Abstract

Continuous population growth and consumption have pushed the manufacturing industry to face significant challenges related to resource and waste management. The linear economic model of "take-use-dispose" is no longer sustainable. The circular economy offers a promising alternative approach, focusing on extending product life, reducing waste, and recovering value. The shift to a circular economy in manufacturing industries has been deemed as a frontrunner among strategies to deal with resource efficiency and sustainable development concerns. This article analyzes various strategies for implementing a circular economy in the manufacturing sector, including design for circularity, industrial symbiosis, recycling and reuse practices, and service-oriented business models. The primary objective is to examine how these strategies can substantially reduce waste, increase resource efficiency, and ultimately create competitive advantage for corporations. This study used a qualitative method with a literature review approach. In the context of this research, the literature study method is used as a descriptive basis for compiling an analytical narrative regarding the application of a circular economy in the manufacturing industry as an effort to reduce waste and increase efficiency. The results of this study show that the prospect of CE goes far beyond environmental protection as it helps to build economic stability, create new working places, and gain competitive advantages in the global economy. Nevertheless, some key barriers remain; poor standardization, technological limitations and cultural issues. It is only possible to fix these problems via innovations for these issues, the multi-stakeholder cooperation, and the sound policies for creating a sustainable industrial revolution.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of Law Number 3 of 2024 concerning the additional term of office of Village Chief in Sumbawa District, specifically in Langam Village. The regulation extends the term of office of Village Chief from six years to eight years, with a maximum limit of two terms. This policy aims to improve the stability of village development and the effectiveness of governance. The type of this study was descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The data used in this study were obtained directly using interview techniques to describe the policy implementation process in the field. The data sources consist of Village Chief and several community and traditional leaders. The collected data was analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques developed by Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. The results of the study showed that although the extension of the term of office has the potential to strengthen the continuity of development programs and community social relations, it also presents challenges such as the potential for authoritarianism, democratic stagnation, and obstacles to village leadership regeneration. These findings provide an important picture for better policy making in managing village government reform in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the potential of Semongkat Nature Tourism Park (TWA) in increasing the Original Village Revenue (PADes) of Kelungkung Village, Batu Lanteh District, Sumbawa Regency. The research used a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection was conducted using interviews, observation, and documentation. The subjects of this research consisted of the Head of Government and the Head of Service at the Kelungkung Village Office, Batu Lanteh Sub-District. Data analysis was conducted descriptively by adopting and adapting the SWOT analysis model, a qualitative analysis that examines internal and external factors. Internal factors, in this case, are strengths and weaknesses. External factors consist of opportunities and threats. SWOT analysis showed that TWA Semongkat's main strengths lie in its preserved natural beauty and improving tourism infrastructure. However, challenges include the village's limited authority over management, the weak role of the village-owned enterprise (BUMDes), and unequal economic impact across sub-villages. Opportunities exist in strengthening BUMDes, collaborating with the tourism-aware community group (Pokdarwis), and optimizing village-owned assets. Threats arise from the lack of formal cooperation with BKSDA and high dependence on informal economic activities. The study concludes that strategic collaboration and local capacity development are essential to maximizing TWA Semongkat’s contribution to Kelungkung Village's PADes.

Abstract

Village Funds are central government aid funds sourced from the State Budget (APBN) allocated for villages. Village Fund Allocation is directed to support the implementation of village governance, infrastructure development, and community empowerment to create more independent, prosperous, resilient, and sustainable villages, as well as reducing disparities and equitable development. However, in practice, the effective use of Village Funds still faces various obstacles, resulting in suboptimal development outcomes and community expectations. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Village Fund allocation in economic equity in Uma Beringin Village, Unter Iwes Sub-District, Sumbawa District. This research used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection was conducted using direct observation, in-depth interview, and documentation. The research subjects were the Village Government and the community of Uma Beringin Village, Unter Iwes Sub-District. The data analysis techniques used include thematic analysis to find patterns and themes from field data, as well as comparative analysis to compare views between the village government and the community. The results of this study showed that although the fund allocation mechanism is in place, community involvement in planning and supervision remains uneven. The dominance of certain groups and lack of transparency restrict citizen participation, especially among marginalized groups. However, involving local labor in infrastructure development empowers residents and enhances local economic circulation. The results suggest that Village Fund allocation needs to be accompanied by increased community participation and management transparency to achieve more equitable economic benefits for the village.

Abstract

Prode SP III Village, Plampang Sub-District, is one of the underdeveloped villages in Sumbawa District. Weak physical and non-physical potential is suspected to be the cause of its underdevelopment. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the efforts of the Prode SP III Village Government in transforming its status from an underdeveloped village to a developing village. This research used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach to describe the steps taken by the village government based on the POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling) management principles. Data collection was conducted using direct observation, in-depth interview, and documentation study. The research subjects were the village head, village officials, and community leaders of the Prode SP III Village. The data analysis used is qualitative analysis with the Miles and Huberman model, with the following steps: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that transformation occurred through basic infrastructure development, strengthening the local economy via MSMEs and agriculture, improved access to education and health services, and active community involvement in development processes. Key supporting factors include natural resource potential, community participation, qualified human resources, and institutional support. This study concludes that village transformation depends not only on structural improvements but also on the social and cultural synergy built through participatory development.
