of the problem of land conversion by utilizing narrow land to be more productive with hydroponic cultivation. Gumineponik is a business that has an upstream to downstream concept starting from the vegetables production process, hydroponic equipment, and post-harvest processing. It introduces the millennial generation about modern agriculture that does not require large land so that it can be efficient and effective in terms of productivity of agricultural products. Utilizing social media through online marketing such as Instagram, Facebook, and Whatsapp are used to make this business reaches wider market effectively. This research uses descriptive qualitative and quantitative method. Qualitative descriptive analysis is used to describe the system, concept and output of Gumineponik based on technical, economic and social aspects. Quantitative analysis is used to measure financial feasibility on the economic aspect through approaches (profit and loss statements, balance sheets, financial projections for 3 years and Net B/C Ratio). The results of the financial analysis of Gumineponik are a healthy business with an average profit value of Rp. 6,811,667 in a month during 2020, with an average profit margin of 28% and a Net B/C Ratio of 1.33. These results indicate that Gumineponik has healthy finances and relatively growing.

Abstract

Subak is defined as a customary law community that has socio-agrarian-religious characteristics. One of the subaks in the Bali area is the subak in Kediri District, Tabanan Regency. This Subak does not yet have the latest information data on sustainable food agriculture. Subak in Kediri District, Tabanan Regency is a subak of LP2B (Sustainable Food Agricultural Land). Subak rice fields, data, and information on subak resources have not been mapped spatially. The subak information system was built using geospatial data obtained through participatory mapping in the field and field surveys. Data from the field was digitized using google satellite imagery through the QGIS application so that the area of each subak was obtained as well as information in the form of a subak database. The results of this analysis will become a database by uploading the data to the internet with the help of the Google Maps Api program. The attributes that will be included in the system include: (1) land resources, consisting of subak identity and land suitability; (2) human resources, consisting of the name of the farmer group, the total number of farmers, the number of sharecroppers, the number of owner farmers, land ownership and names of field extension officers, farmer education; and (3) agricultural resources, consisting of data on plant types, cropping patterns, planting times, types of fertilizers, fertilizer doses, rice varieties, origin of rice seeds, pests and marketing.

Abstract

Red cabbage is a plant that is rich in antioxidant, one of its secondary metabolites, antosianin that gave the purple color on red cabbage has multiple health effects for human such as preventing cancer, tumor, and many more. The use of this secondary metabolites in plants nowadays is very popular, not only for its pharmacological effects, but also as an antibacterial, coloring agent, flavoring agent, natural pesticide, etc. Therefore, this study is needed to look for another potentially benefical compound in the plant, such as red cabbage, a plant that is more than just a salad. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the types of extraction solvents on phytochemical compound of red cabbage plant leaves. The dried off plant macerated with two kinds of solvents, aquades, and ethanol. After about +3 days, both of the extract got evaporated with rotary evaporator. The yields of evaporating will be tested with GCMS analysis. The result showed that kind of extraction solvents do affect the yield from evaporating, and GC-MS analysis. Aquades showed to have a better capability in both of extraction, or on the analysis with GC-MS.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving additional doses of compost fertilizer with carbonated beverage sludge and sludge on the chemical properties and growth yield of mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.). This research was carried out from March 2021 to May 2021 and used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 8 treatments, including control which was repeated three times with 24 experimental pots. The treatment tried was P0 = no fertilizer (control). P1 = 5 tons of compost/ha-1 (11.25 grams of compost/pot-1), P2 = 10 tons of compost/ha-1 (22.5 grams of compost/pot-1), P3 = 15 tons of compost/ha- 1 (34 gr compost/pot-1), P4 = 20 tons compost/ha-1 (45 gr compost/pot-1), P5 = 5 tons sludge/ha-1 (11.25 sludge/pot-1), P6 = 10 tons of sludge/ha-1 (22.5 gr sludge/pot-1), P7 = 15 tons of sludge/ha-1 (34 gr sludge/pot-1). The parameters observed in this study were divided into two observations, observing soil chemical properties, including pH, N-total, P-available, K-available, Electrical Conductivity (EC), C-organic, Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC), and Base Saturation. Plant parameters are consisting of plant height, number of leaves, fresh weight, plant dry weight. The results of statistical analysis showed the fertilizer dose had a very significant effect (P>0.01) on K-available, P-available, BS and had a significant effect (P <0.05) on pH and EC, but had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on N- total, C-organic, CEC, plant height, number of leaves, fresh weight, and plant dry weight. P7 treatment showed that the best improvement in plant parameters such as plant height which increased by 20%, and fresh weight of 45% from the control treatment. The chemical properties of available P-available increased by 25%, available K-available increased by 22%, and BS increased by 10% from the control.
