Abstract

This study is entitled "Digital Orbit in Building Public Communication in Medan City During the Covid-19 Pandemic" This research is to find out and analyze: Digital Orbit in building public communication in Medan City During the Covid-19 Pandemic Period. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. In this method the researcher described how the situation in the field where the research is carried out. The research was done by using field studies with the process of collecting data through observation, and also interviews with 6 respondents. From the results of the research conducted, it is proven that what is taken is public communication theory, digital media theory, new media theory. This theory relates to the implementation and implications of what has been done by Orbit Digital in building Public Communications in the city of Medan during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research was conducted at the Bumi Jurnalis Orbit Building, Jl. Bumi Asri Complex Dormitory Medan. Informants interviewed were from academics, Orbit Digital journalists, company leaders, editor-in-chief and residents of the city of Medan. From the results of the research conducted, there were 5 main points that became the results of the research, namely strategies, forms, methods, challenges and obstacles as well as the success of Digital Orbit in building Public Communication in the city of Medan during the Covid-19 Pandemic. And how is Orbit Digital in building public communication in the city of Medan. The conclusion is Digital Orbit has developed public communication in the city of Medan during the Covid-19 period. This was stated by the opinion of the informants who considered that Orbit Digital had provided correct and educational news.

Abstract

This study aims at finding out how the marketing communication strategy used by Kiss FM Radio Medan is to increase the number of advertisers during the Covid-19 pandemic and what factors are inhibiting or supporting the advertising marketing strategy implemented by Radio Kiss FM Medan during the pandemic Covid-19 Descriptive method with a qualitative approach is applied in this research. Several informants or resource persons, who know technical and detailed information about the research problem raised by the researcher were interviewed. From this study, it was concluded that Radio Kiss FM had experienced several obstacles in terms of advertising, especially during the current pandemic, such as a decrease in the number of advertisers and a decrease in activity in the form of events. However, with the strategy and making innovations and various offers, Kiss FM Medan remains confident and survives during the current pandemic.

Abstract

Political communication among Political Party Factions in the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) of Nias Regency occurred in the acceptance of aspirations regarding infrastructure development and obstacles to solving welfare problems. In this study, the faction of Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan (PDI-P) in Nias Regency was chosen as the winning party in the 2019 general election. Qualitative or interpretive methods were used in this study. Research subjects: key informants are Deputy Chair I of the DPRD, the main informants are the Chair of the PDI-P Faction, and the supporting informants are community leaders in the Electoral District (Dapil) members of the PDI-P Faction. The findings of this study are, the PDI-P faction is open to accepting the aspirations of the community; people do not understand about policy formulation; and disruption of coordination with Regional Apparatus Organizations (ODP). The conclusion of this study shows that the Communication Pattern of Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan (PDIP) Faction occurs in a circular manner. The pattern of circular communication is reflected in the acceptance of people's aspirations to the PDI-P faction regarding development and re-submitting them to the community in the form of policy priorities. Regarding the results of the policy formulation process, not all prioritize aspirations, so that people feel dissatisfied. On the other hand, the coordination between the PDI-P faction and ODP to be involved in formally accepting aspirations is not well established.

Abstract

This study aims at determining the communication strategy used by the Department of Culture in an effort to preserve the Serampang Dua Belas Dance in Medan City and the obstacles experienced in implementing communication strategies in preserving this dance. The research subjects are Policy Stakeholders at the Culture Service, Malay Community Leaders, and the owners of the Serampang Dua Belas Dance Studio in Medan City. Data collection techniques are through research in the field using observation methods and in-depth interviews with research informants and using literature or documents that support research. Data processing used is a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of the descriptive analysis of the study indicate that the communication strategy used by the Department of Culture is not as effective as before, especially in the areas of message preparation, method use, and media use. The Department's program experienced obstacles and did not run as it should, this was because the presenced of Covid-19 made the work program of the Office constrained due to budget constraints for funding the preservation program, reduction of activities, especially dance dance training, and no competitions were held in connection with the prohibition of crowds on the grounds of health protocols, and others. Preservation methods such as the Redundancy method and the Persuasive Method in the form of approached and establishing cooperative relationships with related parties such as the executive, private parties, the press, and others had not been carried out, to strive for the Serampang Dua Belas Dance to be more existent in the eyes of the public and tourists in particular.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the number of tourist attractions that have recently attracted the public, both local people and immigrants. Marketing communication strategy is an effort made in order to attract interest, provide awareness, or convey to the public about the existence of products or services that are sold and marketed in a location with the aim of people or consumers knowing, buying and then becoming customers. Meanwhile, a tourist spot that is visited by the surrounding community is the Old Tomb Tour of King Sidabutar. This study aims at analysing the existing communication messages from the Old Tomb of King Sidabutar tourism. This study uses a descriptive type of research that is used to find out about the messages in the Old Tomb of King Sidabutar tourism. Researchers also collected data from interviews, observations and documentation. The results of the study indicate that, (1) Marketing communication of the Old King Sidabutar Tomb in increasing visitors (2) Accessibility which aims to make it easier to reach tourist sites of the Old King Sidabutar Tomb through the transportation system (3) Tourism Destinations which explain the historical traditions of the Old King Sidabutar Tomb and some of the existing cultures (4) Resources and tourism institutions that show management from both the community and the government that manages the tour of the Old Tomb of King Sidabutar.

Abstract

This research is entitled Semiotic Analysis of the Moral Message of the Korean Drama Itaewon Class. By understanding a semiotic analysis to feel something strange and something that needs to be questioned further when reading a certain text or narrative, the Semiotics used is Roland Barthes' semiotics. According to Barthes, everything that is fixed, steady, stable, is a myth. The purpose of this study is to analyze the construction of communication messages in the Korean Drama Itaewon Class and the semiotic aspects of the moral message. The research method used is qualitative research. This study uses a constructivist paradigm that is antithetical to the notion that puts observation and objectivity in finding a reality. Korean dramas are dramas that describe the lives of Korean people with stories that involve various conflicts and are broadcast within a certain time interval. Meanwhile, semiotics in Korean films may still be considered too young when compared to Hollywood, which was a pioneer in the film industry. By looking at the development of cinematography, we can see that Korean cinema is gradually catching up to the success of the Hollywood film industry. The results of the study show that the moral message is something good that is adjusted to the measures of action that are generally accepted, including certain social or environmental units.

Abstract

This research is entitled "Marketing Communication Strategies in Promoting Products Through Online Qualitative Descriptive Studies on online store distributions "Ok Medan material is applied to Tokopedia". This study aims at determining the concept of strategy in marketing a product through online. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. This research method provides an overview by collecting data obtained from the processes and events that occur in the object of research. In addition, researchers also conducted in-depth interviews with research subjects in order to obtain research results in accordance with the research objectives. This study contains a description of the background of observations, quotes and results from interviews to provide an overview of the presentation of the report. This theory is related to the theory of new media, communication theory, and marketing theory which is carried out by okefield materials in maximizing customer satisfaction strategies which have a very close relationship and achieve price increases in the market so as not to lose the price of the products we sell. The research was conducted at the owner's house on Jalan Serayu II no. 119, Sei Rice Sekata Medan Krio, Deli Serdang Regency, Medan. The informant interviewed was one of the owners or business owners, from the results of the research conducted there were several main points that became the results of the research, namely the proven ones taken, namely new media, communication strategies, marketing, promotions and ideas. In achieving a strategy to increase sales results in online media, especially Tokopedia. Researchers get the data from the results of interviews, observations and documentation. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the communication process carried out on the Tokopedia account for materials okay Medan applies a directed communication strategy and includes communication components (source, message, media, receiver and feedback).

Abstract

This research is entitled " Podcast Suara Puan Sebagai Sarana Literasi Digital Kaum Perempuan Melalui Platform Spotify ". In human life in various periods and periods, there will be different developments. Human development will make humans learn and observe more and more in their development. Many things can happen in human life. Including in the current pandemic era, humans have become more creative in communicating. One of the human efforts to be able to keep running one of the digital technologies that is rising and becoming a new trend during the pandemic is podcasts. Podcasts or broadcasts are a new form of entertainment in the form of audio formats and later can also be enjoyed in audiovisual form. A Podcast is recording. It contains conversations ranging from half an hour to an hour, covering interesting and specific topics. Usually podcasts are delivered in monologue, dialogue or in groups (multi-hosted podcasts). The method of implementing the research approach is through literature study, in-depth interviews and analyzing it using descriptive analysis techniques. From the results of the study, it was found that the Suara Puan podcast is one of the answers at the same time as new communication channels offered by various media to get information about women.

Abstract

This study aims at determining the extent of the communication strategy carried out by the South Nias Regency Tourism Office, and the participation of the people of Hilisataro Nandrisa Village in the development of the Gumbu Park Waterfall tourist attraction. This is considering the development of the tourist attraction has not been able to run. Although crowded with visitors, the available facilities cannot be said to be feasible at all. Previously, Gumbu Park Waterfall was listed in the Master Plan for Tourism Development by the South Nias Regency Government. There is also a research methodology that is used qualitatively, to describe descriptively the social phenomena that are explored and clarified. Selection of informants using non-probability sampling method by providing opportunities for members of the population to be selected as samples based on certain criteria, consisting of key, main and supporting informants, as many as 5 (five) people. Several field findings have answered the obstacles to the construction of Gumbu Park Waterfall, including: unclear land ownership status; no budget allocation from the village government of Hilisataro Nandrisa; and ineffective communication strategies. In conclusion, the communication strategy carried out by the Tourism Office of South Nias Regency as a whole cannot be said to be quite effective. In addition, the participation of the people of Hilisataro Nandrisa Village in the construction of the Gumbu Park Waterfall tourist attraction is still small.
