Abstract

The system of education has some components  such as lacturers, students, curriculum, education resources, administrators and leaders of institution. Those components interact and proceed to achieve the goals. If one wants to develop the quality of education, he must improve and control all components. In the information era, the role of high education become more important, because the qualified education can provide skilful young generation who are able to participate in developing country.

Abstract

The role of education become more important and urgent to educate people in order to participate in the process of nation building. Because the success of developoing country is not only based on the natural resources, but also it is based on the human resources, yet they still become under developing coutries. in contras, some coutries which have few natural resources can develop themeselves to modern ones because they have qualified human resources. As a result, education os the best way to qualify the human resources.

Abstract

In 1970 the Rome Club cooperated with Massachussets Institute of Technology Team and Potomac Associates to publish a term paper titled "The Limits to Growth". The paper consist of the identification of main problems faced by human being on global level and what people should do in order to avoid those problems bocoming more dangerous. In accordance with The Limits to Growth, there are five trends to be global danger i.e. the increasingness of industrialization, the quickness of population growth, the wideningness of malnutritio, the decreasingness of irrenewable naturalresources, and the last but not the least is that the quality living environment become more decreasing.

Abstract

Suharyadi, the general secretary of the Consultative Board of Private Universities, said that the quality of education would be better if teachers' and lecturers' welfare were improved. The statement seems logical. In Practice, however, is not so simple as that. Because there are many factors in the practice of teaching and learning process which affect the lecturers to achieve the instructional goals such as the background of lecturers, the background fo students, and the condition of campus as a place to transfer knowledge and technology.

Abstract

Theoretically, additional education can improve lecturer's competence in teaching. Research, however, concluded that there was not any significant difference between teaching competence and lecturer's level education. The fact above has two possiblities i.e. first, the lecturers who studied in magister program might not be relevant to their educational background (scholar of S1). Second, for those who studied in magister program might have had some teaching experience before. Dwi Priyo Utomo and Ainur Rofieq summerize Endang Purwanti's research entitled "Tingkat Kompetensi Mengajar Dosen PTS di Jawa Timur (1982)".

Abstract

This fact begins since a long time ago when Greek Philosophers such as Socrates, Plato and Aristoteles lead the world. Abstract

Indonesi next 21 th century will face three big problems i.e. science and technology development, ecology and emography. These problems will caouse Indonesian toward complicated position unless they increase and improve the quality of education. University is one of the  formal high education which must develop the human resources in order to be able to solve the problems. Abstract

There are many "mystries" in every revealed religion. The essence of God, for Instance, is a kind of absolute and ultimate concept in religious discourse. His omnipresence, however, can be traced to many kinds of human and mondial experience, In other words, the existence of God connot be ignored by His creatures. Everyman who conceives His presence to this world will be able to be closer to Him. Consequently, he can do everything in line with His teachings, just for the sake of His blessing and mercy. To get this ideal goal, the method which offered by Rudolf Otto can be adopted to every religion. It is, of course, depending and based on each religion which is beleived by man. Moslem, for example, can adopt it to be closer to Allah, The Grace an The Merciful.

Abstract

The two main affairs in every university are academic affairs ans student affairs. No gap between them. They strengthen and tighten each other. University will have a good achievement and prestige when these two pillars are combined harmoniously. Here is fundamental existence of student. To educate a good student, university needs a good framework of his affairs. Muhammadiyah Universities (Perguruan Tinggi Muhammadiyah/PTM) can be considered as "the biggest" universities in Indonesia. They almost exist in every big cities such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Malang, Surakarta and Palembang. They need a good framework of student affairs to produce a good sholars.
