Abstract

Learning activities are one of the factors that can improve student learning outcomes. However, some students have low learning activity. The aim of the research is toincrease the biology learning activities of class XI IPA3 students at SMA Negeri 5Kendari. This research was carried out in the second semester of the 2013–2014academic year. This type of research is classroom action research (PTK) with threelearning cycles. Each cycle goes through four stages, namely: (1) planning; (2)implementation of actions; (3) observation and evaluation; and (4) reflection. The datasource for this research is students who were measured using learning outcomes testsfor cycles I, II, and III. The data obtained was analyzed using descriptive analysis. Thebiology learning activities of Class 97% Based on the research results, it was concludedthat the probing-prompting learning technique could increase the biology learningactivities of class XI IPA3 students at SMA Negeri 5 Kendari. Keywords: Probing-Prompting Technique , Learning Activities

Abstract

Education is not only measured by theoretical knowledge, but also by practical abilities and interpersonal skills. The low level of student learning activity reflects a mismatch between conventional teaching methods and students' actual needs in developing competencies. This study aims to increase student learning activities in biology class XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 5 Kendari by applying the Jigsaw cooperative learning model. This research was conducted in the second semester of the 2013/2014 academic year. The type of research used is classroom action research (PTK) Kemmis and Taggart with three learning cycles. Each cycle goes through four stages: (1) planning; (2) carrying out actions; (3) observation and (4) reflection. The source of this research data is the measurement of observation sheets in Cycle I, Cycle II, and Cycle III. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis. From the observations, it was obtained that student learning activities in cycle I with an average student learning activity in cycle I was 3.31 with a percentage of 82.74%, in cycle II it was 3.48 with a percentage of 86.90%, in cycle III with 3.68 with a percentage of 91.96%. It can be concluded that the application of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model can increase student learning activities in biology class XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 5 Kendari Keywords: Learning Activities, Jigsaw

Abstract

Online learning was carried out during the Covid 19 pandemic. During online learning, many students were less active. This research aims to find out how interested students are in WhatsApp-based online learning in science subjects. The type of research used is quantitative descriptive research. The number of samples used in this research was 42 class VIII students at MTs Al-Hidayah Tosiba taken using a purposive sampling technique. The instrument used in this research was a questionnaire with a total of 20 statement items. Student interest in learning can be seen from 4 indicators, namely: feelings of happiness, student interest, student attention and student involvement. The results of this research show that the indicator of feelings of happiness is 54.76% in the "moderate" category. The interest indicator is 45.24% in the "very low" category. The attention indicator is 35.71% in the "high" category. The engagement indicator is 45.24% in the "high" category. Overall, the average of the questionnaire data obtained was 53.85 with the highest percentage of 33.33% being in the "medium" category. Based on the results of this analysis, it can be concluded that students' interest in learning in WhatsApp-based online learning is moderate. Keywords: Interest in Learning, Science, Online Learning
