Abstract

Data collection activities through large-scale surveys are often faced with constraints of time, effort, and operational costs, especially if the data to be collected is urgent. One way to overcome this is to use a rapid survey. However, the rapid survey uses a mapping sample frame which does not contain all observation units, resulting in a coverage error that affects the estimated value. Therefore, the researcher aims to determine the coverage error and bias values observed and then compare the accuracy and efficiency of the rapid survey and conventional survey. The research’s stage are development sampling frame, simulation, indicator calculation, RMSE comparison, and efficiency analysis. The estimation’s results in the mapping frame is underestimated and has lower accuracy than conventional survey. Rapid survey are more efficient when fix RMSE and no more efficient than conventional survey when fix time.

Abstract

One of the problems in the health sector is the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The country of Indonesia itself is in the 5th most at risk of HIV/AIDS in the Asian continent (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2013). The island of Java as the area with the highest number of cases with a population of about 56 percent of the total population of Indonesia. The purposes of this study are to find out the general description of the distribution of HIV/AIDS in Java and to identify the influencing factors by considering the effect of regional proximity. The results of the analysis show that the distribution of the number of HIV/AIDS cases is relatively clustered between regions that have high and low number of cases, this indicates a spatial effect between regions. Then the GWNBR shows that there are differences in the significance of the variables in each region and forms 9 groups of regency/municipality based on the significant variables.

Abstract

Employment is one of the problems of every developing country, including Indonesia. Job creation is a very important issue for economic development. The Province of the Special Region of Yogyakarta is a province that is quite successful in overcoming labor problems with the third highest TPAK after Bali and Papua in 2018 with a percentage of TPAK that has tended to be stable since 2015. However, it turns out that the percentage of poor people who work in the informal sector in Yogyakarta is very large, reaching 44.97%. , almost half of the total. The income level of workers in the informal sector is much lower than that of workers in the formal sector. Data on the income level of informal workers was identified as unbalanced data because the comparison between workers with low and non-low incomes was very unequal. Therefore, the SMOTE method is used to overcome the problem of unbalanced data. The classification method used in this study is binary logistic regression. This study aims to determine the variables that affect the income level of informal workers and compare the models before and after SMOTE to get the best classification model. The results of the model evaluation show that the model after SMOTE is better at classifying the income level of informal workers. Furthermore, the variables that affect the income level of informal workers are classification of residence, gender, marital status, job training, education level, business field, age, and working hours..

Abstract

Education is the basic capital in the development of a country. Thus, education is one of the development goals contained in the SDGs and the UUD 1945. During the COVID-19 pandemic, UNESCO estimates that out of 180 countries, around 24 million students will be at risk of dropping out of school. The school participation of the population aged 16-18 at the senior high school have a smaller percentage compared to the population elementary school and junior high schoo. In 2021, West Java Province has the lowest senior high school participation in Java and the third lowest in Indonesia, which is only 67.80 percent. This study uses the March 2021 Susenas data with the Binary Logistics Regression method. The results obtained in this study are the variables of gender, working status, KIP/PIP ownership status, cellular phone ownership status, head of household education, number of household members, area of residence and household poverty status have a significant effect on school participation status.

Abstract

Indonesia, as the fourth most populous country in the world, has great human resource potential to drive economic growth. Based on BPS data, around 69.5% of Indonesia's population is of productive age, which also increases the number of workforce every year. However, limitations in providing formal employment can cause some of the workforce, including Gen Z, to be absorbed into the informal sector. Although the informal sector has continued to grow in recent years, this sector is still faced with a number of problems, such as low wages, minimal social protection, and the dominance of low-educated workers. This study focuses on the period 2021–2023, namely the post-COVID-19 pandemic recovery period marked by the acceleration of digitalization in the world of work. The purpose of this study is to analyze the variables that influence the percentage of Gen Z informal workers in Indonesia. Using data sourced from BPS and the Ministry of Manpower, the FEM SUR method was produced on a panel of data from 34 provinces. It was found that the variables of average length of schooling, income, internet, certified training, provincial minimum wage, and GRDP per capita had a significant negative influence on the percentage of informal workers of Gen Z.. This finding suggests that improving the quality of education and economic support can drive Gen Z towards more formal and protected jobs.
