Abstract

Anthracnose disease in chili plants can cause yield loss. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of Paenibacillus polymyxa Jav78 to inhibit the growth of Colletotrichum spp. and identify the antifungal compound produced by P. polymyxa Jav78. Antagonistic test of P. polymyxa Jav78 against Colletotrichum fungus was carried out in vitro. Identification of antifungal compounds using Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GCMS). The results showed that P. polymyxa Jav78 was able to inhibit the growth of the fungus Colletotrichum spp. with the percentage of inhibition ranging from 77.33% to 85.07%. The P. polymyxa Jav78 filtrate contains antifungal compounds 76.01% hexadecanoic acid, methyl ester and 16.48% imidazole-3-oxide. The results of this study provide information that P. polymyxa Jav78 can be used as a biofungicide to control anthracnose disease in chili plants.

Abstract

Increasing the use of agricultural land will have an impact on decreasing soil quality, so it is necessary to carry out appropriate soil management to maintain sustainability and optimize productivity on agricultural land which is getting narrower and narrower. Inappropriate soil management systems cause a decrease in land productivity so that crop production is not optimal. This research was conducted in the rice fields of Klungkung and Dawan District from October 2022 until January 2023. This research was conducted using survey methods, soil analysis in the laboratory, and determination of soil quality. Soil samples were taken by purposive sampling technique on each homogeneous land unit. Soil quality indicators measured as minimum data sets (MDS): bulk density, texture, porosity, field capacity water content, pH, C-Organic, CEC, base saturation, nutrients (N, P and K), and C -biomassa. The results of soil quality determination at each homogenous land units are mapped with QGIS 3.16 software and then the land management direction is determined for each homogenous land units. The results showed that the soil quality at the research location was classified as good at homogenous land units I and III and very good at homogenous land units II. The limiting factors in the study area include: texture, N, field capacity water content and C-biomass. It is recommended to cultivate the soil using a tractor and fertilize it with manure, urea in rice fields of the Coastal Area of the Unda Watershed, Klungkung and Dawan District.

Abstract

The Ngurah Rai Sports Center (GOR) has many facilities as well as a park for sports and recreations. Not only used for sports, GOR Ngurah Rai is also used for art events and other events. In supporting these activities, it is necessary to pay attention for the maintenance issues as a follow-up activity. Insufficient manpower in maintaining GOR can affect the level of efficiency and effectiveness of work capacity, so this study aims to provide recommendations regarding good maintenance standards so that users are safer and more comfortable in their activities at the Ngurah Rai GOR. This study used observation, interviews, questionnaires and literature studies, focusing on visitor perceptions and maintenance of the park at GOR Ngurah Rai. The type of research is descriptive quantitative with weighting analysis using a Likert scale. This research is based on the perceptions of respondents and the results obtained from the aspects of cleanliness, safety, maintenance, and beauty with an average value of 61.45% so are categorized as good. While the results of interviews with the Office of Education, Youth and Sports as the manager of GOR Ngurah Rai, it is known that the maintenance and management of GOR Ngurah Rai do not have good maintenance standards. Therefore, it is necessary to have recommendations for maintenance standards of GOR Ngurah Rai in order to create good maintenance. Suggestions that can be given are the preparation of standard operating procedures related to the implementation of park maintenance, adding field supervisors, adding and repairing work tools to support the maintenance of GOR Ngurah Rai for the better results.

Abstract

Nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) cause a lot of losses to farmers cultivating Solanaceae family plants because Solanaceae family plants are host plants that are highly favored by nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.). most often grown by farmers to meet their daily needs. The aim of the study was to determine the penetration rate and fecundity level of nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) in several plants belonging to the Solanaceae family, and to find out which host plant species are less preferred from the tested plants so that they can be used as an alternative for nematode control (Meloidogyne spp.). This study used a completely randomized design (RAL), with 4 types of treatment, each treatment was given 6 repetitions with 2 research objects so that 4 x 6 x 2 = 48 units/plant pot was obtained. The results showed that the penetration and fecundity levels of (Meloidogyne spp.) were highest in tomato plants, then in eggplant, then large chili plants and the lowest in cayenne pepper plants. So that these results can be used as an alternative crop rotation in the field and can be used to control nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.). technical culture.

Abstract

The Ubud Tourism Area is a tourism area which is located on a fairly high plateau but floods often occur, especially when rainfall is high. The parameters causing potential flooding in the Ubud Tourism Area are river distance, altitude, slope, rainfall, land use and soil type. The purpose of this study is to provide information on the distribution of potential flooding in the Ubud Tourism Area in the form of mapping related to the awareness of the public and tourists against flood disasters. This research was conducted in Ubud District from October 2022 to January 2023. The research method used is the scoring and weighting method as well as the overlay of the parameters that cause potential flooding. The OSM Tracker application is used for field checking by checking potential flood points spread out in the study area. The results of the study show that there are five classes of potential flooding, namely very low, low, medium, high and very high. The potential for flooding in the Ubud Tourism Area is dominated by the high class area of 1,844.21 ha (43.02%) of the total area of Ubud District. Then very low class area of 15.91 ha (0.37%), low area of 408.16 ha (9.52%), medium area of 1587.25 ha (37.02%) and very high 432.4 ha (10 .08%) of the area of the Ubud Tourism Area.

Abstract

Alun-Alun Ida Dewa Agung Jambe is the only open public space in Klungkung Regency. This square has undergone many changes in the function of space from time to time. The government plans to organize this open public space as a community recreation facility to improve the quality of public recreation spaces. The research aims to identify the facilities, identify the characteristics of users, and provide adjustments between areas and facilities with user. It used the survey method, and the data were collected through observations, questionnaires and literature study. Then the collected data were analyzed descriptive qualitatively. The results show that the location of Alun-Alun Ida Dewa Agung Jambe is very strategic, which is located in the center of Semarapura city with various tourist objects. The results also show that Alun-Alun Ida Dewa Agung Jambe provides various areas and facilities that can be utilized free of charge. Users have characteristics that tend to visit with other people either with friends or family. The purpose of using Alun-Alun Ida Dewa Agung Jambe is recreation, sports and social interaction. The number of visits is one to two hours per week and with duration is one to two hours. Users who come to the square tend to use private vehicles like motorbike. In general, the areas and facilities provided by the Klungkung government are in accordance with the activities carried out the users.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the suitability of actual and potential land for food crops, limiting factors and efforts to improve them as well as appropriate land use directions in Sidemen sub-district, Karangasem. The method used in this research is a survey method and matching the data the quality/characteristics of the land with the requirements for plant growth. The food crops evaluated included rice plants, corn and soybeans. The results of the land suitability evaluation show that the actual land suitability class for food crops (rice, corn, soybeans) are classified as S3 (marginally suitable) to N (not suitable) with limiting factors such as rainfall, P- available, slope, erosion hazard and texture. For land suitability classes, potential food crops (rice, corn, soybeans) are classified as S1 (very suitable) to N (not suitable) with the limiting factors being slope and texture. Efforts to improve that can be done in overcoming the limiting factors include irrigation, applying fertilizers, and making terraces.

Abstract

The city of Surabaya is the second largest metropolitan city in Indonesia. The problem in Surabaya city is the second largest metropolitan city in Indonesia. The problem in the city of Surabaya is the conversion of built-up land which is not in harmony with the increasingly limited availability of land. It is necessary to study the distribution of land cover over a certain period of time. This study aims to provide information on the spatial distribution of land cover in the 2022 Surabaya City spatial planning, the results of the accuracy test of the application of supervised classification on the 2022 Surabaya City land cover map, and to determine the availability of land cover based on the spatial plan in Surabaya City in 2022. 2014-2034. The research method used is a qualitative method, remote sensing data processing is carried out by supervised classification, and the accuracy test is carried out using Kappa accuracy (KA) through a confusion matrix. The results of the study show that the dominant land cover in the city of Surabaya in 2022 is built-up land in residential areas covering an area of 11,481.9 Ha. The accuracy test has a kappa index accuracy of 0.84. The availability of built-up land cover based on the Surabaya City Spatial Plan for 2014-2034 covers an area of 7,589.2 Ha or 28.3%.

Abstract

The demand for bell pepper is increasing along with the growth of the economy and population. This study aims to investigate the effect of the appropriate quantity of fruit in the packaging and determine the suitable packaging type for preserving the physicochemical properties and shelf life of bell pepper. The research is being conducted from February to March 2023 at the Eco-physiology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University The experimental design used is a completely randomized design (CRD) with a factorial pattern consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the packaging treatment (K), which includes three treatments: K0 = Control (without packaging), K1 = Polypropylene (PP) packaging, and K2 = Polyethylene (PE) packaging. The second factor is the quantity of fruit (T), consisting of two treatments: T1 = 2 fruits in one package and T2 = 3 fruits in one package. Each treatment is replicated 4 times, resulting in a total of 24 experimental units. The research findings indicate an interaction between the packaging type and the quantity of fruit for the variable of shelf life. The quantity of fruit has a highly significant effect on weight loss on the 4th and 8th day and a significant effect on the shelf life , whereas the packaging type has a highly significant effect on the shelf life, the total soluble solids (TSS) content on the 8th day, and a significant effect on weight loss on the 4th and 8th day. Furthermore, the highest increase in vitamin C is observed in K0T1, which records a 198.47% increase.

Abstract

Bungkul Park is one of city parks in Surabaya located on Jalan Raya Darmo, Wonokromo District, Surabaya. As a park that has many visitors and become the center of community activities in Surabaya, good maintenance is very important to maintain the comfort of visitors and the beauty of the park. This research aims to evaluate the maintenance of Bungkul Park from December 2019 to June 2023. The research method used is a descriptive method. Data in this research was collected by direct observation in Bungkul Park, interviewing park maintenance officers, surveying visitors through a questionnaire containing 20 questions about cleanliness, beauty, comfort, order, and security to 30 visitors to Bungkul Park, and studies through literature. Based on the results of the research conducted, the condition of the facilities at Bungkul Park is quite good, and the implementation of maintenance activities at Bungkul Park is carried out based on conditions and not on a schedule. The tools and materials used for park maintenance are quite complete and adequate. Based on the results of a survey on visitors' perceptions of Bungkul Park regarding cleanliness, beauty, order, and security, it is quite good. The author's suggestion is based on research, namely that it is necessary to have standard operating procedures for carrying out garden maintenance in writing and submitting routine maintenance activities, as well as installing plant identity boards so that visitors receive education about the types of plants in Bungkul Park.
