Abstract

Abstract

Efforts to diversify corn-based processed products have not been widely carried out by the community, including LMDH in Candisari village, Lamongan Regency. This is due to the lack of knowledge and skills in the community regarding innovations in corn-based food processing, and people are more likely to sell corn directly to middlemen to make ends meet. The main aim of this socialization is to provide LMDH with a solution on how to use sweet corn in the Candisari Village area to process it into marketable food products using simple technology. This is the basis for socialization activities and the use of corn processing carried out in Candisari Village, Sambeng District, Lamongan Regency. The result of the socialization is an increase in community knowledge and skills in innovation in corn pudding processing and product marketing.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of harvested area, rice prices, rice consumption, and population on food security in East Java Province. The data used are secondary panel data from 38 districts/cities over the 2020–2024 period, analyzed using panel data regression with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach. Model selection was determined through Chow and Hausman tests, where the Chow test favored FEM and the Hausman test indicated REM; however, FEM was retained for deeper interpretation due to its stronger within-group explanatory power. The estimation results show that harvested area (coef = 0.0000721; p < 0.01), rice prices (coef = 0.0009185; p < 0.01), and population (coef = 0.00001874; p < 0.01) have a positive and significant effect on food security, while rice consumption has no significant impact. The within R² value of 0.5272 indicates that the model can explain 52.72% of the variation in food security within regions. These findings emphasize the need for regionally adaptive agricultural policies and spatial food distribution improvements to enhance resilience and food system performance.

Abstract

This study examines the root causes of failures in the implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with a focus on human resource factors and employee work behavior. Although GMP implementation has been widely studied, research that positions behavioral aspects as the primary root cause of GMP non-compliance at the SME level remains limited. This study aims to analyze corrective actions based on the root causes of GMP non-compliance that do not meet established standards. The study employs a qualitative analysis method using interview and questionnaire approaches, with data analyzed using NVivo version 12 Pro software. The assessment of GMP implementation at CV Dua Putri Sholehah was conducted based on eleven aspects and involved ten informants from the production, packaging, and peeling sections. The results indicate that employee health and hygiene are the most problematic aspects, particularly low compliance with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Root cause analysis reveals that failures in GMP implementation are more dominantly influenced by employee behavioral factors related to weak internal regulations and supervision systems rather than limitations in physical facilities. These findings provide a new perspective in the food safety literature by emphasizing that successful GMP implementation in SMEs is highly dependent on the management of employee behavior and compliance. The recommended corrective actions include optimizing regulations and supervision through the improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), strengthening supervision systems, consistent enforcement of sanctions, increasing GMP socialization and education, and conducting regular audits and evaluations.

Abstract

Coffee is one of Indonesia's most important commodities, providing income for coffee farmers, generating foreign exchange for the country, and serving as raw materials for industry. In recent years, the number of coffee shops in Mojokerto City has increased significantly, in line with growing public interest, especially among the younger generation, in coffee culture. This increase has sparked intense competition among coffee shops, prompting business owners to develop precise positioning and unique differentiation. Customer experience is now determined not only by the taste of the coffee but also by the shop's atmosphere and overall product quality. Toko Kopi Bersaudara in Mojokerto, as one of the local coffee shops targeting the Generation Z segment, needs to understand how these elements are interconnected. This study examines the impact of shop ambiance and product quality on customer loyalty, with customer satisfaction serving as a mediator. The study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data collection was conducted in January and February 2025. Non-probability sampling techniques were employed, specifically a purposive sampling approach with elements of random sampling. With a sample of 100 respondents and WarpPLS 7.0 for data analysis, this study measured four variables: shop atmosphere and product quality (exogenous), customer satisfaction (mediation), and customer loyalty (endogenous). The model meets the criteria for both exogenous and endogenous models. The results indicate that store atmosphere and product quality have a positive and significant impact on Gen Z loyalty, mediated by customer satisfaction. To enhance satisfaction and loyalty, businesses can implement bundling strategies and membership reward programs. These findings provide practical insights and policy recommendations to improve Gen Z engagement and retention in small cafes like Bersaudara Coffee.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the raw material inventory of sugarcane using the Economic Production Quantity (EPQ) method in the sugar production process at PT. Sinergi Gula Nusantara Mojokerto. The objectives of this study are to: (1) analyze the impact of sugarcane raw material inventory on the smoothness of sugar production, (2) determine the optimal economic inventory quantity for daily production, and (3) analyze the cost efficiency of raw material inventory in daily production at PG. Gempolkrep. The data analysis methods used in this study are descriptive analysis and the EPQ method. The results show that the smoothness of production at PG. Gempolkrep is disrupted due to unmet sugarcane raw material needs, caused by the conversion of land use, especially sugarcane farming areas in the Mojokerto region. This leads to an insufficient supply of raw materials for PG. Gempolkrep. Additionally, the EPQ calculation of production quantity shows a significant comparison with the company's policy. The production quantity based on the company's policy is still below the average daily production target of 600 tons per day, while the EPQ calculation results in a production quantity of 600-700 tons per day, which is above the target. This indicates that PG. Gempolkrep is not yet optimal in its production. Regarding production costs, the EPQ method calculation is more efficient than the production costs incurred by PG. Gempolkrep. The average production cost according to PG. Gempolkrep is Rp. 23,785,399, while the EPQ calculation shows Rp. 22,574,245, resulting in cost savings of Rp. 1,211,154. From these calculations, it can be concluded that using the EPQ method is more economical and efficient in managing production costs.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of service and product quality on purchasing decisions, considering brand trust as a mediator among Kopi Sejuta Jiwa consumers in Surabaya. The approach used is quantitative with a population consisting of Kopi Sejuta Jiwa buyers in Surabaya. The research sample consisted a total of 100 respondents were chosen through accidental sampling. Data collection was conducted via questionnaires and subsequently analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), including testing measurement models and structural models, and a bootstrapping process using SmartPLS 4.0 software. Based on the results of data analysis, this study found that good service makes consumers more likely to buy a product. Product quality also influences purchasing decisions. In addition, satisfactory service increases consumer trust in the brand. Brand trust significantly influences purchasing decisions and functions as a mediator in the relationship connecting service quality with purchasing behavior, while product quality does not significantly influence brand trust, and brand trust does not play a mediating role between product quality and purchasing decisions. The results of the study also indicate that product quality and service quality have a significant impact on brand trust and purchase decisions. The coefficient of determination (R²) indicates that the model explains 43% of the variation in brand trust and 69% of the variation in purchase decisions. These findings indicate that factors beyond brand trust influence purchasing decisions at Kopi Sejuta Jiwa Surabaya
