Abstract

One of primary issues of organization theory debate arises from questions about the basic unit analysis from which the reality of organization is best derived or understood. The functionalist orientation takes as its points from the larger collective level of  reality, that is, the encompassing system is the basic unit of analysis. The interpretivists see individual interaction as the basic unit from which an understanding of the larger context can be obtained. The two perspectives have no link between the individual and the collective, and the interface between them is un‐addressed. The notion of ʺsocialʺ is aborted. A transformational theory, which takes the Jung model (a psychological sociology) as a point of origin has the potential for this integrative perspective. This theory encompasses both the individual and the social and the nature of their interrelatedness.

Abstract

Psychology as a common sense knowledge about people and their behavior might have been familiar to every culture since the beginning of the human history. As a scientific discipline, however, it seems to be a Western invention. Some even contented that is only the product of the transition from traditional or premodern to modern Western society in the 19 th century (Sampson, 1989). This transition involves change of the functional unit of the social order from the community or any other form of social groupings to the individual. Based on a liberal individualist framework as well as a voluntarist notion of personhood, the modern Western world view the person as a self‐contained individual whose values and relations are the products of her or his own choice. Individuals are antecedent to the society in which they live and the possession of a self is given prior to its

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Mother‐infant relation is very unique. Research on mother‐infant interaction has dated back in the 1970s. Stern (1971) stated that there are some characteristics of mothers when they interact with their ʺinfants. The early interaction between them later in the child’s life predicts how well is the child’s interaction with other people
