Abstract

Background: The transmission of the COVID-19 outbreak caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus has spread widely and worldwide, resulting in a pandemic status. Countries are making various efforts to break the chain of the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak, one of which is by adopting a lockdown and self-quarantine policy. Various policies during the pandemic had an impact on the psychological condition of the community, including anxiety that could affect the level of learning concentration. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between anxiety and the level of learning concentration in the era of COVID-19 pandemic on class 2020 students of the YARSI University Faculty of Medicine and its review from an Islamic perspective.Method: This study uses an analytical observational method with a cross-sectional approach. The method that was used to determine the sample in this study is random sampling method with a total sample of 149 respondents. Data collected by distributing questionnaires via google form and data analysis using Spearman Rank correlation test. Results: The results showed that the level of anxiety was mostly experienced in mild anxiety, which is 101 respondents and the learning concentration level was mostly in the moderate category, which is 97 respondents. Based on the statistical test, the p-value or p = 0.001 and the correlation value = -0.261.Conclusion: There is a low correlation between anxiety and the level of learning concentration in the era of COVID-19 pandemic among class 2020 students of YARSI University Faculty of Medicine.

Abstract

Skin infection is one of the most common diseases in Indonesia. The most common skin and soft tissue infections caused by pyogenic bacteria are S. aureus and group A hemolytic Streptococcus, including S. pyogenes (Perdoski, 2017). One of the bacteria that often causes skin infections is Staphylococcus aureus. One of the plants that has long been believed to have good antibacterial activity against bacteria is garlic (Allium sativum) (Duman, 2008). This study used Kirby Bauer diffusion using NA and MHA media. Garlic extract has various concentrations of 20%, 25% and 30% with clindamycin as a positive control and distilled water as a negative control. The results of this study stated that no inhibition zone was formed, which was indicated by the absence of antibacterial activity in garlic extract on Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The conclusion is that garlic extract extracted with 99% methanol does not have the effectiveness of inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.

Abstract

Background: Poor sleep quality is often found in medical students as a result of which many are not aware of due to academic loads and daily learning activities. Poor sleep quality can cause several factors, one of which is reduced working memory function. Working memory is the system whose role is to remember things when performing complex tasks such as reasoning, understanding, and learning. This study aims to determine the relationship between sleep quality and working memory in medical students. Methods This research was a cross-sectional analytic observational approach using purposive sampling as a way of determining the sample. The sample in this study was 41 respondents who were students of the YARSI University Medical Faculty class of 2019. The instruments were the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index to measure the respondent's sleep quality and the Digit Span Test to measure the respondent's working memory level. Bivariate analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test. Results: From the results of the analysis, it was found that 26 (63.4%) respondents had poor sleep quality and 32 (78%) respondents had moderate working memory. As many as 25 (78.1%) respondents had poor sleep quality with moderate working memory. The Chi-Square test results obtained a p-value of 0.000 (0.05) which indicates a significant relationship between sleep quality and working memory. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between sleep quality and working memory in medical students. The advice that can be given is to maintain good sleep quality for optimal memory performance.

Abstract

Enterobius vermicularis known as pinworms is an intestinal parasite that is disturbing and is still a public health problem worldwide, especially in children aged 6-10 years. Migration of female worms in the perianal area, especially at night, can disrupt children's sleep hours, and affect health in general. This study aims to see the correlation of clean and healthy lifestyle behavior (PHBS) in children with the presence of E. vermicularis in pre-school and elementary school age children. The method used is quantitative with a cross sectional approach. Examination results of 59 anal swab samples, one of which was positive for enterobiasis (1.7%). Filling in the child's PHBS behavior questionnaire, obtained from parental information and researchers' observations. Enteribiasis positive samples were found in pre-school children with poor PHBS behavior. Statistical tests showed that there was a significant correlation (p 0.05) in the incidence of enterobiasis with poor PHBS behavior in children.

Abstract

COVID-19 is caused by acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) of the betacoronavirus genus. Immune dysregulation in hypertensive patients makes cases more susceptible to infection with SARS-CoV-2. In addition, in humans, ACE2 is widely expressed in many organs, including heart, kidney, liver, intestine, and pulmonary alveolar epithelial cells. However, that 83% of cells expressing ACE2 are found alveolar cells and the large lung surface area makes SARS-CoV-2 highly susceptible to inhaled viruses. Therefore, it is plausible that SARS-CoV-2 is more likely to damage the lung tissue of hypertensive patients, leading to an increase in the number of severe. The main imaging modality of choice is a chest X-ray, in patients with COVID-19, features such as ground-glass opacification, infiltrates, peribronchial thickening, focal consolidation, pleural effusion, and atelectasis can be found. Chest X-ray is less sensitive than CT scan, because about 40% of cases do not find abnormalities on chest X-ray. The type of research method used is descriptive observational. The type of data used in this study is quantitative data with secondary data as the source of data used. The population in the study used was patients diagnosed with COVID-19 at the Jakarta Hospital for the March - December 2020 period. From this study, it was found that the largest number of COVID-19 patients with hypertension had pneumonia as many as 51 patients (54.8%). In this analysis, a P value of 0.873 means P 0.05 which indicates that there is no relationship between blood pressure and the incidence of pneumonia in COVID-19            patients.
