Abstract

Toddlerhood, especially during the first 1,000 days of life, is a critical phase for growth and development. Balanced nutrition during this period greatly determines children’s future health and development. Mothers play a central role in fulfilling children’s nutritional needs; therefore, effective education methods are required. This study aimed to examine the effect of video-based education on mothers’ knowledge of balanced nutrition for toddlers. The population consisted of all mothers of toddlers in Tanjung Sari Village, East Lampung. The sample was 64 mothers selected using total sampling. A pre-experimental design with one-group pretest-posttest was applied. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire before and after a 5-minute educational video, which was screened twice. Data analysis used a paired t-test to determine knowledge differences before and after the intervention. Results showed a significant improvement in mothers’ knowledge after the intervention (mean difference = 15.07; p < 0.001). Video-based education effectively increases mothers’ knowledge of balanced nutrition for toddlers. This medium is recommended for healthcare workers and posyandu cadres as an engaging, efficient, and easy-to-understand educational tool.

Abstract

The survey results found that as many as (32.0%) adolescent girls experienced anemia in Indonesia. Anemia causes negative impacts in the short and long term in adolescent girls and women of childbearing age. One way to overcome anemia is the use of media in education, which can be explained how to instill and develop knowledge and attitudes in adolescents so that they are aware and care about good nutritional health to prevent anemia. The purpose of this study is to find out the influence of health education with e-book media on knowledge and attitudes about anemia in adolescent girls. This research was conducted in the Semarang city area. This study uses Quasy experimental design nonequivalent control group design. The sample was selected using a total sampling technique totaling 61 respondents. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon test. The results of the study show that there is an influence of health education with e-book media on increasing knowledge and attitudes about anemia. With increased knowledge (p-value = 0.000) and attitude (p-value = 0.000). And there was a difference in influence between the two groups of p-value 0.000 on knowledge and p-value 0.000 on attitude. The results of this study are expected to increase the awareness and knowledge of adolescent girls about anemia, become a strategic reference for health workers in policy making, provide a foundation for the development of further research, and encourage Islamic boarding schools to create an environment that supports adolescent health and nutrition optimally.

Abstract

Based on the 2018-2019 Hepatitis and Digestive Tract Infection Information System (SIHEPI), the number of pregnant women tested for hepatitis B was 1,643,204 in 34 provinces. As a result, 30,965 pregnant women were reactive (infected with the hepatitis B virus), and 15,747 newborns from hepatitis B-reactive mothers were given Hepatitis B Immunoglobulin (HBIg). The purpose of this study was to analyze factors related to the incidence of hepatitis B in pregnant women at the Community Health Center in Kelurahan C. This study used a quantitative method with a case-control design where factors related to hepatitis B in pregnant women were tested simultaneously. The sample in this study was 50 people. The results showed a relationship between ANC and the incidence of Hepatitis B (p value 0.040). There was no relationship between education, occupation, family history and history of misuse of unused syringes (p value > 0.05).
