Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of income gap between genders in the provinces on the island of Java and also to determine the factors that affect the income of male and female workers. The data used in this study is the 2020 national labor force data (SAKERNAS). The methods used are robust regression and blinder-oaxaca decomposition. The results of this study found that the factors age, education, employment sector, and technology have a significant positive effect on the income of male and female workers. Meanwhile, the pre-employment card variable has a negative effect on male income but no effect on female income. The marital status variable has a significant positive effect on male income but has no effect on female income. The level of income gap between genders on the island of Java if sorted from the province that has the highest level of income gap is the province of East Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, West Java, Banten, and DKI Jakarta. The income of female workers has a lower income than the income of male workers. The factor that contributes most to the income gap between genders is the unexplained factor or discrimination rather than the explained factor.

Abstract

The industrial sector has become a leading sector and contributes greatly to the formation of GRDP in East Java. However, the contribution is still not optimal due to other factors that hinder the production process in each industry. One form of externality that can encourage regional growth is the agglomeration economy. This study aims to determine the role of economic agglomeration on tchnical efficiency in the manufacturing industry in East Java. The stochastic frontier analysis method is used to determine the technicala efficiency in East Java. The result showed that the technical efficiency of manufacturing industry companies in East Java in 2010-2014 was not efficient. The value of technical efficiency of the industry from 2010-2014 the results show fluctuations. These findings show that the TE value is not efficient, so the recommendation given is the need to increase the size of the company to encourage higher efficiency.

Abstract

The issue of injustice in the treatment of women workers is caused by social norms regarding the division of gender roles. This has an impact on the dominance of women workers in the informal sector. The purpose of this study is to determine the condition of women workers and the factors that influence women's participation in the informal sector. The method used is binary logistic regression, using data from the Indonesian Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) in 2020. The results show that there is a significant influence of the variables of education, marital status, region of residence, and wages on women's participation in the informal sector. Meanwhile, the internet and pre-employment card variables do not show a significant effect. The variables of education and wages have a negative effect, while the variables of marital status and region of residence have a positive effect.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of independent variables, namely the human development index, and the open unemployment rate on the dependent variable, namely the number of poor people in East Java Province in 2014-2022. This research uses a quantitative approach sourced from secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics of East Java Province. The analysis method used is multiple linear regression. Abstract

Carang Sewu Lake in Laban Village, Menganti District, Gresik Regency is a potential place to be used as local tourism which has a natural landscape that is still maintained. However, it is known that the lake is still full of weeds and plastic waste, so the development of this lake aims to overcome this problem by building photo spots made of plastic waste. The development of Telaga Carang Sewu was carried out in four stages, namely, observation, licensing, making photo spot media, and program implementation. This service aims to develop Telaga Carang Sewu tourism in Laban Village more attractive without changing its original function. This local tourism development is expected to attract many tourists from inside and outside and with this it can help restore the economy of local residents.

Abstract

Gen-Z is a generation that is currently in the productive age category and will enter the job market. However, the current problem is that the availability of job opportunities in Indonesia is smaller compared to the existing workforce. This research aims to determine the factors that influence Gen-Z work participation in terms of demographics and non-demographics. The method used in this research uses descriptive and inferential analysis, namely multinomial logistics. The research results show that all independent variables have a significant effect on the dependent variable where Gen-Z who are highly educated, have received training, are male and live in urban areas will tend to work in the formal sector, informal sector jobs. tend to be in rural areas and are dominated by men, while female unemployment still dominates. The percentage of Gen-Z absorbed into the job market is still very low, so more fundamental attention is needed regarding the young workforce.
