Abstract

Jakaba (perennial luck mushroom) is a fungus derived from the fermentation of rice laundry water (leri). This fungus has the same physical shape as coral but has a fragile texture. This study aims to find out the growth of jakaba with the addition of organic matter in rice laundry water. The research was conducted in Padang Halaban village, Aek Kuo District, Labuhan Batu Utara Regency, North Sumatra. The research was conducted by mixing 1 liter of leri water with 400 grams of organic ingredients such as bran, banana peel and catfish feed Research was carried out by repeating each treatment as much as 6 repetitions with the parameters of salting, namely aroma, color, growth and diameter of jakaba. Based on observations, it is known that the growth of jakaba fungus occurs on the 12th day to the 15th day with the largest jakaba diameter which is 52.9 mm (P2) and the smallest is 40.25 mm (P1). The addition of other organic matter to leri water gives a different aroma and color of jakaba to each treatment.

The aim of the study was to determine the effect on the growth of Red Chili (Capsium Annum L) plants on cutting shoots on chili leaves. Chili is a staple for consumption in everyday life. Chili peppers can be made more productive by using the right gardening techniques. Maintenance measures such as cutting shoots of chili plants with a dichotomous are one approach to increase chili yields. Pruning dichotomous shoots seeks to remove less productive plant parts to maximize. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments with 5 replications, in order to obtain 22 experimental units, each bed planted with 30 chili plants. The total number of plants is 30 x 5 = 150 plants. For the experimental unit, 3 were selected to be used as plant samples. From the observations, if the F test shows a significant effect, it will be continued with the Duncan' New Multiple Range test (DNMRT) at a 5% significance level. As treatment, namely: A = Pruning 7 DAP, B = Pruning 4th branch, C = No pruning, D = Pruning 14 DAP. Cutting the tops of leaves to increase the yield of the red chili, the results of the study concluded: 1. Red chili plants that were trimmed branches made the chili plants taller, 2. Trimming leaves caused the emergence of new leaf blades to increase 3. And cutting leaf shoots was useful for improve the yield of chili plant quality. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze and describe the temporal distribution of arthropods on purslane (Portulaca oleracea L.) on red chili farms, Afdeling II Village, West Bilah Subdistrict, Labuhanbatu Regency. This research method is descriptive exploratory research with a quantitative approach. This is to describe and analyze the temporal distribution of arthropods in purslane (Portulaca oleracea L.). Data was observed from the arrival of arthropods at a predetermined time, namely three 3 observation times, including: time I (07.00-08.00), time II (12.00-13.00), and time III (16.00-17.00) for 10 minutes. Each time the observation was repeated 4 times. The results of this study showed that the daily visits of arthropods at 12.00-13.00 were higher than the daily visits at 07.00-08.00 and 16.00-17.00. Each family of arthropods has a different level of daily visits at each time of arrival which is caused by internal factors (physiological, reproductive ability, life cycle, age) and external factors (physical factors, food, temperature and humidity). The daily visit frequency of this arthropod indicates that purslane (Portulaca oleracea L.) is a habitat for arthropods and can be used as a refugia plant.

Abstract

Optimizing the use of plantains depends not only on increasing its production but also on improving post-harvest operations before it reaches the final consumer. Proper management during the post-harvest period is better than using advanced technology. Themain objective of this study is to preserve plantains in a traditional cold pot in the locality of Man. To carry out this experiment, we used a device consisting of a large pot containing a small pot and clay filling the space between the pot and the large pot. This device, commonly known as the “desert fridge”, has enabled us to obtain green lifespans for the Corne 1 and Agnrin cultivars of between 15 and 22 days. During our conservation, the physical and biochemical characteristics of plantains were determined. The analyzes revealed a slight lower mass loss: Horn 1 (6.85 ±0.2%) and Agnrin (7.4 ±0.5%), loss of firmness and dry matter, reduction in starches and dietary fiber. But on the other hand, an increase in the content of reducing sugars, the transfer of the color of the skin from green to yellow of the stored plantains.
