Abstract

Exploring the treaties upon the tradition of Islamic thought, Moslem Historians agree with each other to start the period of Ustman r.a.'s leadership as a the third  caliph replacing Umar r.a: This is considered as the culmination of trigger of scism origins that, in the long run, causes the four big mazhabs in Islam appear.

Abstract

Historically, moslems were the grear del of Indonesian people. Until recent times, they have a most strategic powers quantitatively. Unfortunely, it does not accompanied by their real role in the light of qualitative aspect. It can be traced into the economic and political authorities. Indonesian moslems, therefore, must reconstruct their real life to do the best for glory of Islam. They have to engineer a modern exaggeration of their teachings to manifest politcal engineering.

Abstract

The phenomoneon of Islamic study development lately seems to be choked. There is a tendency to make sancity in the area of examination. Meanwhile, politically, among the relationship between Islam and state continues to be the polemic and discussion centre among intellectual Moslems or Islamic political scholar from the period of pre-modern, modern even until contemporary (this time). It is because there is no explicit and total explanation from Islamic sources. Responding to the issue, the dialogue of Bestari this time presents DR. Amin Abdullah (the Lecturer of Postgradute Program of IAIN) Syarif Hidayatullah of Jakarta) and DR. Dien Syamsuddin (the former Chairman of PP Pemuda Muhammadiyah).

Abstract

Islamic thought is a dynamic aspect of the Islamic obsevers to conduct examinations based on various interdisciplinary approaches. As a dynamic aspect, the Islamic thought experiences the process of reformation and transformation in its form which is in contemporary pattern. Altough it always develops, caused by its creative and dynamic dialect between "the big tradition" (Islam) and "the small one" the Islamic thought often shows its wholeness since it stands on Islamic doctrine which is universal. By using sociological approach, this article describes again the development of the Islamic thought.

Abstract

Related to the national development, rural industrialization must be capable of playing its role as a part of agrarian and rural economy transformation. So that it will change gradually into industrial economy. Hence, as a matter of fact, the role and potential of farm-industry as the main activator of the rural Industrialization through its capability of motivating the growth and as a part of the rural economy transformation. And to reach that goal, the additional values from the farm-industry must be created.

Ada satu asumsi mengatakan bahwa gerakan pembaharuan atau reformasi "orientasi pemikiran" Islam yang dilakukan oleh Muhammadiyah melawan, utamanya, bit'ah, kurafat dan takhayul disisi lain justru "menggeser" budaya-budaya "Islam" lokal - tradisional, pada yang bersifat formal. Muhammadiyah memang berhasil melakukan pembaharuan dibidang pendidikan dan usaha-usaha sosialnya, tetapi amat marginal di bidang seni dan budaya. Benarkah asumsi itu bila dikaitkan dengan fenomena-fenomena yang terjadi sebagai efek dari dinamika Muhammadiyah ?

Abstract

the dichotomy of Islamic thought between traditionalism which gives more emphasis on the aspect of standard doctrine, and rationalism which tends to be open for the whole aspects of science seems being the trigger of hostility of the both sides. Nevertheless, what Moslem should do is developing the philosophy discourses to respond to the increase of western scientific tradition which nota bene has reduced the aspect of trancendental-spiritual that will point to scularism. Furthermore, the following writing serves a responsive alternative for the Islamic thought development, especially, in scientific philosophy field to rearrange the Islamic science tradition which is almost ignored.

Abstract

Hasan Bashri is a pioneer or, a little further, a figure of change between common and sufic ascetic. Besides, he was still in the pattern of common 'zuhud', that is only motivated by al-khauf wa al-raja', the fear (anxiety) of Allah's anger through His tortures and overcome by the hope of God's favor and heavenly reward.

Abstract

There is a tendency that the area of land for agriculture gets narrower and narrower and the rate of rural population growth increases the number of unemployment in countries. Meanwhile the development strategies applied in the sector of agriculture seems uncapable of giving opportunity for the growth of new job alternatives in the sector of nonagriculture. Therefore, what is needed at this time is that agricultural sector considering the interrelatedness between the sector of agriculture and non-agriculture.
