Abstract

Critical land has caused concern among many stakeholders because it can have serious impacts. This has become the main agenda in sustainable development carried out by development actors. One form of revitalization is carried out by improving soil structure by planting coffee which is initiated through collaboration between institutions and involving the local community. The study in this article uses a narrative review. The approach used is done by reviewing each article that develops from time to time and is considered possible and relevant as the basis for analysis. The data analysis used is a simplified approach. The steps taken in the simplified approach analysis are summarizing each piece of literature. Critical appraisal is carried out simultaneously to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the literature and to see the relationship between one literature and another. This study found that development actors consisting of facilitators, mediators, other change agents, and beneficiaries, both between the government and the community or the private sector and the community, have challenges as well as decisive roles in building the face of development from various interest perspectives. Capacity building either through education, training, or improving the communication channels used determines the effectiveness of cooperation in the perspective of development communication that affects the success of development programs.

Abstract

Introduction: Tambi Village is one of the villages in Kejajar District which has a high disaster vulnerability index, high landslide vulnerability, high disaster capacity index, and high landslide capacity with a relatively wide area (BPBD Wonosobo, 2018). Starting from concern about such conditions, one of the residents of Tambi Village moved to innovate in agriculture by planting coffee plants on barren land. Most community plants grow horticultural crops that cannot store water and cannot grow properly with the presence of protective plants in the vicinity, so they are prone to landslides during the rainy season. The main purpose of coffee cultivation is to preserve nature and increase the welfare of the community with the coffee yield. The purpose of the study: to determine the leadership/role of Mr. Romadhon as a local actor in developing and empowering the Tambi Village community. Methods: descriptive research with interviews and literature study conducted in Tambi Village, by determining the information provider by purposive or judgmental sampling. Research time 15 June 2022. Data collection by interview, observation, and documentation. Results: the role of local actors in community empowerment is very significant and their roles: (1) Initiate (initiator), (2) Provide motivation (motivator), (3) Coordinate (coordinator), (4) Make plans (planner), (5) Carry out facilitation (Facilitator), and (6) Conduct communication and relations (Communicator), (7) Provide education (Educator) and (8) As a deliberation (Negotiator). Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the perception of visitors towards the Agricultural Research and Assessment Installation (IP2TP) in Samboja, with a specific focus on visits by students from the State Polytechnic of Samarinda. IP2TP Samboja serves as a testing ground for various agricultural technological innovations developed by the Agricultural Research and Development Agency (Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan Pertanian). Additionally, it provides a learning platform for agricultural students, allowing them to engage in fieldwork activities and gain firsthand knowledge of the innovative technologies employed. A descriptive analysis method was employed, utilizing surveys to collect data. The respondents consisted of 80 randomly selected students from the State Polytechnic of Samarinda (Politeknik Pertanian / Politani) who had participated in visits to IP2TP Samboja. The findings of the study indicated that visitor perception of IP2TP Samboja was influenced by factors such as the visitors' educational background and their level of interest in specific agricultural commodities.

This effort is carried out through education related to the processing of harvested products and access to marketing as well as empowerment in social and political aspects so that they have the capability to be directly involved and actively participate in group planning and policies. Therefore, this research is focused on analyzing the participation and role of women farmers and the social capital owned by the group in encouraging the sustainability of the community empowerment program initiated by CSR PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional RU II Produksi Sungai Pakning. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach supported by data collection techniques by snowball sampling. The results of the study show that economic factors are the main reason why female members of the Maju Jaya Bersama Farmer Group join to help meet household needs. They have a significant role in managing agricultural land even though they have a double burden because they still have to work at home. Their active participation in forms, ideas, labor, and decision-making has resulted in changes in land management and management systems that are able to overcome problems within the group. The access of female members to gain knowledge is an important aspect for increasing knowledge and skills so that their role and participation in the group is increasing and sustainable.

Abstract

Climate change is a problem that must be taken seriously. Climate change is also caused by the presence of waste that continues to grow. The majority of waste sources in Indonesia come from household waste. Waste management can be carried out directly at the source by processing it through groups in the community, as is done by TPST Masa Sejati and PETRATONIK. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to explain community-based organic waste management which has an impact on climate change mitigation at PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional RU V Balikpapan. Efforts to handle waste are carried out by processing organic waste into compost using the Takakura method and bioconversion of waste through BSF. Besides being useful for reducing waste, this handling activity also provides added value to the community's income. The results of this study show that the CSR program carried out by PT Pertamina Internasional RU V Balikpapan Refinery enables the community to process organic waste in their environment (the source) into something of economic value and has implications for reducing methane gas, which is one of the greenhouse gases that is released into the atmosphere. This CSR program is able to reduce 3.3% of methane gas produced by total waste in Balikpapan City.

Abstract

Forests have an important role in human life. Forests provide direct and indirect benefits. CO2 absorption and O2 production are some of the indirect benefits for human life. As a conservation forest, Masigit Kareumbi Game Reserve (TBMK) area is very important in CO2 absorption and O2 production. The TBMK Conservation Area has a fairly high level of social pressure which was the background for the emergence of the Forest Adoption program. Caring for and protecting the highly pressured TBMK area will be important for human life as the area acts as CO2 absorption, O2 production area, water catchment area, and clean water provider for the surrounding community. Bio Farma participates in caring for and protecting TBMK forests by participating in the Forest Adoption program. Wali Pohon PT Bio Farma (Persero) has carbon stocks of 134.095 tons, a CO2 absorption value of 418.464 tons/hectare/year, and an O2 production value of 358.0.33 tons/hectare/year. If evaluated, the PT Bio Farma (Persero) Wali Pohon plot has a carbon absorption value of IDR 28,318,422 (twenty-eight million three hundred eighteen thousand four hundred and twenty-two rupiah).
