Abstract

Improving quality of education is not only a national agenda, but also a priority of international agenda. Based on Susenas March 2020, higher education has lowest Gross Enrollment Rate (GER) compared to other education levels. Kalimantan has the lowest GER of higher education in 2020. Small area statistics urgently needed to reach more right on target policies. Although Susenas March 2020 is designed to present estimates up to regency or city level, the Relative Standard Error (RSE) several regencies/cities which is more than 25% indicates that the direct estimator has insufficient precision. Therefore, this study applies indirect estimation using Small Area Estimation (SAE) with the method of Empirical Best Linear Unbiased Predictor (EBLUP) and Hierarchical Bayes Beta-logistic (HB Beta-logistic) to improve the precision of the direct estimator. The results showed that HB Beta-logistic estimator was the most precise estimator compared to direct estimator and EBLUP estimator.

Abstract

All parties hope that the economic development process, which include establishing a good economy and implementing structural changes, will be able to increase income distribution equity. The purpose of this research is to describe the structural changes and income distribution inequality that occurred in West Java in 2011-2019, as well as to investigate the impact of structural changes on income distribution inequality. The analytical method was a panel data regression model with the random effect model as the chosen model. The analysis found that structural changes in West Java are unbalanced transformation, and that structural changes in production and labor have a statistically significant impact on income distribution inequality. With the characteristics, economic growth in the industrial sector has negative impact on income distribution inequality, economic growth in the service sector has a positive impact, and agricultural labor absorption has negative impact.

Abstract

Central Sulawesi province is the province which has the third highest economic growth in Indonesia during 2015-2020. However, high economic growth is not in line with solving problems such as the high percentage of the poor, income inequality, and open unemployment. Based on this, indicators are needed that can be a measure of the success of economic development through inclusive growth. Therefore, this study aims to describe the level of inclusive growth using the inclusive index (II) by Ramos, Ranieri, and Lammens and to find out the factors that influence it in districts/cities in Central Sulawesi. In addition, this study also identifies the spatial interrelationships of inclusive growth. The results show that inclusive growth has increased in the 2015-2020 period. Based on the spatial panel method, with spatial lag fixed effect, obtained positive spatial autocorrelation results. There is a positive and significant influence between Road Infrastructure, Government spending on social protection functions, Processing Industry and Electricity Access on inclusive growth. Government spending on education and access to clean water has a negative and significant impact on inclusive growth

Abstract

The spread of Covid-19 has been declared a pandemic since March 2020. The pandemic coupled with policies by the government resulted in a decline in the economic sector, especially in micro and small industries (IMK). Identifying IMK affected by the Covid-19 pandemic is an important step. There are two types of identification methods that are commonly used, namely statistical-based methods and machine learning-based methods. Each method has different measurement results. Therefore, an appropriate method is needed to identify IMKs affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to compare the hot-deck, SVM and random forest methods, in order to obtain the best method to identify IMK affected by Covid-19. The results obtained are that the random forest method is the best method in identifying IMK affected by Covid-19.

Abstract

In 2020, Papua's Human Development Index (HDI) lags behind other provinces and there is gap between districts/cities. However, the HDI does not provide broad welfare information, so an indicator that can provide information from a broad perspective is needed, namely the people's welfare indicator by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). This study aims to look at welfare through the grouping of regencies/cities in Papua Province based on people's welfare indicators and provide a profile of the cluster formed from the best method. Data sourced from publications and website BPSThe grouping uses cluster analysis with single linkage, average linkage, complete linkage, Ward's, and k-means methods. The results show that there are welfare inequality from various dimensions of district/city welfare in Papua. The best method is Ward's with four cluster results. Cluster 1 is economically prosperous, consisting of eleven districts/cities, cluster 2 is prosperous in employment, consisting of eight districts, cluster 3 is prosperous in health, consisting of six districts, and cluster 4 is prosperous in other social dimensions, consisting of four districts.

Abstract

Safe and proper drinking water is an important element in realizing a healthy life. During the 2017-2021 period, Bengkulu Province became the province with the lowest average percentage of access to safe drinking water in Indonesia. In 2021, the percentage of access to safe drinking water sources in Bengkulu Province is still below the national level, which is 67,39 percent. This figure still cannot reach the RPJMN target to achieve access to safe drinking water of 100 percent. The purpose of this study is to provide a general picture and analyze the influencing variables and trends in access to adequate drinking water sources in Bengkulu Province in 2021with the multilevel binary logistic regression analysis method. The results of this study indicate that variables at the household level, namely regional classification, sanitation facilities, KRT education and poverty status have a significant effect on access to adequate drinking water sources. Then the variable at the regional level, namely GRDP per capita also has a significant effect on access to decent drinking water sources.

Abstract

Tourism is a leading sector in Indonesia, one of which is D.I. Yogyakarta. In 2017, the total number of tourists visiting DIY was 5,229,298. The high intensity of tourist visits is directly proportional to data on people's preferences for tourist attractions. From this problem, authors are interested in conducting a sentiment analysis of tourist attractions with the IndoBERTweet Fine Tuning Neural Network model using Online Travel Agency (OTA) data. This analysis is intended so that the government and local tourism managers can easily take a decision or policy in increasing the comfort of tourist attractions. Based on this analysis, five tourist attractions with the highest number of visitor reviews were obtained, namely, Malioboro Street, Tamansari Water Palace, Yogyakarta Palace, Yogyakarta Smart Park, and Yogyakarta Monument. Sentiment analysis of this classification produces an accuracy value of 92.84%, with weighted average recall of 93%, precision of 92%, and F1-Score of 93%.

Abstract

Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) is a health problem that often occurs in the global. Beside health problems, STIs are also one of the causes of social and economic problems in many countries. The exact cases number of STIs are not yet known in Indonesia. This makes the spread of STIs are difficult to trace its source. Therefore, in order to reduce the cases of STIs, it can approached by increasing public knowledge about STIs . This study aims to determine the general description and the effect of education level, welfare level, age, area of residence, and mass media access on the level of knowledge about STIs among Indonesian adolescent girls in 2017. In achieving this goal, data from Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) 2017 were analyzed using binary logistic regression method. The results of this study indicate that adolescent girls who have a good level of knowledge mostly graduating from high school, a rich level of welfare, 20-24 years old, living in urban areas, accessing newspapers, radio, television, and the internet. The level of STI knowledge among Indonesian adolescent girls is influenced by education level, welfare level, age, area of residence, access to newspapers, radio access, and internet access.
