The journal is published biannually in February and August and accepts articles in Bahasa Indonesia or English.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the process of implementing history learning with nationalist values at SMA Negeri 2 Lubuk Pakam, the strategies used by teachers in integrating nationalist values, the benefits obtained by students and the obstacles teachers face when the learning process takes place. Using qualitative methods with a case study approach. The data collection technique in this research went through three stages, namely observation, interviews, and documentation to collect data. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results obtained from this research show that history teachers at SMA Negeri 2 Lubuk Pakam are always able to understand how to provide teaching that is in line with current developments and technology, so that learning gets significant results and students also get quality learning. History teachers also use various strategies that can arouse students' interest in history lessons so that the learning process runs well.  Obstacles encountered during the learning process can also be overcome well by teachers using various methods and approaches.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how Pancasila and Citizenship Education teachers strengthen the character of the national spirit in the learning process in the Pancasila and Citizenship Education subject. According to the Big Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI), the definition of character is character, psychological traits, morals or manners that distinguish a person from another, character. The research method in this research is a qualitative exploratory type. The population in the study was class X TKJ Mahad Mualimin Alwasliyah Vocational School (MMA) Uisu Medan. At the beginning of the research, they entered a class with 35 students and were designated as research samples, then conducted interviews with students, Pancasila and Citizenship Education teachers and school principals about the role of Pancasila and Citizenship Education teachers in strengthening the character of students, so as to obtain the actual results. The role of Pancasila and Citizenship Education teachers in strengthening the character of students' national spirit is very important because in learning Pancasila and Citizenship Education, Pancasila values ??are instilled

Abstract

The curriculum is an essential component of the education system, aiming to achieve national education goals. This article discusses the progress of the curriculum at Yamama Junior High School in relation to national education policies, which continue to evolve. The curriculum has adapted from the Education Unit Level Curriculum (KTSP) to the 2013 Curriculum (K-13), and then to the Independent Curriculum. These adaptations help improve the quality of education and align learning with student needs and national education goals. The method used in this study is a literature review to analyze the implementation of the existing curriculum at Yamama Junior High School, as well as the challenges and opportunities within the Indonesian educational context. Yamama Junior High School has successfully adapted to changes in the national curriculum, including the Independent Curriculum, which aims to enhance the quality of education and the relevance of learning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of implementing the Jigsaw cooperative learning model using hero image media to improve the character and learning outcomes in Social Studies (History) among Grade VIII-C students of SMP Negeri 2 Denpasar in the 2023/2024 academic year. The research focuses on enhancing students' character and academic achievement. The study employs a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method based on Arikunto's model, which includes planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 15 Grade VIII-C students. The results revealed improvements from Cycle I to Cycle II, with the number of students categorized as having "high" character increasing from 5 to 14, and students achieving the minimum passing grade (KKM) increasing from 11 to 14, with the average score rising from 78 to 82.6. The conclusion of this study is that the Jigsaw learning model based on hero image media significantly enhances students' character and learning outcomes in Social Studies (History).

Abstract

Storytelling and role-playing are learning methods capable of creating an enjoyable learning atmosphere while fostering students' skills. This study aims to analyze the implementation of storytelling and role-playing in enhancing critical, creative, communicative, and collaborative (4C) thinking skills among students at SDN 2 Beringkit Belayu. The study focuses on the effectiveness of these methods in building 4C competencies. A qualitative approach with a descriptive method was used, involving observations, interviews, and documentation of the learning process. The results indicate that storytelling facilitates imaginative conceptual understanding, while role-playing enhances students' active engagement and teamwork abilities. This study concludes that combining these two methods creates enjoyable, meaningful, and effective learning experiences in developing 4C skills. Further support is required to optimize this implementation through teacher training and adequate time allocation.

Abstract

Education is not only focused on understanding the material but also on shaping attitudes and utilizing media to preserve local culture. The importance of instilling local wisdom as a means for students to better understand and cherish their culture. This qualitative research adopts a narrative approach, involving history teachers and students from MAN 1 Mandailing Natal as informants. Data collection is carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, with data validity tested using triangulation of techniques and sources. Data analysis involves interaction analysis, encompassing data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusions. The research findings indicate that the cultivation of local wisdom by teachers primarily relates to local culture, while the implementation of local wisdom values by students has been successful, covering ethical, aesthetic, religious, and social aspects.
