Abstract

This study aims to describe the procedures for managing MRCP examinations in cases of cholelithiasis at Husada Hospital, Jakarta. This type of research is descriptive qualitative using questionnaire sheets which are used for direct observation, documentation, interviews and literature studies, then data reduction is carried out, categorized and interpreted. Observations were carried out in May- July 2023 with the subjects of this study using 2 patients. From the results of the study it can be described that the MRCP examination technique with cholelithiasis cases at Husada Hospital Jakarta has a special preparation procedure, namely fasting for 5-6 hours and 30 minutes before the examination the patient drinks bittertea (2 sachets of tea bags/4.6 g mixed with mineral water 100 ml) added with 2 mlgadolinium contrast. Patients must first screen to ensure that there are no ferromagnetic materials, this examination uses a sequence that includes a 3-plane localizer, axial dual echo, axial T2, coronal T2, thick slab, 3D MRCP Respiratory Trigger or 3D MRCP Breath hold with time 40 minute check. MRCP examination produces Axial, Coronal and 3D sections in preparation for the patient drinking bitter tea and gadolinium with the addition of 3D MRCP RTR or 3D MRCP BH sequences which can optimally show the anatomy, physiology and abnormalities ofthe gallbladder and biliary system.

Abstract

Background: CT scans can be used as a supporting tool to evaluate various abnormalities and determine certain clinical conditions, one of which is abdominal examination to make clinical diagnoses such as intra abdominal tumors. In this article, an abdominal CT-Scan examination procedure has been carried out in cases of intra-abdominal tumors at the Aulia Hospital Radiology installation. This study aims to determine the abdominal CT-Scan examination procedure in cases of intra-abdominal tumors and to find out information on abdominal CT scans in cases of intra-abdominal tumors at the Aulia Hospital Radiology Installation. Method: The type of research used in this research is qualitative research with a case study approach. Results: The results of the study show that abdominal CT scans in cases of intra-abdominal tumors at the Aulia Hospital installation can be carried out without contrast and the patient is positioned head first. Conclusion: CT scan diagnostic information in cases of plain intra-abdominal tumors is able to provide indications. However, it is better to do an examination with contrast media.

Abstract

BNO IVP radiographic examination is an examination conducted to see the anatomy and function of the urinary tract by injecting a contrast agent into the body through the veins. In the BNO IVP examination, several photos are taken at different minutes. Plain abdominal radiographs are performed with AP projection, 5-minute photos with AP projection, 15-minute photos with oblique projection, 45-minute photos with AP projection, and post-mixi photos with AP erect projection. While the BNO IVP examination at Pekanbaru Medical Center Hospital uses 1 routine projection, namely AP projection on plain abdominal radiographs, 5-minute photos, 15-minute photos, 30-minute photos, 45-minute photos and post-mixi photos so that there is a difference between theory and the field. The purpose of this study was to determine the management of BNO IVP examination techniques with clinical Ureterolithiasis in the Radiology Installation of Pekanbaru Medical Center Hospital using AP projections (plain abdominal radiographs, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 45 minutes and post-mixi photos). In this study, descriptive qualitative research was used by describing the research results in narrative form. The research results were obtained through several stages, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The study was conducted at Pekanbaru Medical Center Hospital in November-December 2022. The management of the BNO IVP examination technique for clinical ureterolithiasis at Pekanbaru Medical Center Hospital used AP projection. AP projection was used in each phase of the image (plain abdominal radiograph, 5-minute, 15-minute, 30-minute, 45-minute, and post-mixi photo) to confirm the diagnosis.

This study aims to determine the abdominal CT Scan examination process in cases of abdominal colic and to determine abdominal scans in cases of abdominal colic at the Radiology Installation of the Ibnu Si Islamic Hospital Pekanbaru. Method: The type of research used in this research is a qualitative researcher with a case study approach. Results: The results of the study showed that CT Scans in cases of abdominal colic at the Ibnu Sina Islamic Hospital Pekanbaru installation could be performed without contrast and the patient was positioned head first. Abstract

Vertigo is a common complaint found in clinical practice. The lifetime prevalence rate of vertigo in adults aged 18-79 years reaches 7.4% with an annual incidence rate of 1.4%. The incidence rate is higher in women than men.Vertigo is a symptom characterized by a feeling of change in the position of the body or the position of the surrounding environment. Based on the location of the cause, vertigo is divided into central and peripheral vertigo. Central vertigo is vertigo caused by diseases originating from the central nervous system. The causes of central vertigo can vary. Some of these are vestibular migraine, vertebrobasilar ischemic stroke, TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack), multiple sclerosis, or tumors located in the cerebellopontine angle and congenital disorders such as Dandy Walker Syndrome. One imaging modality that can diagnose this is Computed Tomography or commonly called CT-Scan. CT-Scan is a process that uses digital processing to produce a three-dimensional internal image of an object from a series of X-rays which produces a two-dimensional image. Head CT-Scan examinations are quite numerous and routinely carried out by almost every Radiology unit that provides CT-Scan services. According to the parameters used must be in accordance with the pathological abnormality, namely by using one range with a slice thickness of 7-10 mm from Basis Cranii up to Vertex.

Abstract

Procedure for radiographic examination of osteoarthritis in the literature by Lampignano and Kendrick (2018), Bilateral AP Weight Bearing projection is used. Meanwhile, for examinations at the Radiology Installation of ARIFIN ACHMAD Regional Hospital, AP projection in the vertical beam direction was used straight and lateral on one side. The aim of this research is to find out the procedure radiographic examination of the knee joint with clinical osteoarthritis, the reason for using the AP / Lat erect projection on one side, as well as the reason for using a perpendicular ray direction in the projection Antero Posterior (AP). This research is qualitative research with a case study approach. Data collection was carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. From the results Research shows that radiographic examination of the knee joint is associated with clinical osteoarthritis requires no preparation. Image processing is carried out using computed radiography. Projection AP supine and lateral on one side are used because they can provide information on bone structure, osteophytes, and narrowing of joint spaces, and provides comfort to patient. In the supine position there is no pressure on the patient's body weight, resulting in narrowing Joint space is less than optimal in establishing a diagnosis of osteoarthritis. Use of vertical beam direction straight on the Antero Posterior (AP) projection, the results of the radiograph can still be seen bone structure, osteophytes, and joint space narrowing in diagnosing osteoarthritis

Abstract

Spinal cord trauma is injury to the spine, either directly or indirectly, which can cause lesions in the spinal cord, resulting in neurological disorders, disability and even death. When applied in one of the pathologies, namely spinal cord trauma, CT-Scan can see an anatomical picture of the head in axial slices and the image can be reformatted into 3 dimensions to see the skull bones more clearly without being obstructed by the surrounding tissue. In this research, the author wants to know the procedure for carrying out CT-Scan examination techniques of the head with clinical suspicion of spinal cord trauma. This research used descriptive method by observation of the patient in Awal Bros Panam. In conclusion, in the 3D CT-Scan examination procedure of facial bones at the Awal Bros Panam Hospital with the theory contained in the book "CT Scan and MRI Radiology Protocol" written by Sigit (2016), there is a slight difference between theory and practice. However, it does not really affect the results of the 3D CT-Scan image of the facial bones, and the doctor can make a good diagnosis.

Abstract

At the Radiology installation of RSUD Arifin Achmad, a thoracic CT-scan examination with clinical indications of lymphoma reveals differences in the procedure compared to field practices. The theoretical approach involves a slice thickness of 5-10 mm and a contrast injection delay of 2 seconds. However, in the practice, a slice thickness of 10 mm is used, and the contrast injection has either a 0- second delay or no delay. The research conducted is qualitative with a case study approach, focusing on three radiographers at RSUD Arifin Achmad in Riau Province. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, and documentation. The gathered data is then analyzed to draw conclusions based on the obtained information. The research findings indicate that in the Radiology Installation of RSUD Arifin Achmad, the thoracic CT-scan technique for lymphoma cases involves a slice thickness of 10 mm and a contrast injection with either a 0-second delay or no delay. This choice is justified by the fact that manually injecting the contrast media alone produces results that effectively highlight any abnormalities.

Abstract

Background: Hydronephrosis is a condition characterized by dilation of the pelvis and renal calyces due to impaired or obstructed urine flow. CT urography can provide more comprehensive anatomical information about the urinary tract and help evaluate the cause and degree of dilation of the pelvicalyceal system. In clinical practice, the examination procedure may be adjusted, including the use of oral hydration without the administration of diuretics. This study aimed to determine the CT urography examination procedure in patients with clinical hydronephrosis at the Radiology Department of Awal Bros Panam Hospital. Methods: The study used a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews, and documentation of the CT urography examination procedure. The study subjects consisted of two radiographers and one radiologist. Data were analyzed descriptively using triangulation techniques. Results: The examination was performed without the administration of diuretics. Patients were advised to increase their fluid intake and to refrain from urinating until the bladder was full. The examination was performed in the supine position, using the head-first method, using a helical abdominal protocol with a scanning range from the xiphoid process to the symphysis pubis. Images were reconstructed in axial, sagittal, and coronal planes. The use of oral hydration and urinary retention can help improve visualization of the urinary tract and provide adequate diagnostic information. Conclusion: CT scan urography procedures for hydronephrosis cases at Awal Bros Panam Hospital can be performed without diuretics by utilizing oral hydration and bladder filling through urinary retention.

Abstract

Hemorrhagic stroke is a cerebrovascular condition caused by the rupture of a blood vessel in the brain, resulting in bleeding and impaired neurological function. A CT scan of the head is one of the main modalities in evaluating stroke because it can provide an image of the brain structure and detect bleeding quickly. One of the technical parameters that plays a role in producing CT scan image quality is slice thickness. Differences in slice thickness can affect the level of anatomical detail and the ability to visualize pathological abnormalities. This study aims to determine the technique of CT scan of the head in patients with clinical suspicion of hemorrhagic stroke and the use of slice thickness in the Radiology Installation of Aulia Hospital. This study used a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation involving two radiographers and one radiologist. The results showed that the CT scan of the head was performed without special preparation, with the patient positioned supine, head-first, and object settings based on the Mid Sagittal Plane (MSP) and Mid Coronal Plane (MCP). The examination used a slice thickness parameter of 1 mm with a scanning time of 60 seconds, a FOV of 200 mm, a voltage of 130 kV, and a current of 25 mA. A 1 mm slice thickness was used to obtain more detailed images. The use of thin slices can increase image detail, helping to more clearly demonstrate structures and pathological abnormalities. This study demonstrates that the implementation of the 1 mm slice thickness head CT scan protocol at Aulia Hospital differs from some literature that uses a larger slice thickness.
