Istoria: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Sejarah Universitas Batanghari diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Sejarah Universitas Batanghari. Jurnal ini diterbitkan dua kali setahun, setiap bulan April dan September yang berisi hasil penelitian (lapangan atau studi pustaka) kajian teoretis maupun kajian kritis. Jurnal ini merupakan salah satu media publikasi bagi penelitian dengan kajian terkini dalam bidang sejarah dan pendidikan sejarah yang meliputi ranah sejarah dan pembelajaran sejarah itu sendiri. Dalam penelitian sejarah teoritis dan kritis mencakup sejarah dunia, sejarah Indonesia, dan sejarah lokal sedangkan pada bidang pendidikan sejarah mencakup strategi pembelajaran sejarah, metode pembelajaran sejarah, evaluasi pembelajaran sejarah, dan hal-hal lain yang berkaitan dengan peningkatan kualitas pendidikan sejarah.

Abstract This study aims to determine the use of mind map media is expected to increase the activity and learning outcomes of students of class VIII IPS Terpadu in SMP Negeri 2 Junjung Sirih Solok District. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK). The object of this research is the students of class VIII consisting of 26 students. This research was conducted on November 22, 2017 - January 13, 2018. The study was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings. At the time of the research, the researcher used observation sheet to see the activity change and the students' learning result during the learning process using mind map learning media. The data obtained is processed by percentage technique. Based on this research, it is found that with the use of mind map can improve the activity and the result of student learning but in the implementation still require the learning strategy and good class management.Keywords: Mind Map, Learning Activity, Learning Outcomes

Abstract The puprpose of this research to explain the existence of PT.Citra Van Titipan Kilat in Jambi City starting from the status of representative to become the main branch during the period 1980-2013. The research method used is historical method including heuristic stages, source critic, interpretation, and historiography. Historical sources used include: archives or company documents, books, theses, theses, and additional referrals from the internet, plus interviews with informants related to the research topic.The results showed that the existence of PT. Citra Van Titipan Kilat in Jambi City since under the management of Ratna Nilam and PT.Titipan Kilat Jambi as its business entity, showed progress in the form of expansion of service by establishing agents in Jambi City. Thus, both PT.Citra Van Titipan Kilat and PT. Jambi Express Fastness is equally beneficial in terms of financial benefits. But in its development can not be denied PT.Titipan Kilat Jambi faced with several other service companies that become competitors in the city of Jambi. Abstract The purpose of this research is to describe the growth and development of the coconut plantation sector in the Api-Api village which is an important economic sector for the society, especially for economic actors involved in economic activities. It also aims to explain the economic life of residents in the Api-Api village ranging from those who became farmers as well as owners, laborers, and toke as a result of the growing sector of the coconut plantation. The research used the history method, which has stages of research from heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography that aims to achieve historical truth. The historical method is a set of systematic principles and rules for collecting historical sources effectively, critically assessing, and presenting systematically in the form of a written report This research also use of a multidisciplinary theoretical approach by applying other social sciences concepts such as economics and sociology. The findings in the field show that the Coconut Dalam Plantation in the Api-Api village is a hereditary effort, continuously experiencing improvement and progress starting from the number and area of land, the number of farmers as well as the owners of coconut plantation, wage labor, and toke, various types of production coconut, and the widespread marketing area. Abstract The main problem of this research is "New Urban Village Economy in Growth, Development and the Impact on Economic Life of the society Period 1984-2009". The purpose of this research is to describe the driving and supporting factors as well as the process of growth and development of the economy of the Kota Baru, as well as explain the impact to the economic life of the society and the progress of the Kota Baru. The research used history method, through several stages of heuristics, criticism, interpretation and historiography.The findings in the field show that Kota Baru has experienced growth and economic development in the long term from 1984-2009. So many supporting factors and driving factors that cause the process of growth and development is included with the modernization of the economy. Even as evidence of the success of growth and economic development, Kota Baru has become an independent integrated village pilot center by the central government and the East Tanjung Jabung Regency Government which will have a positive impact on the local economy as well as the economic life of the people of Kota Baru Village. Abstract The puspose of the research to provide an overview of Burhanudin Mahir's Political Biography of 1954-2016. Starting from What is the background of education and socio-culture that affect the life of Burhanudin Mahir, to how the beginning of political career and the role of Burhanudin Mahir in building the area he leads. The method used in this research is a historical research method that systematically consists of four steps: heuristic, Criticism, Interpretation, Historiography.Research results obtained that Burhanudin Mahir was born in Jambi Kecil on 16 June 1954. He is the second of six brothers of the pair of Mahir Isaac and Arba'ah. He was raised in a religious, affluent and disciplined family because at that time his father was a Pasirah in Jambi Kecil village, Burhanudin Mahir could finish his education up to a bachelor degree at that time it was still very rare to find anyone who could get educational bench. He has held various important positions, starting from the position of chairman of the party, to the Chairman of the Batanghari District Legislative Council where he was the initiator of the Muaro Jambi regency, and his greatest momentum became the Regent of Muaro Jambi for two periods during which served as regent has many changes that he did from the field of Infrastructure, Education, Health, and Economics. Abstract Students can achieve maximum learning outcomes when a teacher appropriately implements teaching media. For that we need an innovative learning media and able to increase the activity and student learning outcomes. Learning media that meet these criteria one of them is the learning media in the card sort game. This research uses quasi-experimental method with pretest-postest design. The subjects of this study were class XI IPS which was divided into two groups namely experimental group (XI IPS 4) and control group (XI IPS 3), with data processing technique using t-test on average of student learning result of history subjects.The result of t-test is thitung = 2.517 and ttable = 1.666 it states that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, because the experimental group learning result is 73,92> 68,91 control group. So it can be concluded that there is influence of learning media in the form of card sort game on student learning result of history subject. Keywords: Media, Card Sort, Learning outcomes

Abstract The purpose of this research is to know the description and influence of peers and interest in learning on the learning outcomes in IPS subjects of class VII students in SMP Negeri 6 Kota Jambi. The sample in the study amounted to 186 students using proportional random sampling technique from a population of 324 students. Based on the results of research, it can be concluded that the presence of friends who have the same age will cause confidence and the emergence of desire or interest in improving student learning outcomes. AbstractIn 1970-1999 the development of gold mining in Indonesia was influenced by the centralistic New Order government's economic policies including the gold mining sector. In 1970 the community in Kecamatan Limun still did the gold mining with the traditional model. In the year 2000 mining model undergoing change and development, people doing gold mining using machine. The impact of mining activities on environmental, social, economic and political damage. The government as the policy owner issues a policy, which ultimately leads to conflict. Abstract The purpose of this research is to know the picture, the influence and the comparison between the use of the learning model of scramble and the probing promting on the result of student learning of class IX on IPS subjects in SMP Negeri 6 Kota Jambi. The research design used is quantitative research with quasi experimental method. Based on the result of research, it can be concluded that there is a comparison of the acquisition of student learning outcomes by using the model of learning scramble and probing promting. Where, student learning outcomes using probing promting learning model is superior because students feel more challenged and courageous and confident to express their own opinions based on their own assumptions. Abstract The purpose of the research to describe how the economic activities of vegetable farmers in Liposos II and the extent to which the influence of vegetable plantations on the economic life of vegetables in Liposos 1996-2007. The method used is historical research methods include heuristic stages, criticism, interpretation and historiography. Historical sources used of local archives and interviews and written literature. Local archives include Liposos II archives. Interviews were conducted with the parties who have a relationship with this research that is the vegetable farmers who are in Liposos II, ranging from government, farmers as well as owners of vegetable land.The approach used is the economic approach, among others, to determine the income and profits of farmers. In addition there is also a sociological approach to see the relationship between vegetable farmers with other vegetable farmers also see the relationship between farmers. The results showed that vegetable planting in Liposos II is still traditional and small scale but this activity still gives a positive influence for the life of the population, especially for those who are directly involved. These influences include improving the welfare of farmers as well as owners of vegetables that create jobs and reduce unemployment. Keywords: Economic Life of Vegetable Farmer, In Liposos
