Abstract

This study analyzes the government's role in collecting zakat funds in Indonesia based on Yusuf Qaradawi’s thought in his Fiqh al-Zakah. The study uses descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Government policies in collecting zakat funds need to be revitalized because the results obtained are still far from the set targets. The government must issue new policies so that the efficient collection of zakat can help the country and achieve benefits of its people. To achieve this goal, Yusuf Qardhawi offers several policies for the government, evaluating the amendments to zakat management regulations. In the book of fiqh al-zakah, Yusuf Qardhawi emphasizes that the govern-ment not only focuses on voluntary zakat but also pays attention to paying zakat physically and men-tally. The government must collect zakat from material (al-a'yan) owned by Muslims. Furthermore, the government must also deduct or collect zakat directly from the savings of the Muslim community in banks if they have reached the nisab and haul. This is done to achieve the potential target of zakat in Indonesia. In addition, the government also helps people to abort their obligations as Muslims. With this policy, Yusuf Qardhawi believes that the collection of zakat can run well and efficiently so that it has a real impact on the nation in general and Muslims.

Abstract

Technology has now become a vessel that plays a role in meeting the needs of people's lives from various fields, especially in many sectors of the real economy. Since the emergence of e-commerce, there have been many conveniences for sellers and buyers in meeting their daily needs. This convenience is the initial foundation of Maslahah Al-Mursalah. This study aims to examine e-commerce from the perspective of Maslahah Al-Mursalah. The research methodology used is descriptive qualitative. Sources of data collected are based on primary and secondary data. The research results obtained in this study are e-commerce practices from the perspective of sharia contracts have similarities with As-salam practices. Through this e-commerce, many benefits can be obtained. So it can be seen that muamalah activities, such as buying and selling bai' as-salam contained in e-commerce practices, are a type of maslahah (convenience/providing benefits) at the level of maslahah hajiyyat.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the E-wallet business from the perspective of Islamic Business Ethics. The reality in E-wallet transactions still raises pros and cons in terms of its validity according to the Islamic framework. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method and a phenomenological approach. The tendency of people in the industrial era 4.0 to use digital-based application services requires proper literacy for short and long term goals. The results of this study indicate that various types of E-wallet applications, one of which is Go-Pay, allegedly still contain things that are contrary to Islamic Business Ethics. This can be seen, among other things, in the provision of special discounts or free shipping for Go-Pay application users, as well as the deposition of user balances in conventional banks (ribawi banks). Contemporary scholars who argue that this transaction is permissible argue because the transaction uses a wadi'ah contract and is in the framework of paying ujrah in advance. Whereas the scholars who forbid the transaction argue that the transaction contract is qardh (debt receivable) so that if it brings out benefits in it then it is included in usury. In implementing Islamic business ethics in e-wallet cases, e-wallet users must pay attention to the validity of the contract according to Islam and the purpose of the transaction according to maslahah. As for e-wallet suppliers, they must prioritize aspects of transaction legitimacy, product halalness, honesty, responsibility and trustworthiness.

Abstract

Economic Welfare is a fundamental thing that is needed by humans to be able to live and develop, including by Muslim villagers in Papua. This study aims to analyze Community Empowerment Based on Islamic Economics to Develop an Autonomous Muslim Village at the Baliem Valley of Papua. This study uses qualitative data with a naturalistic approach to natural objects that develop as they are, are not manipulated and research does not affect the dynamics of these objects. The data sought is related to the description of the utilization of village potential in realizing an independent village based on an Islamic economy and the efforts made by several Islamic institutions in the Baliem Valley, Papua. The results of the research show that in order to become an independent village and the people live better, what needs to be done is not only structuring aspects of village governance, but also matters relating to its regional aspects, life arrangements and customs, village potential, readiness of social institutions, village politics and economy.

Abstract

Industrialization is expected to bring positive impacts for the indigenous people in the form of the emergence of social change. The occurred social change is expected to present sufficient room availability, especially on social income, employment opportunity, and economy. Industrialization consequences lead to spatial dispersion problems, which the policymakers do not expect. The impacts are the emergence of the new social class structure change, the high urbanization flow, life necessity fulfillment competition, and the emerging social gap. This study is expected to discover and develop a spatial dispersion model to focus on the three cities in the industrialization process in terms of income, economy, and employment opportunities. To see the compatibility among the three spatial dispersion indicators (income distribution, employment opportunity, and economy) compared to industrialization, the researchers applied Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach to test the hypotheses and analyze the empirical data retrieved through the covariance matrices. The research findings showed the correlation among the three variables by analyzing the retrieved CR values and the probabilities. It can be concluded that income distribution, employment opportunities, and the economy significantly influenced industrialization in Bunder Village, Pademawu Sub-district, Pamekasan Regency. Future research should cover other variables or areas to broaden the insight into how these variables impact industrialization.

Abstract

The economic disparity caused by the accumulation of wealth in the hands of a group of people can lead to destructive attitudes within a society. Therefore, distribution plays an important role in addressing economic inequality in society. As stated in verse 7 of QS. Al-Hashr, wealth should not circulate only among the rich, as this widens the gap between the rich and poor. Hence, the objective of this research is to analyze the equal distribution of wealth through the instrument of waqf (cash endowment). This is a qualitative study that employs a literature review method, using references from related journals, data from BPS, and some relevant links. The method of interpretation used is maudhu’i interpretation, while hermeneutics is used to understand the meaning of each word contained in the verses being studied. The results of this research indicate that the application of one of the distribution instruments taught by Islam, namely waqf, particularly in the form of cash endowment, is beginning to show results. One example is the presence of Micro Waqf Bank which has been able to improve economic welfare through small and micro businesses. The business model of Bank Wakaf Mikro in eradicating poverty can be summarized in several points, namely: (1) providing financing and mentoring (2) non-deposit taking (3) group-based (4) low-profit sharing, equivalent to 3% (5) without collateral.

Abstract

This research aims to know the readiness of implementation of PSAK 112 on Bangun Nurani Bangsa Waqf Foundation. The methods used in this research is qualitative method and also with phenomenology approach and paradigm interpretive. The research result show that the Bangun Nurani Bangsa Waqf Foundation is not ready to implement PSAK 112. Bangun Nurani Bangsa Waqf Foundation needs to make adjustments to some components of the financial statements. However, the constraints of lack of human resources and the lack of human resources for the financial sector need to be addressed by Bangun Nurani Bangsa Waqf Foundation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of factors that influence the financial sustainability ratio (FSR) of Sharia Rural Banks (BPRS) on the island of Java in 2013-2018. The variables used in this study are financial sustainability ratio (FSR), non-performing financing (NPF), return on assets (ROA), financing debt ratio (FDR), operational expenses and capital adequacy ratio (BOPO) and capital adequacy ratio (CAR). The samples selected in this study were 23 BPRS most complete out 91 BPRS on the island of Java with a range of research from 2013 to 2018, where the samples were published by the annual financial statements at Bank Indonesia (BI) or at the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Analysis of the data used is panel data regression with the Fixed Effect method using the eviews 9 program tool. In the test results that the CAR variable partially has a significant positive effect on the Financial Sustainability Ratio (FSR) while the BOPO variable partially has a significant negative effect on the Financial Sustainability Ratio (FSR). Based on the results of the BPRS Amanah Sejahtera has the highest FSR value of 6,647.5167, while the lowest FSR value is the Attaqwa SRB of 138,5008.

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to examine the variables that can affect the performance of Islamic Commercial Banks. Banks are required to choose management plans that can minimize the required costs and maximize the generated profits. The variables under consideration are foreign ownership, changes in the exchange rate of the Indonesian Rupiah against the US Dollar, and corporate zakat expenditure, which will be tested for their impact on the level of profitability (ROA) and efficiency (BOPO) of Indonesian Islamic Commercial Banks. This study uses panel secondary data and a purposive sampling method, which includes eleven Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia from 2011 to 2014. The analysis method used is multiple linear regression. The results of this study conclude that the research model simultaneously affects the ROA and BOPO of the bank. Partially, foreign ownership has a negative impact on the ROA and BOPO of the bank. Changes in the appreciation/depreciation of the Rupiah-US Dollar have a negative impact on the ROA of the bank but a positive impact on the BOPO of the bank. In addition, corporate zakat expenditure has a positive impact on the ROA of the bank, but it has no effect on the BOPO of the bank.

Abstract

IntroductionHalal tourism has become one of the trends in the tourism industry, including in Indonesia. However, the research on character education-based halal tourism is still limited in number. ObjectivesThis study aims to analyze the impact of the 9P's of the Marketing Mix strategy on purchasing decisions at PT Gaido Travel & Tours, Kudus Branch, a provider of character education-based halal tourism services. MethodThis quantitative study uses convenience sampling to collect data from of 100 prospective customers who expressed interest in PT Gaido Travel & Tours, Kudus Branch, services. The questionnaire utilized a five-point Likert scale, ranging from 1 to 5, to capture participants' perceptions and opinions related to the research variables. ResultsThe result shows that all the variables ie. product, price, promotion, place, physical evidence, people, processes, productivity, and priority, positively influence purchasing decisions both individually and simultanously. Furthermore, the model in this study can explain approximately 60.6% of the variation in purchasing decision of character education-based halal tourism services. ImplicationsThe company to uphold exemplary customer service and continuously enhance the execution of the 9P's of Marketing Mix strategy. This entails fostering a culture where employees are attentive to customer needs and refining the price strategy by incorporating enticing features that aligns with industry standards.Originality/NoveltyThis study provides insights on how 9Ps of the Marketing Mix strategy can be implemented for a character education-based halal tourism services provider.
