Abstract

One of the pulp processing industries in North Sumatra has the basic raw material of the eucalyptus tree. Based on observations in the fiber line department in 2020, there is a difference between the period of required capacity and the period of existing capacity, where the required capacity is greater than the existing capacity. This is because the processing time is quite long and the company's expenditure target is too high. Analysis of existing capacity will be carried out against the required capacity using the RCCP (Rough Cut Capacity Planning) method. The maximum effective output obtained by the company based on the company's current capacity is 139,429 tons and after adding working days the maximum effective output that the company can produce is 186,286 tons. Where after increasing working days the capacity of the company increases. The solution to achieve the capacity required by the company is to work overtime, subcontract with other companies, adjust the production plan by reducing the production target according to the existing capacity period, carry out scheduled machine maintenance, and in the long run, replace the machine during washing. and workstations for refining, bleaching and pulping machines.

Abstract

In 2021, the quality of kernels in one of the palm oil processing industries in Riau was found to exceed the set standard limit. This is of course a problem that can affect the quality of the product. So kernel quality control will be carried out using the DMAIC method (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). From the results of the X water content control chart above, it can be concluded that the data is said to be abnormal because some of it exceeds the UCL. While in the control map R there is data that exceeds the control limit or is uncontrolled. This is because the difference in sample values has such a large distance. From the results of the X temperature control chart above, it can be concluded that the data is said to be abnormal because the data exceeds the LCL or UCL. While in the R control map there is data that exceeds the control limit or is uncontrolled. This is because the difference in sample values has such a large distance. The cause of the high level of impurities in the core. The use of Pareto diagrams to determine the cause of non-compliance with quality standards in kernels is due to the highest/dominant impurity content. The causes of non-compliance with kernel quality standards are due to machine and human factors such as damage to claybath and hydrocyclone machines and lack of SOPs being followed.

Abstract

Crude Palm Oil (CPO) is a vegetable oil extracted from the mesocarp or flesh of the oil palm fruit after several processes of oil and kernel separation. One of the key steps in CPO processing is the oil purification stage at the clarification station, where an essential piece of equipment used is the Oil Purifier. During this stage, the purification process is crucial because if the oil still contains impurities or a high amount of water, it can degrade the quality of the oil. Therefore, the Oil Purifier must be carefully managed in the CPO processing because this process involves separating oil, water, and impurities before the oil is pumped to the vacuum dryer. If the purifier does not function properly, it can negatively affect the quality of the oil produced. Hence, a reassessment of the Oil Purifier in the Clarification Unit is necessary. The procedure for analyzing the samples involves assessing the moisture and impurity content in AOP (After Oil Purifier) and BOP (Before Oil Purifier) samples. The results indicate that the feed temperature significantly affects the moisture content in the Oil Purifier's output. Additionally, the feed flow rate also has a substantial impact on the moisture content in the Oil Purifier's output, where the moisture content of the oil from the purifier is related to the moisture content of the feed oil entering the purifier.

Abstract

Coffee is the center of community activity in the Gayo Highlands (DTG). Coffee industry activities from upstream to downstream are the economic center of the DTG community. Therefore, consistent productivity and quality must continue to be considered, maintained and improved so that the selling power of coffee from DTG remains good and is expected to remain good on an ongoing basis. Increasing coffee productivity must also be in line with local wisdom, climate change and environmental sustainability. This study aims to examine the main causes that influence the productivity and marketability of Gayo coffee in line with local wisdom, climate change and environmental sustainability. Furthermore, this research tries to provide an action plan that is in line with the problems that have been identified. The results of the literature review concluded that there are structured problems in increasing coffee productivity related to the age of coffee plants, farmers' understanding, conditions of planting areas, modernization of equipment and quality measurement methods.

One of the things that support the smooth operation of a company is the readiness of production machines to carry out their duties. Machines are production tools formed from a series of complex systems, so they require unique and adequate maintenance planning and management. One of the industries that produce steel and wire has problems with maintenance management and supervision of its machines, such as wire mesh. machine based on the results of observation, wire machine mesh is a machine that has a high usage time. In addition, part damage is found on wire mesh machines in large quantities. So the time for Preventive Maintenance and Reliability of the Wire Mesh Machine will be determined as an improvement effort using the Nomograph method. Results above, it can be concluded that the Wire Mesh 01 machine must undergo extensive maintenance, the optimal preventive maintenance value obtained is 9.6 hours, the reliability value using periodic maintenance every 9.6 hours is 85%.
