Abstract

In the industrial world, good working environment conditions are a must that must be obtained by every worker. Special attention needs to be paid to working conditions including work postures as they relate to occupational health and safety. The problem that exists at Indomaret Kemang Pratama Raya is that there are complaints experienced by workers related to work postures in loading and unloading activities that can affect other work activities. The research method used NBM (Nordic Body Map), RULA (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment), and REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assessment). This study aims to determine the complaints experienced by workers and the risks associated with work postures in loading and unloading activities and provide suggestions for improvements that need to be made to improve the work postures of workers. The number of samples in this study was 5 employees. Based on the results obtained from 5 employees that the spell results are 18 where the number indicates a high risk at work, the RULA results are 10 and REBA 11, and the results of Rula and Reba also show the same results as the spell, meaning a large number of risks. With these problems, it can be concluded that the method used in the study can be used to provide suggestions for improvements in the form of trolleys that can help employees and reduce the level of risk that exists.

Abstract

Disasters are a series of events that threaten and disrupt people's lives and livelihoods caused by both natural and non-natural and human factors, resulting in human casualties, environmental damage, property losses and psychological impacts. From the losses caused, alertness is needed in order to reduce the side effects that will occur. The social service is one of the government institutions that has an important role in being involved in the distribution of social assistance needed by disaster-affected communities. This role is also a form of alertness carried out by the Social Service in the implementation of disaster response. South Sulawesi Province is one of the large provinces with a high level of fire potential. This study examines the role and efforts of the social services of the South Sulawesi province in disaster response to overcome problems that occur in disaster-affected communities, for example by providing logistical assistance in the form of fulfilling needs that are lacking such as fast food, temporary tents, and the needs of women and children. This study was studied using descriptive qualitative research methods in its preparation in producing conclusions.

Abstract

The fundamental problem with the implementation of performance appraisal in the old regulation, namely Government Regulation No. 46 of 2011, is the gap between employee performance and organizational performance. This study aims to analyze how the civil servant performance management system through Government Regulation No. 30 of 2019 can overcome the performance gap as occurred in Government Regulation No. 46 of 2011. The analysis is carried out using the concept of team flow and the Management by Objectives process in the Implementation of the Civil Servant Performance Management System. The research used a mixed method with concurrent mixed methods. The sample for quantitative analysis was taken as many as 106 employees of Regional Office VIII of the Civil Service Agency. The results of simple regression testing prove that team flow prerequisites affect and contribute positively to team flow characteristics with correlation and determination coefficients of 0.461 and 0.667, respectively. The first multiple regression test results show that one of the team flow prerequisite indicators, namely the level of security, has a significant effect and has the largest contribution to team flow characteristics with correlation and determination coefficients of 2.036 and 0.846, respectively. Based on the research results, this study recommends that in order for the gap not to be repeated, it is necessary to maximize the role of implementing Management by Objectives.

Abstract

Traffic accidents on the highway have resulted in material and non-material losses. Traffic accidents also have an impact on increasing poverty due to maintenance costs, lost productivity, stress and prolonged suffering. The rapid growth in motor vehicle ownership in recent years, combined with the relatively young age of the population and the diversity of vehicle types, have resulted in a worsening of the accident problem. On a micro level, this is only seen as something that does not have a very significant impact and only becomes a problem for those experiencing it and their families. However, if similar cases are accumulated on a national scale, this certainly needs attention because it has a significant impact on the country. This research is a qualitative research. The data collection method used is by using a literature review.

Abstract

This experimental study was conducted to determine whether there is an effect of self-management on academic procrastination. This study uses a true experimental research design with the type of Solomon Four Group Design. Participants in this study were 60 university students in Surabaya who were given a pretest to determine whether these students had a high level of procrastination. The measuring instrument used in this study is the Tuckman Procrastonation Scale (TPS). The results of the pretest showed that 40 students had a high level of procrastination, then the 40 students were randomly assigned (random assignment) into two groups. There were 20 students in the control group and 20 students in the experimental group. In accordance with the type of research used, each group was divided into four groups and received different treatment. The first and third experimental groups will receive group counseling using self-management techniques and will be given a pretest and posttest, while the second and fourth experimental groups will only receive counseling using self-management and pretest techniques. The first and third control groups will receive a pretest and posttest, while the second and fourth control groups will not receive treatment and will only receive a posttest. The results of this study indicate that the null hypothesis of this study is accepted, that is, there is no influence between self-management techniques and academic procrastination.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder, characterized by high levels of glucose in the blood (hyperglycemia) caused by decreased insulin secretion. One way to treat diabetes mellitus is to reduce postprandial glucose levels, which is to slow down glucose absorption through the inhibition of the alpha amylase enzyme. Alpha amylase inhibitors are compounds that can inhibit the breakdown of carbohydrates into glucose by the enzyme alpha amylase. One of the plants that have a hyperglycemic effect is red binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis). This study aimed to determine the inhibitory activity of the alpha amylase enzyme by ethanol extract and n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and ethanol-water fractions from the leaves of red binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) in vitro with a standard inhibitor of acarbose as a comparison. Acarbose can delay the hydrolysis of carbohydrates and disaccharides, absorption of sugar and inhibit the metabolism of sucrose into glucose and fructose. From the results of the tests that have been carried out, it is known that the leaves of red binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) contain secondary metabolites including flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and steroids/triterpenoids. Meanwhile, the results of the alpha amylase inhibition test by ethanol extract and fractions obtained IC50 values of 113.926 mg/mL, 159.042 mg/mL, 23,609 mg/mL, and 31.704 mg/mL. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the ethyl acetate fraction of red binahong leaves (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) at a concentration of 200 ppm had the highest activity in inhibiting the alpha amylase enzyme with a percentage of inhibition of 84.650% and IC50 of 23.609 mg/mL.

This study examines the contestation of food security discourses between actors in farming families in North Tanimbar District, Tanimbar Islands Regency. This research was conducted in North Tanimbar District, Tanimbar Islands Regency, Maluku Province in January-February 2022. This study used a qualitative research design using a constructivist paradigm. The results showed that there are three main actors in the discourse of food security, namely the government, community, and business actors. Each actor seeks to practice their discourse on farming families. When practicing discourse, there is a discourse interaction between actors that is synergistic. However, the most dominant discourse practiced by families is the community discourse, while the government discourse is a compliment and the business actors' discourse is a driver. The novelty of the research results of the contestation of family food security discourses found at the study site is the rationality and synergy efforts of family farmers in meeting family food needs.
