Abstract

Abstract

The economic development and population rapid growth has led to the uncontrolled increase of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) generations in West Java since around half of the world’s waste production is MSW from the residential, commercial, and service sectors. Currently, the government implements some actions of MSW management, such as composting programs, recycling programs, and MSW banks. Although the programs run well they can only reduce 18% of MSW every day. Thus, the government is still facing MSW problems while landfill, as the most common waste disposal practice, is considered unsustainable. Now the government is trying to shift its mind that sound waste management should generate economic, social & environmental value while offering great opportunities to the private sector for revenue-making business instead of a cost center. The purpose of this study is to develop a circulating economic business model on the recycling and recovery system of MSW using green technology to create alternative sustainable products for social development business as a circulating economy. This is applied research that uses the qualitative analysis method to get a zero household waste management model based on secondary data (from the period of 2019-2022) from the pilot project at the Nambo site, Cirebon plant, and Cibiru site. The result of the study is beneficial for the government in supporting its policies to recycle & recover MSW. Moreover, the integrated business process of MSW will encourage the private sector to invest in sustainable waste management businesses.

Abstract

This article analyses the recent year’s port and military base competitions and rivalries between international, regional and local powers in the Red Sea and its implication on peace and security of Horn of Africa the region. The super power global ambitions, military capability, political and economic influence made the Horn of Africa a pivotal role of geopolitics in shaping the security and economic trajectory. In this context, Security developments in the Horn are being integrated into geopolitical and geo-economics agendas that stretch far beyond the immediate region. On the other hand, the uptick engagement by external actors, and their attendant interests, alliances and agendas offers opportunities for development and integration, but it also poses considerable risks since horn of Africa region are vulnerable to intra- and interstate conflict. Further it raises the prospect of proxy struggles and growing geopolitical interest and tensions which is an obstacle to conflict resolutions lasting peace in the region. Thus the articles argue Rather than seeking to undermine one another, the regimes of the Horn have increasingly tended to support one another. In addition this paper recommends regional institutions such as IGAD need to reconsider dynamics within the Red Sea in line with the aim of building confidence among actors in order to advance common economic and security interests, as well as to ensure the future development of the shared interest.

Abstract

According to a study published in the International Journal of Cardiology titled "Heart failure across Asia: Same healthcare burden but differences in organization of care," the mortality rate due to heart failure in Indonesia is relatively high. The research findings indicate that approximately 5% of the total population in Indonesia suffers from heart failure. Heart disease is a condition that occurs when the heart experiences disruptions, either due to infections or congenital abnormalities. It is important to pay attention to heart disease in order to reduce the mortality rate. However, there are several inaccuracies in identifying heart disease, and it is necessary to perform calculations using a predictive approach utilizing data mining techniques. One of the data mining methods used is the Naïve Bayes (NB) algorithm, which serves as a classification technique. Additionally, before performing the classification, issues with the data content are often encountered, such as the presence of missing values. This problem can interfere with the classification process; therefore, a special technique called pre-processing is needed to remove missing values. By employing this technique, it can support obtaining accurate prediction results. Furthermore, to support the classification, this study applies feature selection using the Backward Elimination (BE) method to enhance accuracy. In this study, through the implementation of data pre-processing techniques and feature selection, the accuracy rate was successfully improved to 98.31%.
