Abstract

Jatiluwih Subak Agrotourism is known for its stunning natural panorama, especially its unique terraced rice fields and traditional irrigation system which has been recognized as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. This study aims to examine the influence between variables, namely: (a) attributes on tourists' trust and visiting decisions; (b) service quality on trust and visiting decisions; (c) trust on visiting decisions; (d) the role of trust as a mediating variable in the relationship between attributes and visiting decisions; and (e) the role of trust as a mediating variable in the relationship between services and visiting decisions. The approach used is qualitative and quantitative with a survey method by distributing questionnaires to 100 tourist respondents who visited Jatiluwih Subak Agrotourism. Data analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using SmartPLS 4.1 software. The results of the study show that: (a) attributes have a positive and significant effect on trust; (b) services have a positive and significant effect on trust; (c) attributes have a positive and significant effect on visiting decisions; (d) services have a positive and significant effect on visiting decisions; (e) trust has a positive and significant influence on the decision to visit; (f) attributes are not proven to have a significant influence on the decision to visit through trust as a mediating variable; and (g) service has a significant influence on the decision to visit with trust as a mediating variable. Suggestions that can be given to managers include arranging parking areas, conducting routine evaluations, and providing consistency in services to maintain tourists' trust and decisions.

Abstract

Agrotourism of Subak Jatiluwih is an agrotourism located in Tabanan Regency, renowned for its unique terracing system and its preservation of traditional irrigation methods, which has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2012. The purpose of this research is to (a) analyze the influence of attributes on visitor trust at Subak Jatiluwih Agrotourism; (b) analyze the influence of image in shaping visitor trust at Subak Jatiluwih Agrotourism; (c) analyze the influence of service quality in shaping visitor trust at Subak Jatiluwih Agrotourism. This study employs both qualitative and quantitative approaches through a survey method by distributing questionnaire to 100 visitors at Subak Jatiluwih Agrotourism. The data analysis technique used is Structural Equation Modeling with the SmartPLS 4.1.1 software. The result show that (a) agrotourism attributes significant effect on visitor trust; (b) the agrotourism image insignificant effect on visitor trust; (c) the quality of agrotourism services significant effect on visitor trust. Therefore, it is recommended to pay more attention to and improve the existing agrotourism image to influence visitor trust.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are a key pillar in supporting regional economic growth, but they often face serious challenges in managing human resources (HR) sustainably to maintain productivity stability. Difficulties in retaining quality HRM have caused culinary MSMEs in Surakarta City to frequently face challenges in employee turnover and retention due to a lack of incentives and limited training. Culinary MSMEs have not been fully able to implement sustainable human resource practices. Many culinary MSMEs still face limitations in the use of environmentally friendly raw materials, waste management, and energy efficiency. The dilemma between needs and profitability causes additional costs. This study examines the application of Sustainable Human Resource Management (SHRM) with a Sustainability Employee Life Cycle (SELC) approach in increasing the productivity of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the culinary sector in Surakarta City. Using a mixed methods design, specifically Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), on a sample of 60 culinary SME actors in Surakarta City. This study assesses the relationship between green recruitment practices, continuous training, value-based performance evaluation, and retention strategies on operational efficiency and human resource performance. The main dimensions analyzed in this model include green recruitment practices, continuous training, value-based evaluation, and employee retention strategies. The results show that the implementation of SHRM integrated with SELC can improve the performance of culinary MSMEs in line with the targets of each factor that supports sustainable productivity.

Abstract

Business competition is a natural occurrence in any market. The decline in tourist visits and revenues occurred due to the emergence of similar competitors in Karanganyar Regency. This study was conducted to analyze effective marketing strategies to address this competition, thereby increasing tourist visits and agrotourism revenue. Amanah Agrotourism is an agricultural-based educational tourism destination, enhancing tourists' knowledge and experience. The purpose of this study was to understand the competitive conditions faced by Amanah Agrotourism. This study utilized primary and secondary data. Some data were generated through observation and interviews with respondents. Respondents were selected using purposive sampling. This study employed market structure analysis. Market structure analysis is conducted to evaluate companies' interactions, competition, pricing, and market share. The results of the market structure analysis at Amanah Agrotourism indicate that Amanah Agrotourism has 11 competitors similar to Amanah Agrotourism. Based on the market share analysis, Amanah Agrotourism has a market share that focuses only on a small segment and has not yet dominated the entire market.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in rice farming productivity carried out by farmers in West Nusa Tenggara Province, with the sample location being in Central Lombok Regency using the utilization of the Internet of Things (IoT). Technological developments in the agricultural world are essential to increase agricultural yields. The technology is in the form of soil and weather sensors that will measure in real time. With indicators measuring air temperature, soil pH, rainfall and soil moisture. Through these indicators connected to the internet, so that farmers can receive information obtained via smartphone. The number of samples used in this study was 75 rice farmers. The time used in this study was in MT I and MT II in 2023. The results of the study obtained a 260% increase in productivity from the production results obtained by farmers, while in MT I farmers still used conventional cultivation methods/what farmers usually do, the productivity obtained before using IoT was 2,082 kg/Ha and after using IoT was 7,502 kg/Ha. The results of the paired sample test showed a statistically significant increase in productivity after the implementation of IoT. Average productivity increased from 2,082 kg to 7,502 kg per growing season, with an average difference of 5,420 kg. The calculated t-value (t = 8.08, df = 74) shows statistical significance at the 5% level (p < 0.001). Furthermore, the effect size (Cohen's d = 0.93) indicates a large practical impact of IoT implementation on agricultural productivity. Based on the results of the t-test, it shows that there is a significant difference, so it can be concluded that the use of IoT in rice farming has a real impact on increasing productivity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the efficiency value of the vegetable product supply chain in the Aspakusa Makmur Boyolali Association. Aspakusa Makmur Boyolali is a fresh vegetable distributor company that distributes channels from partner farmers to retail supermarkets such as Lotte Mart, Superindo, and other retailers in the Central Java Region. The analysis method used in this study is Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and uses DMU (Decision Making Unit), this method is a mixture of quantitative and qualitative methods. The results of the study show that the distribution of vegetables from farmers to Aspakusa and to Retail is inefficient due to several factors. Factors affecting inefficiencies include limited access to technology, fluctuations in market demand, and supply instability due to weather. These findings confirm the need to increase production capacity, adopt modern technology, and strengthen distribution networks to improve supply chain efficiency in Aspakusa Makmur Boyolali. To increase efficiency, strategic efforts are needed in the form of increasing production capacity, using modern agricultural technology, and strengthening distribution and institutional networks. The results of the research are expected to be a reference for relevant institutions in formulating policies to strengthen the horticultural supply chain at the local and regional levels.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of Indonesia’s logistics sector, particularly within the e-commerce domain, necessitates adaptive and data-driven shipment monitoring strategies. Operational assessments in one logistics case reveal two critical negative symptoms: customer complaints resulting from discrepancies between the Estimate Time Arrival (ETA) and Actual Time Arrival (ATA), and the presence of excessive or out-of-budget distribution costs on several delivery routes. Addressing these issues requires analytical approaches capable of capturing complex shipment behavior across diverse geographic areas. This study aims to optimize shipment monitoring strategies using the Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering method applied to operational data from the general trade logistics sector on Java Island. A total of 1,076 shipment records were analyzed using seven key variables: Sub Area, Actual Time Delivery (ATD), Actual Time Arrival (ATA), Colly, CBM, and Weight. FCM clustering produced five distinct distribution clusters with varying operational characteristics. Cluster 3 demonstrated the highest efficiency, exhibiting the largest shipment volume (Colly = 1,690.86; CBM = 24.86; Weight = 18,400.65 kg) and the fastest ATD (0.78 hours), indicating strong performance in dense and accessible regions. In contrast, Clusters 1 and 4 recorded the highest Sub Area values (9.25 and 9.04) and slower ATD durations (>2.5 hours), highlighting significant logistical challenges in remote areas prone to delays and elevated costs. Membership analysis further showed that distribution points predominantly aligned with a single cluster while retaining cross-cluster behavioral flexibility. These findings offer a foundation for data-driven operational strategies, including fleet redistribution, adaptive scheduling, cost control, and last-mile delivery remapping. The proposed clustering approach enhances visibility into shipment patterns and supports more efficient, responsive, and adaptive decision-making in logistics supply chain management.

Abstract

Farming is an activity carried out by farmers in managing inputs or production factors in farming. Agricultural inputs will produce agricultural products if transformed with other inputs. Activities to transform production factors require labor in farming. The use of labor in farming will certainly have consequences for farming costs. The purpose of this study was to analyze the amount of work time and labor costs in the development of several types of vegetables in Kehiran Village. The data analysis method was carried out using a quantitative descriptive approach. The results showed that the total amount of work time in vegetable farming was 210.64 HKSP; chili farming was 693.24 HKSP; kale farming was 215.90 HKSP; and red spinach farming was 65.51 HKSP. The total labor cost in cayenne pepper farming was Rp 23,350,000, while in kale farming it was Rp 3,748,571.

Abstract

Conversion of agricultural land triggers a decline in vegetable production, so it is necessary to optimize small areas of land through hydroponics. However, this system limits the high electricity costs caused by continuous pump circulation. This research aims to test the efficiency of regulating irrigation circulation on the growth of pakcoy plants in the DFT and NFT systems. The research method used a single factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six water circulation treatment levels (24, 12, and 9 hours/day) and three replications. The parameters measured include morphological growth and plant fresh weight. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and Tukey's 5% follow-up test to determine the most efficient circulation treatment that still supports optimal growth. The research results obtained did not have a significant effect from testing 24 hour non-stop water circulation with intermittent flow of 12 hours and 9 hours, both in DFT and NFT system planting installations, on the growth and production of pak choy vegetables. Electricity costs for hydroponic cultivation can be saved by 50%-60% by setting the operating time of the water pump to only 9-12 hours, compared to turning it on continuously for 24 hours

Abstract

Kombucha is a fermented beverage produced by the activity of symbiotic microorganisms in the form of lactic acid bacteria (LAB), acetic acid bacteria, and yeast that are combined in SCOBY. Variations in fermentation substrates, such as tea and fruit juice, are thought to affect the microbiological characteristics of the kombucha produced. This study aims to isolate lactic acid bacteria (LAB) from kombucha using MRSA media, characterize the morphology of the isolated bacterial colonies and cells, and determine the gram staining type of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) isolates from kombucha fermentation based on tea, mango juice, and pineapple juice at different fermentation times. The research method used was an experimental method with variations in substrate and fermentation time (day 7 and 14). LAB isolation was performed using MRS Agar medium through serial dilution to 10??, followed by macroscopic observation of colonies and gram staining for microscopic identification. The results showed that all BAL isolates from various treatments had gram-positive characteristics with rod-shaped cells. Macroscopically, the colonies showed variations in shape, color, elevation, and colony edges, which were influenced by the type of substrate, dilution level, and fermentation time. It can be concluded that differences in substrate and fermentation time did not affect the basic microscopic characteristics of BAL cells, but did influence the morphological variation of the colonies.
