Abstract

The purpose of prediction is to become decision makers and make policies. Understanding the uncertainties and risks that may arise can be considered when making plans. By making these predictions, planners and decision makers will be able to consider other alternatives, so they can take advantage of student graduation data. The algorithm that will be used is the Naive Bayes Classifier Algorithm which is a simple probability classification method based on the application of Bayes' theorem with the assumption that explanatory variables are independent, clues and supporting data in predicting student graduation, namely student behavior, school exams, grades. In practice, the application of the Naive Bayes method applies data train to produce the probability of each criterion for different classes, so that the probability value of these criteria can be optimized to determine predictions of student graduation quickly and efficiently based on the classification carried out using the Naive Bayes method, then from the results of testing with the Naive Bayes method the results obtained an accuracy value of 76 .25%, so this result has very good accuracy. That way this method can be applied in predicting student graduation.

Abstract

Japan is known as a developed country that has advanced technology, and is a civilized country, so it is not uncommon for Indonesian people to want to become Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI) in Japan because of the large amount of royalty they are given. However, in this way, it is necessary to make adjustments made by TKI in communicating in Japan or scientifically it is usually called intercultural communication. This study aims to determine the competence of intercultural communication carried out by TKI in Japan in dealing with culture shock. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research type, data analysis techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques are carried out through data reduction and drawing conclusions. This research was conducted through interviews with Indonesian migrant workers in Japan. The results showed that Indonesian migrant workers were very interested in working in Japan because they were paid high wages. Japan is known as a country that has good manners, culture shock that occurs, namely difficulties in language and seasons. With so TKI continue to try to adapt. In addition, Indonesian TKI also take a deep self-approach to their surroundings and try to join the new environment.

Abstract

Community service aims to improve and develop the skills of teachers in teaching using interesting learning media based on today's technology. The learning media that will be carried out by PPLSP UPI students at the Purwakarta campus is with training in making flashcard learning media for the five senses using Canva and Vocaroo. This training and assistance is in the form of workshop activities, this service is carried out at Tunas Harapan Kindergarten which is attended by 5 teachers. The implementation activities were carried out through various stages: Discussions with the principal of the TK Tunas Harapan Kindergarten, requests for permits, preparation of materials, and carrying out training and practice. The results of this training activity are that teachers are expected to be even more creative in carrying out technology-based learning activities. And teachers can provide knowledge that students have given to teachers who are not familiar with technology-based learning media.

Abstract

Agung Vulcano is a type of strato volcano located in the Province of Bali. The eruption of Agung vulcano recorded on 25 November 2017 is a major hazard for people living around the mountain. The eruption occurred due to increased seismic activity in the body of Mount Agung. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor the activity of Agung vulcano. The method used in this study is an analysis of ambient noise seismic data to determine the increase in activity before and during the eruption of Mount Agung. Variation of apparent speed as a result of the correlation of ambient noise seismic signals recorded on two seismic sensors. That can reflect changes in pressure and elasticity of the medium by assuming that the subsurface structure is isotropically homogeneous and the physical properties of the rocks are considered to be the same, especially in the medium near the surface of the body of Agung vulcano. The pattern of apparent velocity variation in the increase in Mount Agung activity decreased 15-100 days before the eruption and experienced a continuous decrease in value during the eruption process in November 2017 - January 2018.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of thinking maps in the problem based learning (PBL) learning model on students' scientific literacy competencies. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with a pretest posttest control group design. The sampling technique for the experimental and control classes used random cluster sampling. The subjects of this study were 68 students of SMAN 1 Kota Bima which were divided into 2 classes, namely 34 students as the experimental class and 34 other students as the control class. Students in the experimental class were taught using the PBL learning model assisted by thinking maps, while students in the control class were taught using the PBL learning model. This study used a competency scientific literacy test instrument in the form of 13 items with a reliability of 0.489. Research data were analyzed by one tail t test. The results of the scientific literacy competency t test of students obtained tcount = 2.89 > 2 = ttable (0.05; 66), indicating that the scientific literacy competence of students who learn by using thinking maps in the PBL learning model is higher than students who study with the PBL learning model.
